Very quiet which was cool just got to chill

The welcoming atmosphere made us feel at home and comfortable. The location, the facilities, everything was in great shape. Sam the dog was very cute and liked a lot of cuddles.

We liked the hospitable host and his mate (Sam the dog)! Very easy to deal with and treated us as 'part of the family'. Texted us prior to our arrival to ensure we were able to access the premises. The room was spotlessly clean and luxuriously furnished. A lovely ensuite bathroom with effective shower. Car parking outside the front door. Very reasonably priced.

The owner was very welcoming and helpful about local attractions. The breakfasts were good. The bed comfortable; sufficient wardrobe space. The location was good for coastal towns in Taranaki and for the volcano itself.

The room was at the front of the house, on main road highway 3 and logging lorries passing by in the early hours disrupted sleep.

Great location if you travel by car, per bus it is a bit of a walk from the city centre, but the former is usually the default. There is also a dairy around the corner, so easy to get the basics covered. The room was clean, shower pressure excellent, shampoo and soap provided and the proprietors were very helpful (drove me to the bus stop) and we had a few pleasant chats. They also have a friendly and well behaved dog. Breakfast was very good with a variety of spreads, toast and a good cup of coffee. All in all would definitly recommend. I used the earplugs provided, so the traffic noise at night wasn't a big deal for me.

I couldn't connect the smart TV to the wifi, so no Netflix, but Sky worked fine and it wasn't really something I absolutely needed. I am sure if I would have asked it would have been sorted. That's my minor quibbel, everything else was just fine or exceptional.
