Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Quiet neighborhood, steps to marina and house was warmly appointed with all the amenities of home. Only drawback were the small bathrooms. Very clean and our adult children enjoyed the many places to entertain inside and outside the house. Homeowners were very responsive to our questions.

We Enjoyed the property with my wife and adult children. We really appreciated the convenient location and nice amenities at the house including AC, which you don't always need on MV, but was a good week for it. Fun to hang out in backyard after the beach and use outdoor shower! Would definitely stay again!

We had a great time at Sankofa. My husband, our two littles, and two grandparents came with us. We were able to walk to the beach, walk to shopping, and walk to all the food! The house wasn't 'on top of' downtown too - which was nice - because it wasn't loud which allowed the kids not to wake up at night. Overall - would recommend!

This place is everything and more. We came for a girls weekend and the house was so cute. So clean, great location. 10 min walk down town. The owner was so nice she answered all my questions and was so accommodating with everything we asked for. We will 100% be booking again and can’t wait! Can’t say enough on how great this place was. Outdoor patio was so cute the only thing was the twinkle lights we couldn’t get to work which made it a little dark but other than that zero complaints.

This place is perfect, had a great stay and enjoyed the Vineyard. Really like how the house was updated and the owners are great to work with.

We had a terrific time at this lovely home. There was plenty of space for our group. We really enjoyed all the outdoor areas. The kitchen was well stocked as we cooked many dinners at home. It was our first time on Martha’s Vineyard and hope to return!

Our stay at Sankofa was wonderful. The house was comfortable, clean and well appointed, the communication was stellar, and the location can't be beat. My favorite part of the house, however, was the backyard! Between the hummingbirds that visited during the daylight hours to the twinkling lights that turned on in the evening, this space was truly magical.

We had such a lovely time at the Saunders' home! The property was very well kept and the neighborhood was perfect for walks into town! Communication with the owners was always quick and pleasant :) Thanks again!

My family and I had the most enjoyable time at the spectacularly beautiful home of Mark and Kathryn. Let me first say that the decor was transformative and instantly put our family in a warm Ghanan spirit to start our vacation. Their home was immaculately clean and fresh and each room was equally breathtaking!! I had not even started to enjoy the Vineyard because I was overwhelmed with the comfort that Sankofa House offered (it was tough to leave everyday because I just want to relax and enjoy the peace of our rental)!! Every iminity was available throughout the house and we loved every moment. Marc and Katryn (the homeowners) are beautiful people and I had the extra perk to actually be able to tell them in person how much I enjoyed their home. I could not have organized a more perfect vacation. I look forward to returning next year to take in the beauty and hospitality that only Martha's Vineyard and it's homeowners can give. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at this property. I'm so sad it was a little too chilly to take advantage of the gorgeous backyard! I was enchanted by the fairy lights in the shrub wall. House was spotless and easy to find, a short walk to all the shops. There is a restaurant literally 250 feet away and a convenience store not much further away. The owners were very communicative and check in was accomplished via an app on your phone, which was new to me but very easy to use. The only thing I'd say to future travelers is that if anyone in your party has a hard time with stairs, this may not be the property for you. All the bedrooms are up a narrow staircase with shallow steps that have a lip on the edge to prevent you from slipping off but is really uncomfortable on bare feet, and people with big feet will have trouble fitting them on these stairs. However, this is a very comfortable lounge downstairs that is about the size of a twin bed, so that could easily be a sleeping are for anyone who has trouble with the stairs. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

We loved it! Very charming house with all the comforts and conveniences of home in a quiet neighborhood. A cozy backyard with a few seating areas and a fire pit to enjoy in the evenings. Walking distance to the shopping area in Oaks Bluff. Looking forward to coming back someday.
