Great place to stay as a home base to explore the area on our 1st trip to the Blackhills. Loved it.

Easy to find and wonderful little stay! Loved how we didn’t have service or Wi-Fi. We own a few businesses and it was truly a great “offline” getaway! Will definitely stay again!

This is a beautiful cabin that is well maintained and stocked. Great place to unplug and relax.

This cabin was perfect for our anniversary weekend getaway. It was close to the things that we wanted to do over the weekend. It is a bit of a drive to get back to the cabin but still very close to all the fun. I wouldn't let that discourage you from staying there. It is in a quiet housing community called Silver City. We did not have cell service at the cabin which helped us unplug. We would definitely stay there again. Bonus were the turkeys, deer and hummingbirds that greeted us on arrival!

Cozy cabin to get away from it all! We went with our 12 year old son and it was the perfect size for us. Within driving distance to all the big stops in SD (Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer SP, Deadwood, etc.) The cabin was clean and well stocked with all cookware needed. If you’re looking for peace and to unplug - this is the place :)

Great property. We loved the well equipped kitchen area, the proximity to the lake, and the quietness of the area. Owners made the check-in and check-out hassle-free. Would absolutely do again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin. It was on the edge of the small village of Silver City with a forested mountain slope directly behind, giving it a remote sense, while providing all of the comforts of a modern life. The fireplace was most enjoyable, and provided enough heat in early April that the electric heat was barely needed. We were sorry to need to leave a few days early due to a major storm, but the hosts were most gracious and offered to work with us. We hope to return in the future. Thank you for a great weekend in the scenic Black Hills of South Dakota!

We initially thought this cabin was a little more isolated but it was still the quiet getaway we were looking for. Nestled in a small community the residents we encountered were friendly. The wildlife was amazing to see out each window and the views were spectacular! The soaking tub was great after long days of hiking and exploring, the grill worked perfectly along with the kitchen, and the beds were comfortable. We will definitely book this place again in the future.

The cabin was neat, clean, quite, out of the way of the hustle and bustle of tourist, but close enough to see all the sights in the area. Would definitely recommend as a cabin for a couples getaway.

Exactly what we were looking for. Simple and affordable. Centrally located to all the fun stuff but has the great Black Hills vibe.

If you like some place that is ,remote up in the trees and doesn't have a TV or radio this is the place for you. It's located in a beautiful valley and sitting on a hill. We did have some issues with finding it via Google maps. It says it's in rapid City but it's really up in the mountains in silver City. If you want a really off-grid (they do have electricity, water, septic) remote cabin this is the place for you. Super peaceful we had a great stay. And a black cat and a deer said good morning to us

We stayed here for 10 days and the experience, like the times before, was peaceful and beautiful. Looking forward to staying again!

Happy trails in Silver City is a great place to stay if you are looking for hiking, fishing, mountain biking, or trail riding on an ATV. Clean cabin with a well stocked kitchen in a great location.

Rita and Tally are great hosts! This is a wonderful cabin for a couple or a couple with small children. It is spacious yet cozy - with all you need for a weekend to relax close to the forest. Great cooking space, comfy bed, and nice fireplace. We had a wonderful two days of nice weather to walk the trails and then a huge rainstorm and a snowstorm to keep warm by the fireplace. My perfect birthday weekend away!

Spent the weekend in Silver City to fish Rapid Creek and Pactola Reservoir. While the fish might not have been biting, the cabin was perfect. Nice little kitchen, comfy beds, fireplace, grill on the porch. It felt like a home away from home. Would recommend 100% for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle (and their phone signal) for a little bit.

This cabin was wonderful! Love the fireplace and the clawfoot tub. And the setting is beautiful. We will definitely be coming back!!

We enjoyed our stay in this great cabin in Silver City. The only thing we missed was a shower, but that’s a first world problem. Very quiet and relaxing. Rita was very quick to respond to questions.

We ended up not staying here - the initial listing said it was located in Rapid City, but Silver City is not near Rapid City . Also, no Wifi in cabin which was not good for the teenagers

I fell in love with this property from the on line pics alone, and the real thing did not disappoint! Charming, homey, gorgeous, and a retreat for the soul, are just a few things to say about this cabin. No WiFi or cell service was great to help a modern family reconnect. We played hard all day and came home each night to beautiful nature scenes with wildlife right in the yard. It was an awesome retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It was fully stocked with everything you might need, from pots and pans, grill and bbq utensils, to board games and books to read on the quiet nights. Comfy beds and linens provided. All we had to add was food and ourselves! I definitely recommend renting from Happy Trails. Very easy to work with and the owners live right down the way. They are fantastic people who really care that you have what you need to make your stay the most pleasant experience. Love, love, loved this property and experience!
