We found the location to be convenient to shopping, gas and restaurants. It’s about 1 hour from the N. Eleuthera airport and we rented a car at the airport for the week which worked out very well. The house was very comfortable and the three bedrooms were well appointed. Kitchen is laid out well and has everything you would need. We also loved the outdoor shower and having a covered car port. We were glad to have beach chairs and towels to take to the beach. Amazing views of the ocean and beautiful beach steps away. I would highly recommend this rental.

It was the perfect place for the kids to play and be close by while we were making meals or getting ready to head out for the day. We also enjoyed this space at night after the kids went to bed! You just walk out the back porch and down a few steps to the pool, and then a few more steps to the beach. The house even had beach blankets and chairs and umbrellas we could use. And lots of towels!! Right next door (a 3 min walk) there is a restaurant with a swim up bar, that serves lunch and dinner, fun for kids and adults!

The property manager was extremely helpful, she made a few recommendations for excursions that she claimed were the best, and they truly were. Anytime we needed something, a car seat, a playpen, she made arrangements for us and just made things appear!

I really loved every corner of this house. And the proximity to the pool and the beach. We hope to come back again and stay for longer!!

We had a great stay in Allamanda House. We loved the solid stone structure and huge screened in porch overlooking the ocean affording lots of breeze. The orientation of the house makes it feel very private. The bedrooms and living area are generous, the kitchen small but well equipped. Misty looked after us on arrival and the few small things that needed attention were dealt with promptly and gracefully. The location is excellent, with direct beach access and minutes by car from Governors for shopping and restaurants. Lovely island, lots to explore!

We appreciated the tile floors, the great air conditioning and as others have mentioned the wonderful screened in front porch with its fantastic view of the turquoise ocean in the distance. The pool was beautiful and large and while we were there, we were the only ones to use it. It’s a great beach with soft white sand and just a couple of minutes walk from the house. When there was a small problem with the wifi, someone came out and fixed it in quick order. It was a wonderfully relaxing stay.

Masterbed (queen)draped in a mosquito nettingwas beautiful. A second bedroom had a king and another bathroom. There was never anyone in the pool at the same time. Candles everywhere. A double chaise lounge on the screened patio let us watch stars with wine at night. A little thatched hut at the beach with 2 lounge chairs. A private little stair case down to pool which was clean. We stopped there after beach everyday. Never saw anyone on the beach in front of the house. Th View was simply amazing. AC and Fridge/Freezer worked very well- cold. House had everything, including basic condiments and cleaning supples. A restaurant and pool bar are within walking distance. Misty was quick to answer emails but didnt come bug us, which was great. We had awesome snorkeling just down the beach in front of the capsized catamaran to the south. Little beach caves within walking distance were great to find and explore. Water was crystal clear. Town for supples and more restaurants was 10 minute drive. Neighborhood was secure. Locals at the bar were nice. House was clean. I was worried when I read Historic but we were delightfully surprised. Awesome house. And Eleuthera is absolutely gorgeous.

We just spent 11 nights at Allamanda House with our three teenagers. It's really lovely. The screened porch is about 60 feet long and is where we spent all of our time. The view is beautiful. The huge pool is at the bottom of a set of stairs and the beach is a 1 minute walk down the community road. An unexpected bonus was the boat ramp on the Caribbean side of Wykee Estates. We went over there almost every day and our teenagers had a great time jumping off the cliffs/rocks into the water. We snorkeled over there as well. The kitchen was well stocked with all the amenities we needed. The property manager and housekeeper each checked in with us every couple of days to see if we needed anything. The house is historic and charming as stated in the description so if you value gleaming new cabinets, showers and granite countertops, this is not the house for you. If you value a nice, relaxing vacation in a lovely home in a beautiful location, then rent Allamanda House.

We just returned from a wonderful week stay in Allamanda House with 2 of our children (ages 16 & 24). The house itself is quaint and charming with a beautiful view. The Wykee Estates neighborhood is quiet and very well kept with lovely vegetation. We met several other couples staying in other homes in the neighborhood, all of whom said they would come again. We will definitely be back! Matt and Tara are super easy to work with and made the booking process run smoothly.

We stayed at this lovely house for 12 days and just loved it! We can't wait to come back.

We stayed at Allamanda for one month. We are very lucky. We did not know much about Eleuthera or the Bahamas before we went, nor had we ever done VRBO/Homeaway. Our vacation could not have been more perfect and we attribute most of that to ALLAMANDA HOUSE! The house is just like the pictures.. and more. We loved all the Bahamian art, furniture, etc. But beyond all, we loved the screened in porch that extended the entire house. Two bedrooms and the living room face the porch. You can hear the waves all day, the porch is never in the sun, so it is always a nice temperature, it has fans, lights, and three different seating areas. This will now become my true ideal for a vacation! And I am even now looking for a home that has similarities! The pool was just a few steps down from the house. This is the only house in the 8-house neighborhood that has direct access to the pool. It feels like YOUR OWN! And then a few more steps and you have the beach. You can bounce back and forth. Perfection! As for the beach, we experienced big waves and more calm days. A little of both. The sand was so soft and pink. Beyond sensational! The Sky Club is next door. We loved going there. It turns out its actually open to the public! (We thoughts wed have to buy a drink). So we would go there in morning and swim and/or hot tub. And of course eat there throughout trip. The gardens on the property were lovely and fun to explore. The caretaker was there to help! Matt, the property manager could not have been more helpful in selecting a house for us or helping answer questions along the way. This location is great because it is in the middle of the island. So you can get to north or south in an hour. And you can hit all the fun events during week without a long drive. A lot happens right around this area so it is a good place. I have been telling people, this is the first time I have done on vacation and not had "house or hotel envy." We loved every inch of this house and the experience it provided us!
