Construction

The main positive for us was the location. Azuleixo is very close to the canals and restaurants so as a guest here you feel like you are in the centre of town. Other good points: the two double bedrooms are spacious and of equal size so if you are travelling as two couples, neither couple needs to feel like they drew the short straw. And the host as well as his local agent, Dina, responded very quickly to any questions we had.

The negative for us was the construction site across the road. Both bedrooms overlook it so there is really no escaping the view. The park shown in the property's pictures is no longer there; I understand that a municipal underground carpark is being constructed and the park will eventually be reinstated on top of it, but anyway for us it was a but of a shock on arrival and not the view we'd expected to see.

The location is great, it is just a 5 minutes walk to everywhere.

I don't think there is anything that we don't like. If I have to say, then it might be the construction site next to the accommodation, but it didn't bother us at all.

The location is very central, the flat is good and spacious and linen is clean.

The location is pretty good, right in front of Rossio square. But bear in mind that, since the end of 2021, the square is under a massive park building, it’s been totally destroyed and the view of the flat is no longer the beautiful green and spacious park but a construction site. Luckily, I stayed there during a weekend, but Mon-Fri the noise would be an absolute nightmare. Even the water of the flat has turned yellowish and smelly, you can no longer use it for drinking (and I would also recommend not to cook with it). In fact, the smell that comes from the pipes is so strong that it takes over the entire flat from time to time. Another very low point that made me feel extremely uncomfortable is a €150,00 deposit fee that you need to pay cash at the check in. This information is not at Booking.com page, it is written in the small letters of the email you receive from Booking.com with the confirmation of your stay. But you can only see that AFTER confirming your stay, you won’t be aware of this anytime before. I even didn’t read the e-mail small print, so I wasn’t prepared and I didn’t have the money in cash at the check-in. Dina, who received us at the flat, didn’t seem surprised (apparently this happens quite often, people never read those small caps anyway) and insisted that I paid immediately by transferring the money via MBWAY, which I had to do, otherwise “in theory”, she said, I couldn’t stay. Well, since arguing after driving long hours for a weekend bday escape wouldn’t make my day any better. I think this could be handled in many different ways by the host, e.g: sending a message 24h before requesting to read the “pormenores” in the email, where the deposit fee is mentioned, at least you don’t make your guests feel uncomfortable and in a trap.

Stayed in December so really appreciated the 3 heaters available, only had to use for a short while to heat the rooms. Great kitchen facilities, Good location near the center of town, but also nice and quiet. good view from the window. Would stay there again.

The apartment has perfect location in the centre just at the canal. All the city sights are just few streets away. Our host Dina was very nice and helpful 😊 The apartment has everything you need for one night only or full week.

Everything else

Tv was not smart or smart device attached so we were entitled only to Portuguese television. The 5th person had to sleep in a folding bed which was low quality.

Everything was perfect! I would like to stay again.
