Everything! Maria is an amazing hostess, very friendly and flexible. Provided us with some treats on arrival. The house is very well located, super clean and with everything that you need for a pleasant and comfortable stay. The view from the balcony is beautiful!

As a hiker without a car, it was quite annoying to commute from Canico, but it's hardly the owners fault.

Location was just perfect 10minutes from aeroport and 15minutes from Funchal, the property has private parking and bus stop just across the road. There is a coffee shop and Supermarket just down the road. The apartment was very good, and an amazing host that treated us with some traditional custard cakes and fresh bananas the apartment is modern and very clean. In the evening it was very quiet just perfect for a great nights sleep, definitely would stay there again.

Apartment is very comfortable & clean. Small balcony with ocean view was a nice place for having a dinner. Maria was a great host, she waited for us with local cakes and helped us with check in day after our planned arrival (as we couldnt land on the island earlier). Definitely great place to stay - location is good, parking place is also right in front of the building.

- It was quite cold at the end of March 2022, the apartment was 16-18 degrees. But Maria provided us with an electric heater, which made the bedroom very comfortable. - In the morning you can hear the neighbors, this is not a problem if you close the bedroom's door.

Spotless, all amenities you could possibly need (oven, dishwasher, toaster, washing machine, microwave, huge fridge, fast wi-fi, big TV etc). Maria was extremely welcoming, showed us the dedicated parking space right next to the entrance and treated us to a box of traditional Madeiran pastries. Could not ask for anything more. We were on a hiking holiday, so the washing machine, hairdryer and large shower was much appreciated. There was even some olive oil and seasonings in the kitchen. The bed was comfortable and there were no noises from the street.

There is no heating (as in most accomodations on the island) so it's around 18-19 degrees Celsius in the apartment in January/February so take that into account. However there are thick blankets and hot water in the shower so keeping warm was not an issue for us. Also, the neighbours were sometimes audible in the evenings, but unless you plan to go to sleep very early, that shouldn't be a problem.

There was absolutely nothing to complain about. Flat was perfectly clean, equipped with everything what is needed. It is big and comfortable, has a nice balcony view. Location is quiet, there is a school in a front of kitchen window but it doesn’t bother at all. Private parking place is included. If You are not looking for the place with noisy night life:) it is perfect. Ps. Maria thank You again for everything.

Only a few small improvement ideas: A bit more cutlery would help the dishwasher to not run daily.

The place was spotlessly clean. Everything we needed was provided for in terms of facilities and utensils. The location was peaceful and serene, just how we like it. The hostess Maria was fully attentive to our needs and was a really warm and friendly hostess. She met us with a gift of traditional Madeira creme patisserie tarts, which was very welcoming of her. Thank you, Maria!

We have stayed in a lot of self-catered accommodation and this is one of the best "kitted out" apartments with close to everything you can imagine except your food. You can truly live here like a local. The views are fabulous and if you aren't staring out the window, there is a very large screen TV that has Netflix capability... great for watching the fireworks while we kept our little doggie safe from the sounds. The air is a bit cooler up here so happy to have cozy warm throw blankets for the evenings. The mattress is very comfortable and the pillows and towels soft and fluffy. The building is quiet and the few neighbors we met were friendly. One thing it lacked was a coffee maker of some kind. However, there is a little store and pasteleria across the street. Further up the main street with a good little store and bakery. At the bottom of the street, 2 min walk, there is a nice new Tapas bar that was very good, and well priced. And five minutes walk down the main street there is Alexandrino, which has delicious grilled meat and regional foods. Very nice owners at both places and almost everyone speaks English.

The location shown on the Booking.com website was wrong so double check this especially if you do not have a car. There is a bus stop across the street however the times were difficult to work out and sometimes spread out quite a long time (hours). With that said, we took the #87 from Funchal and it only took about 15 minutes. A taxi is £15-20 for 2 people into Funchal. Expect to be barked at A LOT if walking the neighborhood with a dog. Apparently a lot of bored, pent-up dogs. :-(
