The house was very clean and was a short walk to the beach. Would certainly stay here again.

Quiet. Good for our group

We had a wonderful stay at this home. It is a basic beach house as far as the decor and furniture, but had everything we needed. Communication with the owners was fast and easy. We particularly enjoyed all of the beach gear, the wagon, the highchair and pack 'n' play for the baby. The location is wonderful, an easy walk to the beach and very quiet and great for relaxing. We really loved the view (which is the first picture in the listing, not to be confused with the house itself). There are couple of small things that need attention but overall it was an awesome stay especially for Spring Break! Note- the no-see-um bugs were really bad at this time of the year (April) on the beach so be prepared!

We appreciated the new grille, bikes and beach wagon.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at The Palms. Greg and Vieta were responsive to our needs. When the grill didn’t work, they sent a new one right away. Same with the coffee maker! The property was beautiful. We had several guests come to visit and all enjoyed their time there. While it felt remote, it was easy to get in and out of and fun to use as a base to explore the area.

We were a party of 4, senior citizen friends. We found the house to be very clean, and quite comfortable. Our only issue was trying to figure out how to access the t.v. It would be helpful to have a laminated card with detailed instructions on how to know which remote to use and when to use it. There appeared to be a missing cord to one of the down stairs t.v. So there was no access to that t.v. Other then that the stay was very pleasant, the owner easily accessible, location was perfect and we enjoyed our stay.

This beach house had almost everything you could need for a week at the beach. My group of five enjoyed this beautiful, huge, and spacious home, right across the road from the beach. The rental included a wagon, cooler , beach chairs, toys, floats , etc. We also loved exploring the bike paths! Unfortunately, only one of the bikes was functional, so we had to rent some. This was my first time staying in the Plantation, and I was intrigued by the amenities. The pools were very nice. However, there is no hot tub, as advertised. It is not heated at all. Overall , the house was a real jewel. If you don’t need a hot tub or bikes , don’t hesitate to stay here.

Great. Would like to come back

We had a really nice stay in this home with our family and fur members during the last week of July. The spiral staircase was a challenge for the dogs but after a couple does they were able to manage. Greg was very helpful and responded quickly to any questions/concerns. The home was very comfortable and it provided what we needed. I would not hesitate to rent again.

The house is in a very nice location (basically anywhere on SGI is great). And it was functional. But the decor left ALOT to be desired. The furniture was poor quality. And the house was on the dingy side. The floors were sticky, the beds had dog hair, the shower was not very clean (there was hair in it), two pots had food on them still and the place could use a good dusting. That said, the owner was responsive. And it served its purpose.

Overall this was a good house and we adapted and had a good vacation. The house is severely outdated and could use maintenance. The pictures and description of the house were slightly misleading, specifically related to the steep metal spiral staircase in the home. We knew that there was an upstairs and downstairs but there are no pictures of the spiral staircase and had we known that before, we would not have rented. Our 40 lb dog was not able to go up or down those stairs due to not feeling she could get a good grip with the metal and having a bad back leg (the wood stairs were fine) so we had to carry her up those stairs. We also had someone in our party with knee and ankle issues that the stairs presented a challenge for. The appliances, furniture, faucet knobs, counters were very outdated but was not a big deal. However, i did have an issue with the broken chairs on the patio off the kitchen that we could not sit in; or the broken screen on the sliding glass door, or the screen on the kitchen window that’s patched with bandaids, or the broken wood post on the patio that i was not comfortable letting my kids or dog on. With the price that we paid to stay there, I would expect that these things be fixed and maintained properly, especially since it’s not very costly to fix them. The refrigerator also leaked water that we cleaned up daily, appears to have a cracked drip pan because we saw a piece of tape trying to hold it together. Also, we paid for 9 people to stay in the home, however we were only given 8 bath towels and no back up towels or anyone to call to get another one. So we had to buy extra bath towels that we left in the home. I think the bath towels allotted should match the number of people in the home. The description of the home also stated that the couch was a pull out bed but that was not true. That should be taken off the description as we relied on that. The air mattress in the home has a hole in it so we could not use that. Luckily we brought a spare air mattress that we were able to use instead for my kids to sleep on. Other than these issues, we enjoyed our stay and had a great time.

The house was nice. Plenary of room for everyone that went on the trip. Short walk to the beach with easy access. Would recommend others to stay here.

Easy process through vrbo

The experience was overall great. The property owners were very easy to work with. The house had everything we needed. The home could use some updates and a few fixes. The cleaning crew could spend a little more time in the home, paying attention to deep clean places such as vents (very dusty) maybe air filters need to be changed? Base boards, cupboards. Tack strips between the bedroom and bathrooms were visible and needs to be fixed. After stepping on many times, we put towels over them. Overall the home was great! Don’t want to change the rating because they are minor, but every little bit helps. 😄 Great location, this was our first time in the plantation. One pool was open, unheated, easy walk to the beach. Love SGI have been coming down for several years now. Heads up, no-see-ums are bad in April.

Lovely house, has everything you need, and just a 30 second walk to the beach!

This was a very good property in a really great location. A short walk to the beach. Bike riding was fun and the beach was great. Big enough for several families but not too big. The beach was fantastic, unfortunately the youngest, a toddler, did not like sand.

Our second stay at this dog-friendly beach house house was wonderful. They really met our family vacation needs. Our last stay, we brought our family. This time it was just us, two and our dog. It is a short walk to an almost private beach. You can see the water from the two front desks. They have bike paths all over St George’s Island and we used them daily. We walked our dog or rode our bikes. The owners have some bikes in the shed which we used as well as our own. (Bikes can be rented, too.) The house has all appliances, oven, washer, dryer, dishwasher, etc. WiFi and tv’s. It is a home in a gated community. There is a community pool that looks beautiful which we passed during our many bike-rides, we were more interested in the ocean. We will return again!

Upon arrival it was obvious that the house had barely been cleaned. Contacted property owner and she tried to contact cleaning service. They never came. Spent a day cleaning the house ourselves. Owner was very apologetic and gave us a comp at a local restaurant. Previous renters stole the fire sticks and a power cord to one of the TVs. Owner ordered new ones and had them shipped to house. I felt bad for the owners as they live out of state and were limited on what they could physically do, they really tried.

The house was ladened with hair balls. There was hair on the bed sheets in my daughters room and their were period stains on the sheets in another room. The place overall felt dirty. The bikes had flat tires and the owner offered to pay to have them fixed if we took them across the island to the repair shop. We didn't want to spend our time getting their bikes fixed so we rented some. Unfortunately, we wouldn't visit this home again.

We were pleased to find The Palms to rent in a high-demand market. The location was excellent, a short walk to the beach. The kitchen was well stocked, but you need to bring all staple foods. The shed had a good supply of beach equipment such as chairs and umbrellas. A few things needed upkeep, like two flat tires. Stained towels needed replacing. The rooms were as pictured but there were no sleep sofas. The inflatable mattress was usable in the foyer (“kids room”) but had a slow leak. Despite a few imperfections, we had a very enjoyable stay.

Property is a little out of date, we knew this from pictures. Could have been cleaner. I assume the cleaning crew is struggling to find employees like most businesses these days. We were prepared for this by taking a lot of our own linens and cleaning products. Overall everything was fine for the price we paid. Very attentive property owners and nice private neighborhood !

Beautiful, clean home. Spacious 4 bedrooms. Plantations are beautiful, green lush, shaded bike path, great pools, beaches were empty! Dog-friendly. Wonderful upper porches with water views. Will rent again. This was our first trip to SGI and we loved it!

Access to ocean very good. Picture in website absolutely wrong. This is not the house we rented and gives very wrong picture of property we did rent.

We had an amazing week at the Palms!!! It had everything that we needed. Our two little fur babies loved it too but we had to carry them up and down the spiral stairway. Owners were very easy to get in touch with and very informative as well as pleasant. Very happy with our vacation! The beautiful Island is just what we needed to relax!

Very easy rental process and coordination with the owner. The unit is very basic but provides all the essentials you will need for your stay. The beach and bike equipment provided is a nice touch. The location is wonderful—very peaceful and exclusive neighborhood on the plantation with low density and lots of amenities. Beach access is a peaceful paved walk to a community boardwalk—just a few hundred yards from house to the sand & water.
