Great accommodation surrounded by the jungle. Food in hotel restaurant was great, so were the cocktails and drinks. Great value for money, friendly staff. Great location for early safari. Great range of breakfast food options.
Mosquito nets around beds would have been preferred given the location

Our stay at Ela Camp Udawalawe was simply perfect. Upon arrival, we received a room upgrade on the house. Our room was beautiful, spacious, with AC and warm water. The staff was extremely kind, attentive and helpful. We also had a very nice breakfast and dinner there. I cannot recommend Ela Camp more, if we ever come back, we will stay only there.
We could do without the birds nest on the top of our ceiling, but then, you come to Udawalawe for safari :)

This place is amazing! Hidden behind the damm and the main road is this very well maintained complex with Excellent rooms, beds, pool and common area. The best rooms we have had so far in this price range. Wonderful host and attendent in restaurant. Great local food. Best recommendations

Kamer was zeer teleurstellend. Geen extra wc papier (na 2x naar de wc gaan was het rolletje op), geen warm water, elektriciteit is uitgevallen waardoor er geen airco meer was, op Booking.com lees je dat je voor 6 euro het diner kan nemen, dit klopt helaas ook niet, badkamer was niet grondig gekuist, …

We stayed one night and enjoyed a warm welcome and a very comfortable and enjoyable time. The staff were very friendly and helpful when we wanted to arrange transport, leave our bags after checking out and they also offered to do a very late breakfast on our return from an early safari. The hotel is situated perfectly for safari and the elephant transit home. It’s very quiet and peaceful, there is even a big lizard that lives under the pool! We didn’t actually use the pool but it looked nice. The rooms were comfortable. We experienced a power cut overnight but this wasn’t the hotel’s fault. All in all great value for money.

accomodation in modern climatized cottage, you have feeling living in jungle.
i must wait for lot of things - bringing a beer, bring adapter was problem for one whole day etc.

Very beautiful facilities, the spaces are really nicely designed and wellkept, management and staff very helpful and professional. Super nice pool and fantastic traditional dinner and fish’n chips. Also organized safari tour for us with great guide who knew a lot about the different animals and really cared for the animals and environment. The best place we’ve stayed at in Sri Lanka and really very good value for your money! We’d love to come back!

best in price-value! everything is completely new, very clean and comfortable. the staff is super freindly and food was very good! the pool is very big too. during the night it was loud due to all the animal in the jungle, so you really feel like sleeping outside.

Only 1 staff spoke English, if he's not here they have to phone him which complicated quite everything.
The most annoying thing was that we had to order our dinner as early as possible (we came back from a safari at 6pm and they wouldn't let us go to the rooms if we didn't order for our 8pm dinner. Half the card was out.

The room was exceptional, an extra large and very homely with good A/C, comfortable beds, sofa and basic furniture, The bathroom was clean and large enough. The pool was alright. Dining area was very refreshing. We were asked our preferences of the breakfast and was ready in time.
800 meters long access road from main road wasn't the ideal for vehicles with low ground clearance. Some of the staff rooms were adjacent to guest room and they looked untidy and open. wasn't pleasing when the guest ladies are around.

It’s new and clean and has a pool. It’s a quiet boutique style hotel with lovely grounds.
It says in the fine print that they take cash only... wish the fine print wasn’t so small :)
The Sri Lankan food at the restaurant is great. The western food needs help.
The staff rooms are between the hotel rooms, pool and restaurant which means you get a good view of people sleeping every time you walk by. It’s not the biggest deal but it does take away from the rest of the ambience which is delightful.

Small hotel, well located (5-10’ to the National park entrance). The staff is very kind and helpful. We booked the Safari with their services, it costs us 120$ for 4 person (entrance tickets included).
We stayed in a room (not a tent) which was small but correct and clean.

The property is beautiful and the grounds are absolutely stunning and very well maintained. We were the only guests in the whole hotel. The staff were amazing, they opened the whole place for us , the lovely decked restaurant area... lit the pool... even went to a nearby hotel to get wine for me! The food was lovely, they gave us lots of Sri Lankan dishes to try.
They also arranged the Safari for us, and took on to Colombo.
The hotel is very remote, there is nothing within walking distance to it. It’s basically a base to the safari. Also bear in mind that you barely get any phone signal & the WiFi isn’t great.
The only tiny improvement would be the improve the WiFi (barely useable for us). But when you consider the location it’s completely understandable!
