My husband and I along with my best friend and her boyfriend spent a long Memorial Day weekend at Charlene! It was an incredible getaway that left us all feeling to grateful to be able to be on Lake George but not among the tourist side. The family that owns the place were all so welcoming and kind, we felt like we were part of the family! Such a great experience, we can’t wait to come back again!

Our family has stayed in the Charlene “ cabin for a few years!! My son n his girlfriend joined us this year n we loved the cabin, location ,best view in town!!! The Tuttle family has own this beautiful location for generations n it’s just absolutely beautiful no matter what window you look out of!! We believe it’s a piece of “Heaven”!! Our dogs are allowed to come which they love n we can bring our pets with us without worry! The cabin is adorable, the views are spectacular n the family who own this location n their dogs are one beautiful family. Special shout out to ,”Becky “ who is on top of your stay n will do anything to make your stay even better! She is quick to respond to any needs, emails or calls! We love you, Becky n we will see you in 2024!! A must RENT n you decide for yourself!

Beautiful property, the host were great.

Everything was exactly as described and check in was a breeze. The family who lives in the large house was delightful and very helpful. The cottage was clean, comfortable and well stocked. It is conveniently located, just a short ride from Lake George village. The property is simply lovely with beautiful views of the lake and peaceful areas to sit and relax, fish, canoe or read a book. The cottage is a 19th century gem and the property is pet friendly too.

We went boating every day from the private beach, enjoyed fire pits at night and the beautiful fall foliage in a serene, picturesque setting. This is our 5th year renting Charlene and we will be back next year! Becky is a amazing host, she always makes sure that we have everything we need.

The property was pristine andbeautiful with lots of areas to enjoy the lake. Also a historically significant architectural gem. I plan to return. Debra Failla

Beautiful shared property that is large and varied. Want to hang out on a dock? Want to sit in a gazebo? Want to run around in a yard? Want to sit at picnic point? I could go on. There are so many wonderful spots to enjoy. We often sat on our patio in the morning, drank coffee, read our books and looked out at the lake. Between exploring the property and swimming in the lake, it was a wonderful vacation. This spot is very convenient. It's close to Lake George Village and an easy drive to Bolton Landing if you want to go out. You feel secluded on the property but know you can quickly get out for fun, eating and groceries. Becky and family were great (as well as the pups for my dogs to play with!). Highly recommend this cottage.

Ok to be honest I really want to give a bad review because this place is so fantastic that I don't want anyone else to go and we can always reserve it. But seriously. I don't have one negative thing to say. We all had a wonderful time. Property is beautiful. History is intriguing. We enjoyed the kayaks and canoe. My husband caught a lot of fish. Communication with Becky was great. A++++

We had 4 lovely nights that we thoroughly enjoyed with our young Labrador retriever who had a blast. Perfect place for us.

This was a wonderful place for our family’s first vacation. It is private but not far from everything. My children loved the grounds and we all had a great time exploring.

We have stayed here many times. The family that owns the place is great! The home is delightful and right on the lake. If you want to swim, fish or just read by the lake, this place is gorgeous! We will be back!!! Dave, Heather , Hailey.

We had so much fun staying here! The owner of the property is lovely and has three very friendly dogs who played with our dog throughout the entire stay. The location is beautiful with lots of places to roam and great beaches for swimming and water activities.

The property was perfect for our family, including our 19 and 22 year old "kids" and our little dog. We have family in the area with children 10 and under, who visited and enjoyed the little beaches and diving board. The hosts are very accommodating. They made us feel at home, and even made sure the lawn was mowed in time for us to have a pre-scheduled croquet game on the lawn. :-) What I loved most about the property was the serenity and the feeling of being at a family home on the lake. I grew up in the area, and spent a lot of time on Lake George, Glen Lake, etc., and for me, the experience brought back wonderful memories. My kids loved it and on the first day asked if we could come back next year. We used the kayaks and brought our own paddle boards. Thank you to our hosts - a lovely Upstate NY family.

This is a gorgeous property with beautiful views of the lake. The cottage is adorable and had everything we needed to prepare our meals. The owners are super friendly, we had a wonderful week with our grown children and the dog, I highly recommend it!

Just as described by many of the reviews here the location is a gem "A little piece of heaven". It is a great spot for the family and pets. Our dog loved it. The owners were super friendly and helpful. However,the property it's a bit outdated. The tv has basic cable. We had a full day of rain and we would have loved to use our netflix but the tv didn't have the option to connect it. At night the property was very cold. They had heaters, which helped, but the basement was super cold at night and there are not many blankets offered. So, if you are planning to go in the colder season, bringing extra blankets is recommended. The cottage is nice and clean and the fire pit is secluded for privacy with a beautiful view. The only thing that did not work very well was the grill. The temperature didn't go higher than 250°, so the meat took longer than usual to cook. Other than that we recommended this place.

We’re life long fans of Lake George after spending summers on the eastern shore for many years. The sale of the family summer home has left a whole in our hearts. The Tuttle family’s property helped to fill our need to experience the Lake George ADK area once again. The Charlene bungalow offered plenty of space and all that we needed for a short 2-night stay. We loved the location, right on the water and so close to all the area has to offer!

Beautiful property location about 3.5 acres almost all of it on the lake shore and a very private spot. Lots of nooks a crannies to discover as you walk around the property and there is also great history there. The property was purchased around 1856 and has remained in the same family since then. Highly recommend this place.

Love the property and the owners. Second time we’ve been there. They’re also dog friendly. There’s not a bad view of the lake from anywhere on the property. We’ll be going back next year.

This property is indescribable! One mile from town, yet total serene privacy and seclusion, it’s fun to observe town while feeling so remote. The views are phenomenal, private areas to walk, sunbathe and swim, everything is quaint and rustic yet comfortable and well-cared for. The house is perfect! Old and rustic, but well-maintained and clean. There is so much charm and character in the house and throughout the whole property. The entire wall facing the master bed is windows views the lake- what better way to fall asleep and wake up!? Great breeze in the house, we didn’t get super hot days, but I would imagine it would be bearable even without AC due to the shade, large amount of windows and fans. Slightly chilly at night but the heaters were great to take the edge off before bed. No complaints on the comfort level. Even though only a few acres, I still walked my dog and explored everyday feeling like there was more to discover! I’ve dealt with various members of the family years ago and this go round was just as pleasant. Lovely property owned and maintained by lovely people. My only regret is not coming back sooner. I’ll be back next year and every year after that!

The Halcyon property was wonderful and in addition to being very dog friendly, a perfect place to get away from it all with the family. Our 2 lab mixes had a blast running around and exploring the property. We stayed in the Charlene house which was extremely clean and quaint in addition to being the perfect size for the 4 of us. It has beautiful views and is steps away from the lake! The owners of the property were very friendly, helpful, and wanted to ensure they were there for us if we needed anything.

Beautiful location, very relaxing right on a peninsula extending into the lake just a short distance outside Lake George village. Very private. Perfect for swimming, boating, fishing and just relaxing. We all loved it.
