Came into town for a first birthday party. Accomodations were very accurate. Enjoyed the little cabin!

The tiny cabin had everything we needed for a short 2 night stay in the Lake of Egypt area. Not far from the property is the Cross Eyed Bear for good food and drinks, but with a great kitchen set up with a grill, you might not need to or want to go out to eat. Beautiful hiking is about a 15 min drive away, and you’re also about 20-30 minutes from picturesque wineries. Loved our stay, and we will have to be back!

Glad i got to experience the stay in a tiny house.. more than enough room. Had everything we needed and clean.. sitting on the deck and watching the sunset. was just what we needed after a day of sightseeing and hiking..

Wanted a quick trip, between trips to South Dakota, to see the fall beauty of the Garden of the Gods and other scenic locations in Shawnee National Forest. This mini cabin was beautiful clean, comfortable and just perfect for our quick turnaround. Would recommend to anyone that wants a location full of beauty located in Southern Illinois.

Came down to Southern IL to spend some time with my grandkids. Enjoyed the stay at the cabin. Great secured location. Very clean and comfortable cabin. Communication with Allison was helpful and timely. Will definitely come back again!

Easy check in and out was able to communicate with Allison the owner if any difficulties, which we had none. Very clean place. Simple exit instructions. 2 other places close by if other family members wanted to go.

This is a wonderful, well appointed cabin! It had everything we needed. It was clean and cozy. The owner was very responsive and easy to contact. I am only sad that it was too cold to enjoy a fire outside! One small recommendation would be a throw blanket for the sofa as it was chilly at night.

My wife and I loved our time at the “Yellow Door” enjoying the scenery, shopping, eating food, and 2 full nights of sleep without our soon to be 7 month old!
We can’t wait to do it again this summer and again this time next year!

What a great little getaway. My boyfriend and I stopped for 2 nights on our way home from Myrtle Beach. Unfortunately it stormed majority of our stay; however, we didn't get wet since the yellow door cabin came with an umbrella! When I say they have everything you need...I mean it. It was clean, comfortable, and 100% perfect. We will definitely be returning. Do not hesitate to book this location! It will not disappoint!!!!

The cabin is charming and as is depicted in the pictures. You can see why it is frequently booked. The furnishings are beginning to show wear but we understand the owners are aware and taking steps to update. We love the location, so convenient to all Shawnee has to offer.

We really enjoyed this property. It was very peaceful, with pretty scenery. The place was very clean and welcoming. All the communication with the host was easy and quick. We would definitely recommend this property!

Thanksgiving meeting place
Cabin was perfect for small family. One bedroom with a very comfortable bed. 2nd bed in loft. (Requires climbing a ladder to reach) Cabin was pet friendly with large property (with pond) for allowing dogs off leash. We also enjoyed the fire pit. Owner even brought us extra firewood. Property has 3 cabins total, so would be good place for larger family also. It’s located 25-30 minutes from State Park and 45 minutes from a local microbrewery.

Darn cute little cabin with a super comfy bed… The host was very helpful when I had trouble opening the door for the first time. It was actually simple and it was my bad for not reading the instructions which were forwarded to me before we even left home. It was kinda embarrassing, but Allison was very sweet about it. I would definitely stay again!
