Property was adequate but definitely needs updating. Appliances were old and struggling. Patio furniture was lacking…2 tables with no tops, broken umbrellas. Needs overall painting. Lamps broken, burned out lightbulbs. Elevator worked but light didn’t so we couldn’t use it. No broom. Developed 2 significant leaks from rain in master and first floor bedroom. We spent an entire day dealing with wet towels and emptying bowls and pans from the leaks. Reported the leaks immediately and NO ONE ever called or came out to help us the entire week. I had to initiate every communication with Vacasa to no avail. After much complaining they agreed to refund one days rent which I still haven’t received. Our stay was the week of Sept 23 and this is Nov 9! We like Coast Cottages but will never rent thru Vacasa again! Renters Beware….

The overall house experience, with plenty of space, multiple outside decks, 360° rooftop view, huge pile of clean beach towels, closet full of beach chairs and toys in good working order, adjacent (included) swimming pool, private boardwalk to the beach, plenty of parking, just ADD family and friends!

The home is beautiful! It looked very clean. Every room has its own bathroom. The convenience of provided towels, washcloths, and linens was a plus. Two washers and dryers were also great. There were 4 laundry tabs provided for each washer, which was perfect for our 4 night stay. (I forgot my detergent). My husband and I had the third floor suite. It had its own little dorm size fridge and sink in the bedroom. The bathroom was immaculate. It had 2 vanities, (3 sinks)huge corner tiled shower, and big jacuzzi tub. The toilet is in a separate little room beside bathroom…perfect! The house has balconies with plenty of seating on every level. Plenty of beach towels were readily available on a shelf when you exit for a day at the beach. The kitchen is well equipped. The private access to pool (ONE OF THE POOLS IS CLOSED with what seems to be a pretty big repair) and beach was great. The beach didn’t seem crowded at all. There are a couple of issues that need to be addressed. The freezer drawer was a little tricky to open and the ice maker didn’t consistently make ice. We had to make sure the refrigerator door was completely pushed closed or it wouldn’t seal and close properly. The extra ice maker on the other counter didn’t work…not a deal breaker, just would’ve been nice to have that ice to fill cooler for beach. A tile in the upstairs suite bathroom is broken in front of the shower and is loose.(Just a little note to owners for safety purposes) Overall…beautiful home!

Positives Location - easy access to the beach and downtown. We enjoyed being able to walk directly to the beach and pool. Plenty of sidewalks for walking/biking. Two washer/dryer combos - we were able to easily keep up with laundry for 9 people throughout our stay. House was large. We had 9 people in the home and had plenty of room to spread out. Negatives - House is in desperate need of updating. The freezer attached to the refrigerator was stuck upon arrival. We had to to use major force to open the freezer, fearful we would break it. We had arrived on Saturday and it took until Tuesday until someone was able to come repair it. Furniture - the upholstered chairs used for dining are stained and filthy as were the white sofas. They could use a deep cleaning or replacing with something more durable. Deck furniture was filthy and there was a broken table. So much wear and tear on the walls, wood furniture, cabinets, etc. Just seems like the house hasn’t seen any TLC in quite sometime. However, St. Simons is a beautiful beach with plenty to do. We enjoyed the area very much.

The house was ok. Definitely needed improvements. Vents were filthy with dust. Back outdoor deck and roof deck were unusable. Master bed in upstairs bedrooms was awful - mattress was saggy and our friends slept horribly each night. Definitely not oceanfront. Front outdoor deck was nice. Kitchen was well stocked. But my biggest disappointment is the management service. My daughter left her orthodontic retainers by accident and I contacted Vacasa immediately. I had to pay $32 to send someone to look for the retainers. They found them after 4 days and said they would mail them to me. They continually promised that they would mail them to me and they never did. So now in addition to the 6k I paid for this house and the $32 I paid for someone to locate our missing items, I have to pay $500 for new retainers since no one on the Vacasa management team is capable of putting 2 retainer cases in the mail. What a joke. I will NEVER rent with Vacasa again.

Everything you could ask for ,clean, with plenty of room. And the location is perfect for the beach or to the village. Looking forward to another stay soon.

We had a wonderful week at the beach. This cottage has everything you would need for a weeks vacation. We loved that it just a short walk to the beach. Thank you for a relaxing trip.

We have been renting summer vacation homes for years and this one has everything! Well equipped kitchen including 2 ovens, separate ice maker, Drip Coffee maker, Keurig and crock pot and all the dishware and cookware to feed a crowd. Private bathrooms in every room. 2 washer/dryers! Spacious owner’s suite. Patios and decks on every level and even an ELEVATOR! You will want for nothing from Bellringer. The house even provided plenty beach towels and beach toys. You can’t beat this location on st. Simons!!!! Everything is in working order but the kitchen faucet is loose and drips and the master shower faucet is loose- could use repair. The toilets also run too often. The house across the street is under construction. The work was loud and the crew smoked constantly. It made time on the front deck less enjoyable. But this house still gets 5 STARS.

If you are looking for an upscale venue on St. Simons, the Bell Ringer is an exceptional choice. The Bell Ringer exceeded expectations / which is rare . Have stayed at multiple properties on St. Simons over the last 50 years and this is our favorite. Clean / well appointed with a great floor plan. And the balconies / on all floors to include the roof via a spiral staircase. Great / relaxing views. Close to the 2 swimming pools / beach. Would definitely consider for future stays as time allows.

The location is wonderful. The view of the horizon and beautiful oool area gives the feel of being right on the.ocean. The rooftop view is almost panoramic. The home is beautiful, clean, with excellent floor plan. We look forward to our next visit.

My husband, toddler, and parents stayed in the home and it was wonderful. The house was clean, well-kept, and well-stacked. The access to the pool and beach were wonderful and easy to walk to (even for our 2 year old!) We felt very comfortable and would highly recommend a stay there.

The house was beautiful and was very spacious with awesome amenities. The only complaint that we had was the musty smell that welcomed us upon arrival. I imagine the house had been closed up for a while, so we opened doors and let the house air out. That really did help a lot. We live near the coast as well, so we understand that there will be wear and tear on a beach house. We loved our stay and would definitely book this house again. We did not use the elevator while staying because we receiived a message stating that the phone system in the elevator was not working. It's close to the beach and we loved that the development was so small and cozy...1 road in and 1 road out. Would really love to take our grandchildren back for a beach weekend.

This place is in a great location, I'll give it that.. but its worn. Weekly, daily rentals has this home needing some TLC. The bedding, the beds, the furniture, the kitchen ... all worn. The cooktop couldn't boil water so the management company brought in temporary burners to assist. Looks like a leaky roof or door somewhere as there is a hardwood mold spot at the patio door. I can easily see how this would be a great house, it just needs some work to make it a great place to rent.

Great weekend at Bell Ringer Cottage at St. Simons. This is our annual girls trip and we love having the extra room this year. Lots of little things in the house need repair and the upstairs AC unit has to be replaced yesterday. Couple of rough nights at 80 degrees but it was the beach and VACASA was incredibly responsive to the issues. We will definitely be back!

Great Location to the Beach! Very private! Home needed some maintenance but good floorplan.

This house was a perfect size for 4 adult and 4 kids. Plenty of space- layout was great. Kids all said the house was awesome! As adults we did notice many things in need of fixing or updating probably due to heavy rental use. It is a well lived in house, but it did not subtract from our great time in SSI. The proximity to the beach and pool was great with kids. Everyone on the street (all renters likely) were polite and respectful. Great family atmosphere. Would stay here again!

Overall a great layout for the house. It was very convenient to have the elevator as well for elderly family. Could use a little updating of some of the items in cleaning of others but overall a decent place.

We enjoyed the house, beach and area. The house worked well for our family. We are fairly low maintenance so no complaints about the house or the distance from the beach. The beach and weather was very nice during our week.

The property for its value is amazing. Based on other reviews I was surprised at how great the house was - it’s a perfect spot on the island that’s 3-5 minutes from all the main restaurants and has great pool and beach access. We stayed with 7 of us including 2 infants and it was perfect for everyone to have their own space. We would come back for sure!

This property has a wonderful location near the beach. Unfortunately, the home is well worn and desperately in need of general maintenance and improvements. Guests will find mold in the showers as well as on the bathroom walls. Outside decks, chairs and tables were dirty upon our arrival. Linens, cushions and carpets are very worn and stained. The local property manager is great; however, he is simply dealing with a house that has been turned into a “true rental“.

The house was spacious & in a great location. Kids enjoyed the heated pool & easy beach access. A few things in the house could be upgraded (bed pillows for example) but nothing that would keep us from renting this home again. Property manager was very responsive to any questions we had while staying there.

Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay at Bell Ringer Cottage. While a few communication mishaps at first were resolved, the rest of the trip was enjoyable and relaxing. House could use a few updates as wear and tear of a rental was becoming evident. With a lingering musty smell in halls, stairwells wasn’t most appealing. However, house fit all of our people and had all that we needed. Would consider staying again!

This house was perfect for our week at the beach. Easy alk to the beach, close to the main drag in St. Simons and the perfect size house for the 8 of us.

Very nice and comfortable. 4 adults and 4 children. Did not know the kitchen/den were on second floor until arrival. Lots of decks. Pools smaller than expected but OK. Need your own ice, trash bags, salt and pepper. We’ll consider staying again.

Very cute home but not oceanfront. There's an ocean "view" from the rooftop. We would stay again but not with oceanfront expectations.

This was the first time our family vacationed in Saint Simons Island. We loved it. The Bell Ringer cottage is a beautiful vacation home, perfect for our large family. The weather was perfect for us to enjoy all of the big porches that come with the home also. It was just a few steps to the pools and beach that provided fun days of sand and sun. We would love to stay here again.

There were a couple of minor issues during our stay. In order to fix them, we had to call the Vacasa national phone number and had to remain on hold for over an hour. On three occassions, we tried to use the call-back service rather than staying on hold, and on 2 of the 3 occassions, the call-back never happened. The provisioning of the house was surprisingly sparse. In a house that houses 10 people, only one kitchen trash bag and one portion of dishwasher detergent was provided per day. Also, the downstairs washing machine was inoperable, and the upstairs washing machine made horrendous noises (in the master suite).

Great stay

Short vacation for daughters school break. We have stayed in the cottages before but this stay was perfect. Just what we were looking for. Quiet, close to beach with a pool. Everything was just as listed. Great place lots of room.
