Great location, fantastic house, the layout of the house is perfect for a family. The patio between the two sections is brilliant. Thanks for the BBQ,fire pit and the inside fire place. Had a blast at Orchid Beach.

Great house, very comfortable. Lotsa crockery, cutlery etc but no toaster ? Friendly welcome from caretaker and wife. Had a weird experience on the last night when a shower screen exploded into pieces around 11:30. Guys next door came running thinking a tree had fallen on the house! Caretaker came over next morning and we got all the glass out. If it was me I’d just install a shower curtain. Overall very fun stay in clean well equipped house. No power points in bathroom. We will return

Great place to stay for a large family or group of friends, nice to have two bathrooms (can be rare at Orchid Beach) and will let you stay for just a couple of nights, not a minimum week like so many other places.

Our stay was comfortable and perfect for the family. Close to Waddi Point where we spent Anzac Day with all the amenities we needed. We've booked again to stay net year!

Property was nothing fancy, but that’s exactly what we wanted. Heaps of indoor and outdoor space, great fire area, and clean. Caretaker was really nice and helped us out with some things we needed but otherwise was nowhere to be seen (yet always available just next door). A fantastic bloke :)

The favourite part of our family Queensland holiday. The house was perfect for what we needed, comfortable, quiet and a great base to explore the island. Communication with the owner was excellent.

Orchid Beach Retreat was the perfect choice for our group. Plenty of space for all of us. We had everything we needed in regards to power, and having a chest freezer to store our food for 6 days was a great bonus. The breezeway is brilliant, kept us cool on the hot days. Will absolutely book here again.

Great place to stay

In the first two hours, we had the property manager walk into our group and start harassing people, stating we had drained the batteries and violated our agreement. We had not used any electrical equipment, only the gas stove. He made our guests feel uncomfortable and that was only the start. He then would enter the place whilst we were not there, unplug anything in a socket, turned off the oven that was cooking our dinner, which destroyed our dinner that evening, and we had to throw it away. the oven was gas. We brought our own inverters, battery, and power, yet this person decided that we were rouge and continued to harass us. He disconnected our system, causing issues It could have caused permanent damage. The girls refused to stay in the house alone due to him always snooping around. He accused us of running our fridge off their system, draining the power, it was an Eva Cool car fridge, that only had a 12v cigarette plug on it. One look at the LCD revealed there was no power. We were accused of using a slow cooker and depleting the battery, yet it was disassembled and cold and empty. This was in the first two hours of being there! We only had people for the beds provided, we did not bring in any additional beds, chairs, tables, or the like, yet this guy stated we had camper trailers in the yard and a bogan-based party. He even reported us to the Police for a "Large gathering" He continued to harass me, even provoking violence, I had to call him out on a number of occasions. He told the property owner that the neighbors were making complaints about our noise. Yet if they were not with us, we were kicking back with them! We went out of our way to respect the property, and even when people came to join us for dinner, we parked cars outside the property. The Act is very clear- It states "the Property Manager/owner cannot say who can visit the Tennant at the property" Ironically, our neighbors, great people, had more people staying in their place, smaller than ours, when you added kids, parents, and partners. Yet we were constantly harassed, even before dawn. Everyone was extremely annoyed and it really affected our peaceful enjoyment. One of our friends, He and his wife could not sleep in the house due to poor ventilation, so he spent the night in his rooftop tent and then moved down to the camping area. The caretaker could not grasp this and decided he was camping! I could go on& on. We want a full refund

Property exceeded expectations from site photos. caretaker was very accessible and knowledgeable to area and helpful. communications from property owner prior to our stay had us feeling confident.

Great accom at Orchid Beach if you dont need a view of the ocean. Everything was great except the bathroom/ bedroom layout needs a review to make it more user friendly for 3 couples. Otherwise facillty is great.

We didn't make it due to unforeseen events our car blew up but spoke to the owner who is the legend and is willing to let us make a new date which is appreciated and respected

Such a beautiful & relaxing location, it was a great family getaway for us. The house was very well presented, spacious & well equipped with all the necessities for a worry free holiday. Thank you Andrew, we will definitely be back again!

The separate living area and bedroom wing with a breezeway between with ample table/seating was perfect for our group. The kids could sleep in without being disturbed by the adults in the living area. There was an outdoor shower which was great for when you came back from the beach covered in sand, and a firehose to wash down the car. Separate bedrooms and dual bathrooms were also ideal for our 2 families sharing the accomodation.
