The house was clean and just as described. The location is right off the main road so it’s easy to find. It’s just a short walk to the lake. Check in was easy but communication about it wasn’t until the morning of which felt last minute. I really wish they’d allow guests to adjust the thermostat. It was too warm for a good nights rest. Other than those small things, it was great for a short stay.

Very nice place to stay. Clean and comfortable rooms, great beds, very comfy. Close to bar and grills. Would highly recommend.

Perfect stay!

We were attending our son's wedding at a nearby venue and this place was perfect. We didn't spend a lot of time there but it held our whole family comfortably and it was clean and neat. The host (Heidi) was the Best!! Very accommodating (with an earlier check in for parts of our family and very easy to reach with a quick response). Highly recommend!

This house didn't look as nice as it did online. The outside of home was dirty with paint peeling. I received a message with the check in and check out instructions along with Wi-Fi password but not the 4 digit code to get in. I called the Owner to ask for the code. She answered by a huff, saying she already sent it to me and she didn't have time for this. I said, I don't see it. Did you email it to me? She said no. Its a message thru VRBO. I said I don't see it. Where would it be in VRBO? She said I sent it, I'll call you back. She called me back and told me the code is "xxxx". I punched it in and the door unlocked and I said it opened, Thank you. Then she said, like I already said..I sent it to you before, now i suppose I have to explain all the rules to you. I said you don't have to be so snappy. She said she wasn't snappy. At that point I ended the call. The inside smelled musty. The downstairs BR contained a daybed and some kind of a weird full size wavy mattress on a squeaky possible trendle bed type frame. It was super uncomfortable. The two BRs upstairs were full of beds but the stairs were steep and narrow without a railing to hold onto. The ceiling slopes in from the roof line upstairs and is not accommodating to anyone tall. We tried to connect to Wi-Fi. It wouldn't work with their password. Tried the tv. Couldn't get the volume to work. Didn't dare call owner after our earlier convo. I would never stay there again.

Heidi, thank you for hosting our family. We also appreciated the quick response times. The property was as advertised. And exceptionally clean. Clearly, a lot of thought has gone into making guest as comfortable as possible. As mentioned in previous reviews, stairs to upstairs bedrooms were challenging to navigate at night. Overall, would highly recommend. Thank you

We were very pleasantly surprised when we entered the property (don't judge a book by its cover). Very clean. Beautifully decorated. All needs met as far as kitchen supplies, bath supplies, lots of comfy cozy blankets and the beds were all awesome! Our host Heidi was awesome and hopefully did not "judge" us as we struggled to figure out the smart TVs. We sisters were yearning for our old TV's with the 4 channels and an on/off button. She was very patient with us! It was a special treat for us as a couple of us used to babysit her husband when he was little and that her mother-in-law was our piano teacher and our mother's good friend. It was pretty quiet in Pepin and the surrounding area this time of year but it was still very charming and a great getaway! Thank you, Heidi!

We had a wonderful time staying at Great River Cottage #1. Room accomodations were perfect for our group of 5 ladies. Lots of amenities for just staying in on the first cold days of the season in October. Plenty of blankets and the large couch and chairs in the living area were perfect for our no kids weekend get-a-way.

My friends from Winona met me at this adorable spot for a girls weekend away from home. We spent some time shopping in Stockholm, had dinner at The Pickle Factory & HOURS chatting at the kitchen table in the living room. The beds were comfortable, kitchen well supplied with everything we needed, and everything was clean & tidy. We love this place!

Super great location and space for sharing time with family. Could sleep 10...we had 3 staying overnight with 4 more of us joining in for a couple of meals. Nice kitchen fully set up for meal making, great lounging area for conversations to happen. Sweet porch and lawn making it a lovely place to call home for a weekend or longer! Five star is well deserved!

Stayed with my son, brother and nephew. We arrived later than expected. Our unit was great for us plenty of room, clean, and comfortable. Wish we would have spent more time there but thats on us. Definitely recommend.

The house is very accommodating to groups of friends. All the beds upstairs are twins, which was fine since we were on a girls weekend trip, no need for queens or king beds. The steps up the stairs are narrow and steep, take your time! The kitchen set up was great, plenty of utensils and dinnerware. Bathroom was clean and plenty of towels were furnished.

It's our second stay and won't be the last. The layout is perfect for the family that needs a separate cabin..made even more perfect with a walk through back porch. The front porch offers rocking chair room for many. The hosts are wonderful.

Property is conveniently located right in Pepin. Easy walking distance to water, restaurants, shops, etc. 7 friends stayed and enjoyed clean, nicely decorated home. Fun outdoor space with fire pits in front and back. More than enough room and gathering space for all.

We had a girls weekend, the house was perfect size for 6 women. Had everything we needed ! In walking distance to restaurants and bars in town. Would definitely come back again.

We had a very pleasant stay for our girls weekend. A lot of thought went into the set up of this unique space. Nicely decorated. Comfortable beds. Included all amenities we needed. We enjoyed a bonfire in the firepit. Thank you for supplying the wood. Location was perfect. Just a short walk to the lake. Thank you for sharing your space with us. We had a wonderful stay. Typical house to refer to multi family events such as BD, weeding , reunion, retreat and other celebrations or functions. If owner can redo the exterior wall and view of the building, that will be another added value. But the interior care and look of the building has overweighed the exterior look. We were all impressed of the interior care and comfort, despite the initial issue to enter into the building.

We had a group of 6 looking for a quick get away from the cities. We enjoyed hanging out, playing games, and sharing lots of laughs. We ended up sitting around the kitchen table for hours talking and laughing. It was very enjoyable!

My family had a wedding to attend earlier in the evening. The location couldn’t be beat with a bar right across the street that stayed open till 2AM (cash only), and everyone in the family had a bed to sleeping in. I just wish we’d planned ahead with some snacks at the house, as nothing stayed open late to grab food. The only hard part was getting ready in the morning with only 1 bathroom, but we made it work! The room with the trundle is actually a Queen, a twin and then a trundle bed under the twin. The couch in the main living room was a huge L, and could have slept 2 adults on it if needed. I’d also highly recommend the Pickle Factory, just down the street (walking distance)!

The property was clean and accurate to the pictures. Property manager was very responsive when we had quiand check in was easy.

This is the nicest property on the corner of a quiet neighborhood. We loved every minute of our stay. So many memories made! I would warn that there is only one bathroom per 7 beds so it could get a little busy. Also the stairs up to the top floor bedrooms are a little narrow and steep. But as able bodied adults we got around just fine!! The host was incredible and so accommodating. We would definitely stay here if we had a group of our size again. We rented out the second cottage to my parents and there is a little hallway/porch to connect them. That way us girls also had access to another bathroom. So it didn’t prove to be a problem to get access to a bathroom with both.
