The pub downstairs served the worst food I’ve ever tasted. Everything had been fried several times and came out dark brown and not edible. The manager was rude and abrupt. When we checked in he said “Breakfast is 8-9, not a minute before, not a minute after” in a very rude manner. It was a Sunday too!!

If you want to be right in the middle of a bustling, vibrant village in the Yorkshire Dales, the Snooty Fox is the place to stay. You will experience all of the charm of an old inn and modern day comforts, and a great meal and even better beer. The staff were welcoming, pleasant, and helpful. The room we stayed in had a great view of the village Main Street, classy updated bathroom, tv, tea kettle, and superbly comfortable bed. Kirkby Lonsdale is also within short driving distance to other wonderful places in the Dales, making it a great halfway point for exploring.

Our only complaint was the temperature of the room. It could get very warm, very quickly in the room; however, the room was equipped with a oscillating fan that surprised us with how well it worked to make the room comfortable quickly. Out of all our stays throughout that trip, this was the place we slept best…until, the final morning of our stay when at around 8 a.m. someone decided to wash the outside of our windows loudly. Upon mentioning this to the staff member working, she was very apologetic and kind.

The room was good and the bed comfortable. It did, however, get quite noisy on the Friday and Saturday nights of our stay, although it didn’t bother us. The big-screen football in the downstairs bar was great fun and we joined in the general chat there. All staff were friendly, helpful and professional.

There was no residents’ lounge area and breakfast service was slow.

The fact I booked two rooms and one was given away before arrival. The staff tried to cover up the issue and then make it look like they were doing me a favour of turning the remaining room into a twin room.

It was the cheapest room in the area. For the money the room was quite spacious, and it was a very comfortable room. The breakfast was very good. The staff were friendly, and welcoming, and very hard working. Large screen sports was a nice bonus, would absolutely recommend to anyone.

I thought I had booked breakfast but was mistaken completely my error but was told had to pay for breakfast in cash before we could eat in front of other guests no card just cash and it was the same amount as the genius discount we received even though nothing on menu matched this amount made to feel uncomfortable and had paid for drinks etc the previous evening using card. The only cash machine was out of service so couldn't withdraw cash very poor service

I think it’s been a while since it’s been decorated as it’s all looking a little tired.

No cereal or fruit juice on 2 morning. No side plates toast soggy next to baked beans otherwise OK

Three night stay no clean towels or toilet roll without asking in crowded bar.

Rooms excellent bed very comfortable en-suite bathroom spot on shower excellent, breakfast first class maybe 8 to 10 on a weekend instead off 8 till 9 but wasn't really an issue bar area excellent freindly staff and locals who make you welcome also dog freindly.

Food not as good as it used to be some main courses not available,steak should always be available but all sold out even some starters not available. Also more staff needed behind the bar as it was very busy and only one serving.
