Staying at the Relais de la Liberte was a delight. The setting is a beautiful courtyard and our room was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. Sophie provides tea, coffee for the room and toiletries. There were so many thoughtful touches. Breakfast was delicious, a selection of breads and fresh waffles. Sophie called Le Grand Hard restaurant and booked us a table, we had a superb meal. This was definitely our favourite place to stay during our week of touring by bike.

The facility was historic on the outside and new on the inside. The host was friendly and we loved that they are supporting WWII veterans who wish to return for a visit.

A charming place; converted and modernised former barns that historically were part of the next door Manor, and now on their own farm. It is located just a few minutes from Utah Beach, in the centre of this incredibly historic area.

Sophie is the consummate hostess! Beautiful farmhouse, fresh and delicious breakfast provided and the room was more than I expected. Very charming and comfortable. Can't wait to visit again!

Clean accommodation, well appointed, with good access and parking and wonderful hosts.

We loved how personal the stay experience was - the owners welcomed us and even made us breakfast in their kitchen (it was wonderful)! The view from the back of the room alone was worth the price! A beautiful slice of heaven that was perfect for our short visit to the area.

Thanks to Brian's review, I decided to stay at the Relais de la Liberté with two teenagers while we visited the D-Day beaches. We could not have picked a better base both in terms of the accommodation and the location. We only stayed one night, but the accommodation was great -- comfortable beds, great linens, plenty of space and very calm. The owners are lovely -- very friendly and welcoming. I really appreciated the loft set up and being able to just reserve one room for our family -- with very tall teenagers we usually have to take two rooms. (Note that the loft stairs are steep and might not be a good fit for everyone.) The rooms are scrupulously clean and recently (and very nicely) renovated. The location was AMAZING. Sainte-Marie-Du-Mont was our favorite part of our trip to Normandy. It is absolutely small and charming and one imagines that very little has changed since the 1940s. I last visited the beaches in the 1980s and I was disappointed to see how much the beaches had been commercialized - visitors centers galore. One escapes that in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont. At the height of midsummer -- we drove to Utah beach at 9:45pm -- there was still light and we had a beautiful beach to ourselves. The Relais is quite near the location of Brecourt Manor which was quite a hit with my kids who are Band of Brothers fans. I would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to others.

The rooms where beautifull, the owner was really sweet and welcoming. Overall it was a very agreable and nice stay!

The place was very cute and quaint. The hostess was very sweet and helpful. The rooms were really nice and comfortable. The breakfast was fruits, coffee, tea, bread, butter, cheese and on the second day the hostess make crapes for us.

I didn't mind the location, I knew was a bit far out with but it was very quiet.
