This was a great beach house for celebrating my husband’s birthday with some close friends. It had everything you could want in a rental and was very clean. The only reason I gave 4 stars for the online description, is because I would have loved to know that the private pool will not open until April 29th. Therefore, if we wanted it cleaned we would have had to paid extra. Knowing this would have allowed me to adjust my scheduled stay accordingly since one of the primary reasons for choosing this beach house was the private pool and hot tub. I was definitely annoyed by learning this after my arrival. Other than that lack of prior communication, this beach house was full of fun activities, lots of space for food and beverages, a wonderful tub in the master sweet, and gorgeous views from the many balconies. I hope to stay here again.

The location was perfect for fishing on the pier and attending the jeep invasion. It was challenging to fall asleep at night because the house is located on the main road and the traffic is so loud. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and hanging around the pool.

Location is very close to other homes. There Is no privacy. Unfortunately we had 4 kids in the house to the left of us that were extremely rude while their parents left them unattended. The family on the right of us had a screaming baby from Wednesday on. The house is decorated nicely. It is close to everything. The internet/wifi is extremely bad. It was difficult to stay connected or to stream a movie without constant buffering.

The TVs never worked. We did get a service call and technician said he had fixed it but issues were resolved. I texted the office again and was totally frustrated with their response which they did not respond for the second call. Also the carpets are very old and stained. The carpets weren't clean that well either when we arrived.

I stayed a lot Shell Town in August 2022. Even though the location is nice, I would not stay here again. Here the pros and cons: Pros - 5 minute walk to beach - Good size pool that is shaded by the house - Beautiful view of water upstairs - Outdoor shower - Located near the pier, restaurants, and walking trail - Linens are provided Cons - There were cleanliness issues. The bathtubs & toilets were dirty. My magic clean eraser was saturated in dirt after cleaning the master shower. The toilet had pee stains under the lid. Refrigerator door handle was filthy. Food ok the living room carpet. Management did offer for the cleaners to come back to clean the house and allow us to sign off on whether it was satisfactory. - The grout in the master shower had mold. Housekeeping helped remove a lot of it but there was still some mold there. - Issues with WiFi connection on the 2nd and 1st levels because router was on ground level.

The sunrises and sunsets were beautiful and beach access was easy. Great location, although there is constant traffic noise due to the closeness of the main road. The extra refrigerator in the kitchen made storing food for 3 families helpful. Having a pool to swim in after being at the ocean was relaxing. Looking forward to next year's visit.

We went on a crabbing trip, then took our haul to the seafood market at the corner. They steamed and seasoned them for us for a reasonable price. The blue crabs were excellent. We also took a drive down to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum, played disc golf on Roanoak Island, and visited the Wright Brothers Memorial. There are also several putt-putt courses nearby and an outlet mall for those who need retail therapy. The week was a perfect mix of lazing in the sun and checking out the local area.

There needs to be a straw mat at the outside shower door so when coming out of the pool you don't have to walk through someones shower water.Also under the car port the cement is unlevel where it connects in the first section and could cause serious injury. Overall though I had a great vacation here.

(Very close) All amenities are very nice and unit is well provisioned with kitchen supplies. Beach realty was very understanding in letting us leave the keys in unit as opposed to taking them up to MP 2.5 from MP 16. We had come in from the South and that saved us about 1 1/2 of extra driving. The unit is only about 5 miles from the Bodie Is. lighthouse and the beach at the Hatteras National seashore. Very nice. Price was acceptable and the unit was in wonderful shape. Pool and Hot tub were very clean and nice. Recommend Beach and this unit.

Our daughters, son-in-law and four grandchildren raninging in ages 3 to 12 come in from Colorado and New Mexico and this is a time for cousins to reunite and have a fun beach vacation. The location of the house is central to shopping, activities, and restaurants. We took the little kids on the Pirate Adventure in Manteo. What a great time! Also went to the aquarium in Manteo, fishing on Jeanette's pier, fishing on the beach, and crabbing. Whalebone Seafood shop is next door and Cahoon's convenience store and Fatboyz ice cream are nearly in our back yard. The beach is a short walk as well as Sam and Ommie's restaurant. The house is perfect for our family and the pool and hot tub are always a big hit. The layout has 4 bedrooms on the middle level with the 5th bedroom on the top level. Views of the ocean and the sound can be seen from the top level decks. This is a very spacious and comfortable home, well equipped and furnished. We especially like the addition of the twin beds replacing the bunk beds in one of the kid's rooms. The kitchen is well stocked. The dishwasher is a little old and the carpets are showing some wear. The owners are very responsive to any problems you might have, of which we had none this year. The first year we had a loose bannister in the living room and they sent a repairman right away. Sheets and towels are supplied and your beds are all made and waiting for you when you arrive. We are coming back again next year and are looking forward to another fun family vacation at Shelltown.

I get it, this is a beach house and you should be at the beach. However, at night, I would enjoy watching the football games or movies on a TV bigger than 30 inches. Which by the way is in the main living room. Other than that, the house worked for us. The pool is very nice with a 5ft depth. The hot tube could be upgraded but it works. Very close walk to the beach!

My four girlfriends and I enjoyed a lovely week at the Seashell House. We had a great week with mixed weather…all sunny skies fluctuating temperatures between 88 and 59 degrees. Seashell house is as described and afforded much comfort and amenities . We enjoyed the various decks with views overlooking the sound, ocean, and main thoroughfare. The hot tub and pool were a definite bonus! I can’t imagine how busy things must be “ in season” and glad we picked April to travel. Note: the premises was generally clean/tidy. However, the carpets had obviously not been vacuumed prior to our visit. We found crumbs, Easter basket grass and other debris throughout…nothing terrible…but there. The dish washer was also loaded with dirty dishes…again., not an issue, just disappointing. I mention these things since I believe the management company charges/in charged for cleaning service. We were technically challenged and had trouble with the remote controls, instructions might be handy. The market behind the house is especially wonderful…they have a little bit of everything (TP, garbage bags, detergents, groceries, deli, beverages, ice, and various sun dries). Anyway, vacation was enjoyed by all! Thank you.

We had a great week at this rental house. The location is great; near Jennette's Pier and there are lots of things to do nearby. The beach is a short walk away. There is also a convenience store within walking distance. We all enjoyed the pool area, including the hot tub. We would definitely recommend this property.

The house was gorgeous and spacious. The home is located on the main road which is a bit loud and busy. The rooms are very bright so it made it hard to sleep. The home is with in walking distance to the beach and Jennett’s Pier.
