We enjoyed our stay overall. The backyard was a nice space for our extended family to gather, but it was a little awkward having a video camera out there watching us the whole time. We had difficulty cooling the basement to a comfortable temperature in July. The trash was overflowing because it didn't get picked up the week before. Some of the rooms were a little cramped with the sloping ceilings.

Great house. We held a family reunion with 23 people from several states, ID, VA & TX. Everyone enjoyed the house. The front yard had no grass, I'm sure due to drought, but they had a nice area in the back with grass, which we used for cornhole & visiting. There is a great firepit in the back which we couldn't use due to a fire ban, swing set and place house for the small children. Only down side for us was it quite a jaunt to Durango where we were doing a lot of our plans. Mesa Verde is fairly close to Durango where we wanted to go, along with a float trip. The house had lots of towels, extra sheets, paper goods & lots of extra condiments, I'm sure leftover from other stays. We used some things, left some things, like napkins & paper towels. Had some guests leaving after I did with instructions on what to do before they left, hoping they did them. Lots of beds and bathrooms, extra frig in the garage which we needed. I would recommend the house to anyone that has a large group.

We had 37 people, but was a little tight for that, yet doable. Owner is very easy to communicate with and quick to respond.

Had a family reunion here that was super meaningful to us. Setting is spectacular, house was perfect and views are breathtaking. Host was phenomenal and our entire family is already talking about coming back. Couldn't recommend it enough!

We had 21 people from the ages of 3 to 70 stay for five days at this wonderful property. It’s a quick 25 minute drive to Durango, where we spent two days. One of them at Purgatory resort, and one taking the train from Durango to Silverton. Both of them we highly recommend. One of the days we ventured over to Mesa Verde and also had a great time. Property is exactly how it’s listed. There was more than enough room for all of us. The next time we come back to Durango, we will definitely try to book this property!

The house was just as we expected and was absolutely perfect for our family vacation. There were 24 with our 3 daughters, their children and one great grandchild. We still had extra beds. We rode the train, went to the Chuckwagon, and the hot springs, and went to Mesa Verde. Durango was about 20 minutes away and everything as so beautiful. Our pictures at the firepit making s'mores are great.

This place was perfect for our family reunion. It was farther away from the tourist attractions than we thought, but it was far enough away that the kids could play night games and not disturb anyone. The swing set was a hit, as well as the fire pit. It was clean, spacious, and very enjoyable. The host was accommodating and easy to work with. The check out process was quick and that was appreciated. Thanks so much for the stay and making our reunion that much better. My niece was not grumpy…which is unlike her. :-).

This house was perfect for a large group! We thoroughly enjoyed the outside space and the inside space. Huge house, wonderful amenities! Look forward to a yearly return!

We had a great time staying in Hesperus. The house was perfect for our large group. (6 families with kids). Plenty of room for us to be together or apart. Game room and downstairs bedroom worked well for kids to have their own area to hang out and play games and such. Kitchen was well setup with enough plates and such to handle the group size that the house could handle. On demand hot water meant that none of us got short changed on hot water for showering, that was a big bonus. Our group enjoyed the fire pit out back. It was big enough that we could get our group around it and build a big enough fire to keep warm. We had a couple questions so we needed to call the owners and they were super responsive and helpful. If you have a big group this is your house.

The process was very easy. The owners responded immediately to our questions and were very gracious.

Renting this property was east and without complication. This was my first property to rent and I’m very thankful for the hosts willingness to answer questions and making sure we had a great time.

We cozily fit 6 families with 9 children and had a great time. The little kids loved the playhouse and the swings while the older ones played with the ping pong/pool table. It was great to have a guide posted as to where to find everything in the house.

We all enjoyed our stay. The house is plenty big enough for our group of 14. Had everything we needed.

The property was as described and very accommodating. Our family enjoyed the spaciousness of the house and yard. There was plenty of space for 23 people. The WII and outside playhouse were a highlight for the grandkids. We had a wonderful stay!

Our group of 28 (adults, kids, teens,babies) enjoyed our stay in this older country family-friendly property. It was clean and had all that we needed. We utilized the small, green grassy area for family games. The kids enjoyed the swing set, playhouse and less landscaped grounds.

We enjoyed our stay although the home was farther from places we wished to see than expected. The surrounding neighborhood left much to be desired. Cleanliness was an issue which could be improved upon….spots one carpet, baseboards dusty.

This large home with many bedrooms worked very well for our family reunion. We spent 4 days together with 3 generations of our family. There was plenty of room for parking our vehicles, and we especially loved the serving counters in the kitchen for all of our buffet style meals. We enjoyed eating out back, out of doors, and used the swings and playhouse. The small lawn worked well for our lawn games. Excellent location for spendings days in Mesa Verde and Durango.

A group of friends and family stayed for a week. The property was exactly as advertised and the host had all the bases covered. We wanted for nothing. I highly recommend this location if you need a large home not inside the city. Plenty of privacy and only 20 minutes from Durango.

I love this house for my large (20+) family! It’s 3 levels and plenty of beds and space so we never felt too crowded. Super clean and well cared for. Stocked with all the essentials for cooking for a crowd. Lots of baby gear and toys and games so you don’t have to haul all the necessities for the little ones. Plenty of towels and linens are provided. The only downside is the location. It’s not far from Durango but it is a little bit of a drive to the slopes at Purgatory, especially when the roads are icy. The affordable price and size far outweighed the price though!
