We had a great time recently on our trip to Isla! There was a total of 10 of us and the house and backyard were great. I will say, I don’t think the house sleeps 10. It sleeps 8 comfortable. There are couches that our kids slept on, but not enough blankets and covers for them. That is the only hiccup we had. All in all, the house and hostess were amazing

We loved our stay here. The home was great, clean and meet all our needs. The sound of the crashing waves from the roof palapa Is next level relaxation. The location is the PERFECT place to stay on the island that allows you to get anywhere in a short cart ride. Loved our stay and will be back!!

We went on a fishing trip and this place did not disappoint! Beautiful accommodations and centrally located to everything on the island. Good places to eat within a short walk. Views were excellent and my wife is insisting I take her next year!

We rented both homes, great for a group of 10 guys. Close to the marina and town. The perfect place

Property was as advertised. A few positive surprises: 1) East wall of property is right on the sea wall, not across a road like most on the east side (btw east side is ocean side with crashing waves while west side is bay side and is calm like a lake) 2) Little grocery store 50 yards away and Mike's Pizza south down the road act as good markers to find your way home and are both great little businesses. 3) El Gato ... the cool black cat and iguanas were fun outback. Detractors: 1) fridge was bad, only marginally cooled, door wouldn't seal up 2) the upper balcony is wonderful for 15 minutes and then never used again because there is no fridge up there. Its not that we are too lazy to trek down three floors of stairs for drinks and snacks, it is that one has to break away from the conversation. A fridge, ice, and processor up there would make a huge positive difference. 3) The pool is nice but no one uses it because it is shaded in the afternoon and evening. Overall, exceeded expectations and we would like to stay here again if returning to Isla Mujeres. BTW, to those new to Isla Mujeres, it is much quieter and slower than Cancun. Most people get around on golf carts or mopeds. There are a few things to do/see and overall should be considered a relax and take it easy trip not a go go and do trip.

The AC wasn’t working the first day we got there. A guy came the next day to fix it and over all the rest of the stay was nice.

Traveled with our 2 sons and a few of their friends. Our first time to Isla. The location was great! The house was ok...oven didn’t work, the toilet wouldn’t fill and TV didn’t work (all were rectified). The A/CS upstairs didn’t work very well. There were no extra pillows, blankets or towels, which would have been helpful. Since I have never been to Isla, I don’t have anything to compare it to, so I would rate it as average.

Great location to watch beautiful sunrise is right on the ocean.Had several young adults staying with us in the house. It was perfect for them the house was a little rough in spots however very clean. The pool was a little dirty and the filter wasn’t working. But the kids enjoyed the location anyway being right on the ocean was perfect. There was only one safe in the house I wish there would’ve been one for every room but we made it work. Never spoke to the manager but the people who clean the house the one time while we were there was cordial. If you plan on renting this house be prepared to buy everything that you need it should draw way

Our stay was amazing. The location was perfect in a great little neighborhood walking distance to Carribean Brisas and Mango Cafe. The pool was terrific and the ocean views were spectacular. The property manager stopped by to check on us and they supplied more towels after we requested them. This was perfect for our group of 4 couples. We'd highly recommend.

VRBO mistakenly rented us a property that was no longer available and shouldn’t have been listed. We discovered 3 days before traveling that we had no place to stay. Needless to say we were in a panic. VRBO was initially fairly responsive but then became fairly unresponsive. Emails were not answered in a timely fashion and telephone numbers didn’t work. We were a party of 8 so we needed a larger house and were really concerned about whether there would be a suitable replacement found. We spent 24 very anxious hours. In the end, VRBO came through for us. They found us a great replacement house and they covered the difference in cost. The crediting and rebilling was done accurately. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you, VRBO. All is forgiven.

This property is beautiful. It has perfect spaces for every couple or family to have their own room. Irma- the housekeeper is always around and checking on the supplies. This house made our vacation complete!

Amazing views, plenty of space for 17 people, large pool !! Would stay here again & refer it to anyone

This place known locally as El Castilllo Maya 2 is a great house. It exceeded my expectations from the listing here. We were fortunate to have the owners staying next door during our stay in El Castillo Maya 1. They were very gracious and helpful. Our first visit to Isla Mujeres and I’d love to come back. Things to know- this is more mid-Island than close to Playa Norte where the main beaches are and the shopping. Some will like the respite from the noise and action. If you like being in the thick of it then stay in Playa Norte. Everything is easily reachable by golf cart or taxi. It’s also conveniently close to the main super market. Also while this is ocean front, there is no beach here and really on this side of the island. The carribbean side is mainly rugged. So you have a nice pool and ocean side view but don’t expect to walk into the water or lay on the beach here. If you want beaches go to Playa Norte or any of the beach clubs on the bay side. Also the Palapa rooftop is amazing! It’s a great place with all those caveats, so enjoy!

The property was perfect. The location is very central and easy to go to the south beaches as well as the north beaches. The check in process was easy. Had one small issue that was quickly resolved. We all had a great time.

Not only was the property great, one of the people in our party left their iPad behind. The owners coordinated with us to get it returned which was immensely appreciated.

Unparalled ocean views and gentle breezes. The perfect balance of luxury and practicality. Located central on the island so easy to get to everything but also peaceful and relaxing.

Overall, this was a great house and location for a large group of my family. The space was large enough for entertaining and the rooms were quite spacious. The house sits on the middle of the island and takes about 10 minutes by golf cart to get to the North, which is a bit more active. It is close to a couple small stores to buy and basics you may need and a quick 10-minute drive to the larger supermarkets. The pool and outdoor area were great, although the time of year we were there it was very windy and hard to use the outdoor areas. A few complaints: The house was a bit dirty when we checked in. The kitchen utensils were not clean and the house overall was a little dirty. The kitchen has just the bare minimums. Prepare to buy everything from salt, soap, sponges, paper towels etc. You will also need to provide your own soaps, shampoos, etc. for the bathrooms. For the amount of money, we paid per night, I expected more. We also had some issues with one of the air conditioners and lack of hot water. These were both fixed quickly. The house could use a grill as well. Overall, good stay, good location, but did not fully meet expectations for the money paid.

The house was good for the price. It is very windy so being outside by the pool or on the rooftop was hard. We spent the days at other beaches. The housekeeping was lacking as we didn’t get any fresh towels until we finally had to ask. The location of the house is great, very close to playa Norte by golf cart. Overall it was a good experience.
