We couldn't ask for a better location or a more friendly host. The hot tub was a wonderful amenity and we appreciated the privacy of it. When the garbage disposal broke, maintenance was there the same day to get it fixed. The downside is that we did not know that the property we rented didn't connect on the interior, which made our 4 bdrm 3 bth rental a 2 bdrm, 1 bth and a 2 bdrm 2 bth - not ideal for a family. The units were well appointed, but lacked in cleanliness. The dust and dander left behind made for some miserable allergies during our stay, and I would encourage your cleaning crew to also look in drawers and cupboards as every dish we took out to use were put away dirty (presumably by a previous guests) and needed washed before we could use them - not the host's fault, but still an inconvenience.

We were 4 couples and the space was perfect for our needs. It was nice to have the separation of the units so we weren't on top of each other the whole stay, and plenty of room for us all to hang out together on either patio when we wanted to. Cutely decorated. The upstairs kitchen area is way smaller which we weren't expecting but made work. Very small fridge so we were happy to be able to put extra food in the downstairs unit. The location to town can't be beat. During our stay the lower level AC was not working which was a bit of a bummer, it did get pretty warm. But the pros made that easier to overlook and deal with. We would all come back and stay here again if we travel back to the area.

We had a great stay at the Blue Elk. The location was prime to walk around the plaza and go to a concert at the park. Definitely would stay again. Only downside was the kitchen utensils and dishware seemed to be a bit old and dirty.

I rented the up and down for my two sisters, their husbands, my wife, and my mom. The location is just off the Taos square where there are plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from. The bedrooms were roomy and comfortable. The kitchen/living area is not huge, so having all 7 of us there at once was a little tight, but not too bad. We enjoyed taking in the sights around Taos, travelling to Santa Fe, the Taos Pueblo, the Gorge, and Red River. Parking for more than 2 vehicles can be a challenge. There was a parking pass for a nearby church which could have used a little explaining from the host. Overall, a very nice stay.

This was a perfect place to stay for our girls trip. Location was great and the home was so perfect. The only problem we had was unlocking and locking the doors. Perhaps they could change the door locks to make it easier.

Four friends stayed in the two apartments and we really enjoyed our week. The location was close to the town centre but also very quiet. The caretaker was very responsive with all of our questions. Would recommend this house!

We had a great time at the Blue Elk. Location was wonderful, walking distance to the historic district and a short drive to some fantastic skiing. The place was adorable, better than we expected. And, the hot tub was a nice bonus after a long day skiing.

We had a great stay at the Blue Elk Casa. I worried that the up and down units would split my group up too much but the downstairs living space is large enough for everyone to hang out, which was great. And being a 1-block walk to town was wonderful.

We loved our stay at the Blue Elk Casa! There were 7 of us in our group, we rented the upstairs and downstairs units. Plenty of room but super cozy.
It's right in town so we were able to walk everywhere. Kitchen is fully stocked, beds are comfortable, hot tub was amazing after a snowfall.
Communication with property manager was easy and helpful.
Can't say enough good things about this place! Highly recommend!

This is our second time to stay in the Blue Elk Casa and again we are incredibly happy with our experience. 1. The location is superb, 2. The double unit is perfect for traveling with family as you can have your own spaces, and 3. The hosts are very communicative, helpful, kind, and go above and beyond to accommodate your needs.

The property was well maintained. The only reason I wouldn't give a five star review is because of the following issues:
1. The key was difficult to use. It was badly cut.
2. They didn't have enough wine glasses. Some glasses were plastic.
3. My bed needs new mattresses. I didn't hear similar comments from the others, so it was probably just my bed..
4. The parking lot wasn't perfect. We had to park on the street, which wasn't always available. They had extra parking at a church which wasn't very convenient.
However, I consider these problems to be minor. We had a lovely time there.

We rented both the upstairs and downstairs of Blue Elk Casa, and in general found the property to be great for our family Thanksgiving vacation. There were a few issues:
1. the downstairs TV could not connect to the house wi-if, so we were limited to the upstairs one. The tech is pretty out of date. 2. My son and his partner found the sheets in their downstairs bedroom either had not been cleaned or were not cleaned very well. 3. The charm of New Mexico fireplaces was not available to us. The downstairs one worked for a day, the upstairs one never did. To be fair, the property manager did get someone in to try to fix the upstairs fireplace, but when he left neither upstairs or downstairs worked. Also in fairness, though, this happened the day before Thanksgiving…. Other than these fixable issues, be advised that the only full kitchen is in the downstairs unit, and it is really too small for a party of 8!

Chose this property as it was very close to downtown Taos Plaza with shops and restaurants. Closest highly rated Mexican restaurant was just around the corner of our street!
We missed the detail that this is actually a duplex with separate entrances, so our group split between the two at night and met in the lower unit during the daily gathering. That all worked out fine.
Unit had a couple minor problems with a gas fireplace malfunction and a persistent dripping kitchen faucet. There was also notable ceiling mold in the upstairs unit bathroom (no ventilation to remove moisture). The property manager was communicative and attended to these quickly and said they will have an exhaust fan installed to mitigate the mold.
Otherwise, all in all, an very enjoyable stay

We had a wonderful time at the Blue Elk Casa! Our group consisted of five adults, four kids, one baby, and one small dog, and the multi-level units made it easy to be together while still allowing space for everyone. As a multi-generational group, we very much appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, accessible extra towels and bedding, and closeness to the Plaza. We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to book again for our next Taos getaway!

Our family rented the upstairs and downstairs property which worked very well for us. We loved the location. We were able to walk to shopping, restaurants, and music. The host was very friendly and helpful while we were there. The property has all of the uniqueness of Taos architecture and ambiance which we very much enjoyed.

It was a family experience with our kin from Ohio. We rented both levels of the Casa. So many little spaces to sit and chill. Our caretaker, Linda, was excellent. The main area had difficulty with the fan on the AC and Linda promptly called together the techs that solved the problem. I stayed in the upper levels with part of the group and loved the space. The upper outside area was very special for all of us in the evening for games and much laughter. We would all come back to this place again.

We loved every single thing about this property, from the location, to the little outdoor patio, to the hot tub, to the beautifully decorated interior. Two sweet casitas with everything. You could need and all kinds of extra amenities, like soft blankets and great art. The property manager was repsonaive and kind.

Great location just a block from the plaza and a quick 30 min drive to Taos Ski Valley. They had everything we needed. One room ran a bit cold but there was a portable heater so that solved that issue. Beds could be a bit comfier, but I feel like every rental’s beds aren’t the best. Only other heads up is the book units key is particular, so you have to get to know it’s temperament. 😆 We had a great stay! The jacuzzi was clean and hot for us. We’d stay here again!

This place is clearly managed very well, and well stocked with those things you often have to run out and get (paper towels, kleenex etc). Spotlessly clean, and of course, the art and architecture are spectacular. You can't ask for a better location to the Plaza, yet its enough off the beaten path to be nicely quiet at night. Just a few minutes, and you have dozens of lovely dining and shopping options. Would highly recommend and would book again. Thank you for hosting us!

We rented both the up and down Blue Elk Casa which worked out perfectly for guests as they could have some privacy. The home is beautiful and there is ample space- the photos do not do it justice. The location is perfect for enjoying walking to the plaza and restaurants. My only complaint is the furnaces are very loud if you are there in the winter. There are multiple extra blankets provided. The hot tub is wonderful!
