The house was a very large Victorian about a block from Wreck Lake in Spring Lake. A very nice section of town. The beach is walkable from the house, although biking it is probably better. The house is large enough for 2-3 family units. The kitchen and the baths have been recently remodeled. The owner/host is very gracious and helpful.

We gathered at Jeff's house for a three-generation family week at the beach during the times of social distancing. He was a terrific host. The place was perfect. (The pictures do not do it justice.) The house has plenty of room both inside and out. We had adults on the second floor, each of the 4 kids had their *own* room on the third floor (with one full living room to spare up there). The renovation of this 1880s house is done lovingly to preserve the bones and to bring in the conveniences (air conditioning, bathrooms, plumbing, closets, etc.) You can feel the history of the place, and get to enjoy the modern comforts too (including everyone showering after the beach and the water not freaking out). Given that we visited in the summer of 2020, outdoor space was very important to us and the place delivered. The wraparound porch was perfect for breakfasts and coffees, the picnic table under an umbrella was the ideal spot for lunches and dinners, and the upper deck of the porch was a hideaway (or the perfect perch to see the NJ Transit trains zip by.) We had a train enthusiast in our party and his glee at hearing an approaching locomotive was contagious. The NJ transit tracks are right across the street. When you are in the house or in the yard, you can’t see the train because the hedges are thick, but you can hear it. After a few passes, we all got used to it. It added a certain charm to the whole experience. We rented bikes from Jeff that shortened our walk to the beach and made it easy to explore the quaint town of Spring Lake. It was easy to drive to beach in the morning and park very close to the entrance. We sent one car over each day to bring beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels (and to make it easier for the octogenarian in our party to have energy to do laps in the stunning salt-water pool at the beach club.) Jeff is an extremely responsive host. (I say this as someone who has traveled for decades all around the world and stayed in all sorts of places.) He stayed in a cottage on the property for part of our week there, and he was elsewhere for another part. Regardless of where he was, Jeff was very responsive to questions I had (while not being intrusive). He stocked the house with all the beach gear you’d need. If you are looking for a comfortable getaway at the beach that is not a cookie-cutter experience, I highly recommend Jeff’s place. Book it.

This was the perfect house to rent for a large group. The house has lots of bedrooms and gathering areas. We were only 8 as we were trying to social distance, but under normal circumstances the house could easily accommodate 16 guests. The kitchen and bathrooms were recently updated and clean which is the most important thing to me. The owner, Jeffrey Holtz, was very helpful and easily reachable with any questions we had. All in all the perfect beach getaway.

This beautiful Victorian is a wonderful home for a large group of people that want to stay together to enjoy a wonderful time in Spring Lake. Jeff the host was an amazing communicator, provided lots of information and everything was exactly as promised. We were able to walk to the beach and restaurants (not around the corner but a nice 10-15 minutes to get to a lot of places on foot which was great). Ubers were super easy to get as well. One of the best things about the house is all of the private sleeping rooms and a lot of common area to spend time together. We hosted our boys and their friends and while there were a lot of them, it didn’t seem like it at all because it was so spacious and the rooms on the two different levels were very private. The kitchen was stocked with every supply you would need if you wanted to cook there as well. A great trip and would definitely stay again. Thanks for a great visit.

This was our first trip to Spring Lake and we stayed for 9 days. There were 9 adults, a toddler and an infant. The house was perfect for our family. There was plenty of space in the kitchen as multiple people prepared meals at the stove and at the island. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, glassware, silverware and any cookware you might need. There was plenty of seating for us to enjoy dinner together. The bedrooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the beach and pool and made use of the beach chairs and umbrellas stored in Jeff’s locker. Jeff was an attentive host. He met us on arrival, showed us the house, and even helped unload the car and carry bags to the bedrooms. He provided extra beach passes that came in handy so we could all enjoy the beach together. Thank you for your hospitality, Jeff.

This was a great overall experience, and the house was clean and perfect for a large group getaway!

This is one of the best properties for large groups on the Jersey Shore. We had a group of 15 for the 4th of July weekend and our group wanted to rebook for next year after our first day. The house is beautiful, spacious, and very clean. We have rented a lot of houses and Jeff is one of the best hosts we have ever had the pleasure of working with. He offered additional days at discounted rates, early / late check in/out, and gave us a bottle of wine on arrival. The location of this house is perfect for the beach and it the outdoor hedges offer a lot of privacy. Don’t think twice about booking this house - it is can’t miss. We look forward to returning next year!

We stayed a full week in August with our kids - now 6 adults - and one grandbaby. Walk to the beach, tons of room for everyone, and the kitchen has everything you should need for any meal. Jeff is a super nice and accommodating host - strikes a wonderful balance between staying on top of what he needs to in order to keep the house in good nick while providing a very relaxed and comfortable level of freedom and privacy. One of our daughters decided to stay another week when she found that the next tenant had cancelled so she, her husband and the baby were obviously happy with the place! We would certainly go back.

MY family of 14 had a great week in Spring Lake! The house was the best. Great location, short walk to beach, big living room and excellent kitchen. Ample bedrooms and 12 people could shower after the beach in one hour and always had hot water. Highly recommend and Jeff H. was great and very accommodating. Phil S.

First of all, I just want to thank Jeff for our recent stay. He was very communicative leading up to our stay, and was more than accommodating when we asked to check in early and check out late. The pictures do not do this house justice. The kitchen is new and a great layout for cooking. There are multiple dining room tables, and space to lounge. The bedrooms were all spacious and the bathrooms were all nice and clean. There were plenty of towels, and Jeff had plenty of beach chairs waiting for us on the porch when we arrived. Days before we arrived, he asked if we needed more than 7 beach passes (house comes with 7), and offered to procure them for us with no issues. He checked in on us throughout the weekend to make sure we didn't need anything or have any issues. He even left us a bottle of wine upon our arrival which was very nice. Honestly couldn't have asked for an easier stay. Approx. 13 minute walk to the beach, and 2-3 miles from Manasquan and Belmar bars and nightlife. Convenient location. Wrap around porch was so nice to eat and drink outside on! Thanks Jeff!

This charming Victorian in Spring Lake was clean, neat, and very comfortable for our large family. Everything we needed was here and the owner, Jeff was very attentive to any questions we had about the property and Spring Lake. We had a wonderful time!

Our extended family of 14 had a wonderful experience in this old Victorian style home in Spring lake. The photos online of this home do not do it justice. Large guestrooms and living spaces and a wraparound veranda made for a spacious and welcoming experience. One of the most beautiful beaches on the Jersey shore is only a short walk from the house. The owner is nearby and very responsive to any requests we had. It was a wonderful experience!

Our group stayed an extended weekend mid-June. The house is spacious and comfortable with plenty of room for hosting friends and family. Jeff is an excellent host. Flexible and willing to offer his recommendations. Would 100% recommend renting with Jeff. Smooth process and beautiful home!

Jeff is a very responsive, helpful and friendly landlord, but I feel it is important for prospective renters to know that he lives directly behind the house in the carriage house, and also that the house is situated about thirty feet from NJ Transit train tracks, at an intersection. The trains blow their horns in both directions as they approach and pass the intersection -- every hour on the hour, and sometimes every twenty minutes, late into the night. It's loud, like someone standing on your porch blowing an air horn. Had we known this, we would have chosen another property. If you are deep sleepers and can take the noise, the house is beautiful and charming and comes at a great price for the area. The access to Jeff's beach club is totally fabulous -- seriously, a dream! And Jeff does a great job as a landlord. Heads up that there is a fair amount of work expected of tenants in the way out, with a mandatory early checkout (10 am). Including taking the recycling to the dump if it is not pickup day, even though we paid for the extra cleaning. We were very disappointed to find out about the train after the fact; hence the two star rating.

We enjoyed our stay at the home. It had enough bedrooms and gathering rooms to have small and large group conversations or activities. The rooms were roomy enough and there were sufficient bathrooms to accommodate our family reunion. We travelled from across the US and Australia to gather for our reunion. The locker at the pool was very convenient as we did not have to carry beach chairs, umbrellas to the beach. The home is very comfortable for a large family to gather. we've chosen various places for our immediate family reunion and this has been one of the best for us. Will definitely consider it for future gatherings. Jeff was a great host, provided us with a bottle of wine and took time to chat with us. His written item regarding the house, restaurants and other places were very informational and useful. We enjoyed all aspects of the house and its offering. We highly recommend the home to anyone thinking of gathering with family or friends.

Beautiful Victorian home within blocks to beach. We rented it for a family gathering and it was perfect. Well equipped modern kitchen, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Spring Lake is a great beach town. We had a blast. Jeff is an amazing host. We couldn't have asked for more!

Jeff's house had everything we needed: plenty of space, remodeled kitchen, gas grill, beach towels, games, patios, etc. I came here for a reunion with 14 friends and we had no trouble housing everyone with comfortable beds and big bathrooms. We cooked all of our meals and ate on the big wraparound deck. We spent 2 days on a clean, uncrowded beach that was walking distance from Jeff's home. There was nothing we lacked, and I hope we can come back next summer. Thank you Jeff!

We stayed at Jeffrey's house for a total of 3 nights for a wedding at The Breakers. There were 7 couples (14 people) and there was still plenty of space! Each couple had their own private room with a queen bed. There are so many bathrooms in the house that there was never a line of people waiting. The house was absolutely perfect for us; throughout the entire weekend people were commenting on how lucky we were that this house was available. It is most ideal for an older crowd, I would question how suitable it would be for children when considering the numerous flights of stairs and potentially fragile decor. There were three levels: the first floor with the kitchen, living room, dining area; the second and third floors contained multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. There was a wrap around porch on both the first and second floor which served as an absolutely wonderful area to sit in the mornings with coffee and breakfast. If you are looking for a large house that can comfortably accommodate a large group of adults for a reasonable price, this is definitely the one to choose! It was certainly a rare gem. I searched dozens of homes in the surrounding towns and Jeffrey's home was the only one that allowed for this much space at a reasonable rate. Jeffrey stayed in the guest house next door so it was nice to know that he was nearby if we had any questions. He was very accommodating and showed an extraordinary degree of hospitality. If we ever have a need to return to Spring Lake we will absolutely be staying here! Do not waste anymore time looking for another house, just call Jeffrey. You won't find another home that is this comfortable and this affordable.

You will love every minute of your stay in this spacious, gracious home in Spring Lake. Jeff, the owner, could not have been more friendly and helpful whether it was recommending restaurants or procuring bicycles for us to rent during our stay. Our favorite part of the vacation was taking advantage of the beautiful wrap around porch. The linen service was a huge bonus, as were the beach passes. Love this house, love Jeff, and love Spring Lake!

We had a an absolutely wonderful stay at Jeff's gorgeous home in spring lake. More than enough rooms for our party of 14. Two outdoor porches and a perfectly sized backyard made the house even more special. Highly recommend staying at this beach gem.
