I truly enjoyed this property for Its location and layout. The house is very cozy and the outdoor backyard is awesome. I hope I get to stay here again soon.

We loved our stay in the Alberta Arts District. The home is beautifully updated and was well stocked with essentials. The location is perfect and is surrounded by great restaurants, ice cream, shops and other places to visit. We’ll look forward to another visit in future.

We were greeted upon arrival by the hosts and felt immediately welcomed to our lower level apartment. The location could not be beat. We loved eating and shopping in the friendly neighborhood. Highly recommend this place to stay. We will be back!

We had a great experience from check-in until the time we left. The place is nicely appointed and has a Portland artsy feel. We were able to have family together to celebrate my son’s college graduation in a comfortable space. The only thing that was a challenge is finding street parking in the busy neighborhood. My mother-in-law uses a cane and can’t always walk long distances so it took some persistence to find a good spot. But the area is fun and safe.

The property provided a great space for a long weekend with friends. The neighborhood was walkable and filled with shops and restaurants. It also provided easy access to freeways if you're planning to travel around a bit.

My family and I came to visit family in Portland and had a wonderful time all thanks to the beautiful home we were in. All of the little details and recommendations from Michelle helped tremendously. We did not have to use are vehicle at all! We had family come over and visit and they loved the rental just as much as we did. The home was spacious, comfortable, organized and very unique. Thank you for an amazing birthday week! We definitely hope to rent this space in the future.

Loved our stay!!!

Our stay at High Gear was absolutely exceptional. Three generations gathering together for the holidays - Grandma, three sisters, and their children, some meeting for the first time. That in itself was special, but having such a lovely space that immediately felt like home was truly delightful. The location was perfect - close to the airport for pickups, short drive to ice skating and Zoo exploration, and parking was easy to find. The teenagers loved people watching on Alberta! I wish we had more time to enjoy the many shops, murals, and restaurants nearby, but Bamboo and Tin Shed were great! The home is so well designed, the perfect blend of historical charm and modern flair. We loved reading about its history! The beds were very comfortable, especially after two overnight flights. Space was ample for our group of 10, the kitchen was well-stocked to execute several large meals, and we loved the incorporation of sustainable products and practices. Michelle and Klaas are perfect hosts - attentive, generous, and clearly looking out for their guests to have a memorable experience. I will absolutely come back and stay at their property!

Our multigenerational family (grandparents, parents, and kids) had a truly lovely stay at this hip, quintessentially Portland old-meets-modern house. Located right in the heart of our favorite Portland neighborhood, we all loved eating takeout from Montelupo Market on the ambient back patio and found the house equipped with everything we needed and more. The delightful owner Michelle is the kind of host you want befriend. This is your dreamy urban yet cozy home-away-from home, we’ll be back!

We had a great experience staying here. The house was clean and welcoming. There were charming touches that made the house unique. It was extremely easy to check in and out. On-site parking would have been the only improvement but we were always able to find a spot within a block or two.

Really great

We live in Portland and needed a short stay away from home. This apartment is in such a great spot! Cafes, shops, cool people, proximity to main streets, the Convention Center, really everything. The property has a great patio in nice weather, and despite being on a bustling street this unit is entered from the back and feels very private. The interiors are stylish and nicely done. The kitchen equipment all works and there are even a couple sharp knives. Beds are nice, bedding cozy. A/C was a plus for us on a couple hot days.

Beautiful rental!!! The location was amazing, great food and coffee was all in walking distance. The rental was clean, well stocked and the owners were great at recommending food, coffee, shopping and activities. My family enjoyed their time in Portland and we would definately stay here again.

We very much enjoyed our stay on Alberta in the Lower Gear. The location is fantastic - coffee shop right across the street and lots of other fun spots, food, bars, wine bars around!

My daughter came up to Portland in 2016, we found ourselves coming back to the Alberta area several times. The location is/was perfect and the property is gorgeous and the Honey Momma’s and probiotic sodas in the fridge were fabulous. Thank you for a great stay!

This VRBO was clean & tidy and in a very convenient part of Portland. The Alberta Arts District is lovely and very safe/walkable.

We told our wonderful host, Michelle, that we would be happy to live in Low Gear on a permanent basis, and we meant it! This is a beautifully designed and appointed apartment - an elegant sanctuary in the heart of a thriving neighbourhood. Everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and fun was on hand in the suite or steps away on Alberta. We plan to make this our home away from home every time we visit Portland.

Great communication and location

We chose this place because we have several family members who live in Portland and other family members who live 7 hours away. We came across the country so we could all be together and celebrate my husband's 80th birthday. We stayed on to celebrate Christmas and visit. The space was perfect for all of it.

My family and I rented the Low Gear house. It was perfect for our family of 4. Great location, great patio to entertain our local friends, and the house had everything we needed. We would definitely come back here again on our next visit to Portland.
