Unfortunately, the stay was less then ideal. The view is gorgeous and the home is very cozy but the heat was broken all weekend and it was super cold. The manager brought wood for the fire & space heaters but it didn’t do much to help heat the house at night and the use of the electric heaters blew the fuse so I had to reset the fuse box multiple times. Overall, it was a frustrating trip in a beautiful house.

Everyone in my family loved the location and view of this place. We did have a small problem with the bathroom door but it was addressed immediately. The property is a few minutes from the nature center, it was comfortable and could not have wished for better I really appreciate the place and i know my parents and my brothers also enjoyed every minute of it. I highly recommend it.

Sunset Perches views are amazing - but unfortunately - that seems to be all it has going for it. I had issues upon initial booking and when I got there - the property is old and worn and not worthy of a “luxury” listing. If you’re looking for views and solitude - this place fits the bills but no AC or fans during hot summer days made the place uncomfortable - not to mention hot tub not working and house in need of some care and attention. Would not stay here again for the price

This property was incredible, the nature lover will love the views from every angle. A rustic decor with antiques. very clean, had everything we needed. The hot tub and view made you feel like you were part of the forest. Secluded yet close to town, and hiking trails.

Views are incredible! Kitchen has everything you need for cooking. It's about a 8 minute drive to the village. Saw other reviews about people saying the place is a bit run down. I would agree but frankly when I go to stay in a place in Idyllwild I am not expecting luxury settings. I'm looking for a funky, fun, place that will allow dogs and hopefully have some awesome views and this place met all my criteria. We are looking forward to renting this place again!

We all love the floor plan of the property because it allowed for privacy amongst 4 adults. The deck was espectacular with plenty of space and a magnificent view. The propane grill on the deck made cooking fun. The kitchen is very well equipped for different kinds of cooking. The hot tub works well and offers a beautiful view while you are in it….definitely a plus. The house is decorated with plenty of character and many fun pieces all around the house. Overall. It was a wonderful stay and the fact that is pet friendly is another plus. It could improve in cleanliness and mattress comfort.

We arrived during very hot weather. The house could not accommodate. No working ceiling fan. No means of keeping the house cool except the floor fans provided by property management. House was approximately 90 degrees until 8/9 pm each night. Blinds on the windows need to be replaced. Some had been removed and not replaced. Main access door screen on to deck off the track and basically unusable. Throw pillows need washing. Couch had slight rips in fabric. Railings on deck are ready to be replaced. Somewhat unsafe. Bathroom shower drips. Deck had a place for an umbrella but it was not put up. Gutters were 1/2 on and 1/2 off the house. The house needs some TLC. It had general charm and was once a lovely home. It is time for some investment in it. It is not worth the price we paid per not and it should not be on the market in summer months if it can not manage the heat.

We've stayed at many short-term rentals and rarely been disappointed. This time was different. The location and view were indeed gorgeous. But the house is seriously run-down: doors and fixtures don't work, stains on the furniture, blinds broken, mice, and the second bedroom & bathroom are so dank and dilapidated our son refused to sleep there. We were so uncomfortable we left a day early.

The additional room down bellow did not lock from the outside or inside so we all stayed in the main home not too big of a deal however not safe if you are staying down bellow either. The main house was exceptional! beautiful kitchen, beautiful living room!! plenty of space for a small getaway for a family exceptionally clean as well!Would definitely recommend and stay again minus the additional room down below that needs to be addressed other than that exceptional property....Also the check-in was at four and your checkout is at 10 AM kinda robs you of a full day in my eyes but due too COVID they take that additional time too clean

Flashlight with dead batteries, clogged shower head, one smoke detector with a dead battery, cabinets and doors that either won't lock or difficult to open or close, blinds held up with zip ties, no window coverings over master bedroom bed, cob webs all over the place.... I could gone on and on....

Reviewer Comments: DO NOT RENT THIS PLACE...I was there last weekend and our 720$ for 2 nights at this place was a waste of money as there were serious insect issues.

The first night, as soon as we turned on the light, we were all shocked as huge insects were flying all over the place. We had to spend 2 hours killing them. During our sleep time, there were still some flying around and sometimes bumping to our faces, you can only imagine how disgusting is that. Interestingly, several hours after trying to kill as many as we could, when we opened the bathroom, it was again full of them. So they definitely have a way to come into the bathroom as the bathroom door was closed. On the 2nd night, we were hanging out on the deck, and doors were closed. We came in and the same story all over again.Overall, I can say during less than 2 days of our stay, we killed about 100 of them and lived with another 20 or so.


Other than that, the furniture was all very old and dirty. Thankfully, we all had sheets with us to not have to sleep on the disgusting beds. The cleaning crew couldn’t even take care of the most basic thing which is flushing the toilet!

After checking out, their office offered us a 100$ credit to be used under several conditions!!!! ....which is not acceptable at all.....Now, I am trying to reach out to NewSpirit for a partial refund of this stay and THEY DO NOT ANSWER ANY EMAILS OR PHONE CALLS.........Well-done New Spirit!!!

I am giving 1 star to the beautiful view of the balcony...that’s it.

Unfortunately, we encountered a few maintenance issues (shower head broken, water spraying everywhere, cold water knob stripped in shower, sink running incessantly, microwave duct taped together, fell apart, into the gravy on the cook top, broken garbage disposal, wall heater not functioning in lower unit, heating elements unplugged on stove top). We alerted the office immediately of the issues and were told that they didn't have time to deal with them. We spent most of our first morning attempting to fix these issues on our own but would rather not spend our precious vacation time fixing someone's rental property.

View is stunning and viewable from living area, kitchen, dining and deck. The jacuzzi is new and large. Location is 10 minutes outside of downtown Idyllwild - close enough but still a feeling of remoteness.
Cons:
Says sleeps 10. I don’t know how that’s possible without air mattresses or sleeping on couches. We had 4 adults and 4 kids. The house felt expansive during the day, but cramped at night. 2 of the beds have no privacy. They are in the corner of the living area with no divider. Only 1 bedroom is in the house. The other bedroom is a separate structure. It has its own bathroom but feels detached and it’s unpleasant having to walk into the cold to get to your room. Also, it had zero heat. The heater did not work. We asked for another at 7pm. We were assured it would arrive by 9pm but it didn’t come until the next morning. The house in general needs work. The blinds don’t work properly - the ones in the master bedroom fell off the wall when we tried to close them. Had we been in bed we could have been injured. The couches are grungy. The throw rugs are dirty, some are threadbare. Stove top in the kitchen wasn’t working. Thankfully after 15 minutes of struggling one of us was able to figure out how to connect the coils that were disconnected. The oven works but must be at a much lower temperature than indicated as it took forever to cook (over 2 hours for chicken thighs at 475F). The queen bed in the detached room was uncomfortable as the mattress is worn out and dipping in the middle. The sliding door to the deck doesn’t have a proper handle and is extremely heavy. The kids couldn’t open it. Check in time was 3pm and when we arrived it was not ready. The management didn’t offer any kind of apology or compensation. They also didn’t know if the home had wood for the fire. Just seems like communication and care are a little lacking.
Conclusion: if you don’t mind roughing it and really care about awesome views this will be perfect for you
