Loved this unit and the property. I've never stayed in a room quite like this open air penthouse. It's quaint and located a short walk to the beach and restaurants. A quick 70 peso ride gets you into town. Nancy was also an amazing host! Would definitely stay again.

This property was beautiful and unique (we stayed in the open-air) El Bamboo Suite. Nancy Lewis, the owner/manager, was a wonderful host who provided lots of recommendations for the area because it was our first time in Zihua. We will definitely return!

We stayed in the open-air penthouse and it was stunning. The 360 degree view could not be beat, with the mountains on one side and the ocean on another! The ocean breezes made you feel like you were camping right on the beach. Laying in the hammock while reading a book was the best way to end each afternoon. Our room was very tidy, and was touched up each day. The refrigerator kept our beers cold, and the 5 gallon purified water jug was a great amenity. The pool on the property was immaculate with cool temp waters, surrounded by beautiful gardens, a palapa for shade and comfortable lounge chairs. The location is just a short walk to the beach, where the ocean temps were warm and the waves just enough to enjoy the sound and float for long periods in the beautiful clear turquoise blue water. The town of Zihuatanejo is just a short trip down the rode and offers another type adventure of foods, shopping and an opportunity to take in this sweet town. Best of all, was the property proprietor and consummate host - Nancy! From the start, she made us feel welcome and had many suggestions of where to go for local cultural events, great food and the best happy hour on the beach to take in the amazing sunsets! Her kindness was overwhelming, insuring we had everything we needed to enjoy our time there. Her love for this little corner of the world is crystal clear. And her wisest advice to us was to come and stay longer next time!

Villas Los Arcos was a beautiful property conveniently located just far enough from the beach to be quiet. Well maintained property with an friendly and informative host. The rooms are spacious and well designed. Our mattress was very comfortable. Air conditioning worked well. The pool is a quiet oasis. I would highly recommend this property for couples or families.

Absolutely loved our stay at the Bamboo Penthouse! It was a unique experience in the open air style room, but with perfect weather and a gorgeous view of the bay only one block away it was a lovely stay. The room was very comfortable, and the pool made for a peaceful place to relax between stints in the ocean. Nancy and her team were very accommodating and gracious hosts. We hope to be back soon!

My husband and I stayed here for a week over Christmas. I would go back and stay again tomorrow if I could. The location is perfect, easy to get a cab or collectivo, quick access to the beach and plenty of restaurants nearby. Nancy was welcoming and lovely and all of her advice was appreciated, we ate at several restaurants and ordered suggested meals from her recommendations and they were spot on! She even invited us to join her and another couple for Christmas dinner. Our suite was immaculate every day. It was my first trip to Zihuatanejo and I left thinking about how to make another trip back to Villas Los Arcos soon. Enjoy!

If I had prescribed for myself the perfect relaxing vacation, with the perfect host, the perfect location, and the perfect setting, with the perfectly clean accommodations, I could not have found anything better then The Bamboo Palapa at Nancy's Villas Los Arcos....I must admit, I was a bit nervous about renting in the low season...humidity and mosquitos...but....sitting up high with a gorgeous ocean view ,sea breezes and fans blowing lightly all night long, we were lulled to sleep..... awakened by our tree top neighbors every morning...The biggest decision of the day was to decide where to go for sunset happy hour and dinner....The rest of the day was already decided..breakfast, beach, hammock...book...Did I mention the crystal clear large pool (we had to ourselves)...massages on the beach? ....Like I read in reviews before I booked...the only downside...was having to leave...We will be back to your slice of heaven Nancy... Villa Los Arcos is an amazing place and Nancy Lewis is a fantastic host. My husband and I stayed in El Bamboo for 6 nights. Our routine consisted of beach, pool, eat, pool, rest, eat, beach, pool, eat. El Bamboo is just perfect if you are looking for an open air experience. The apartments are also very well appointed and the cleanliness is 5-star. Each time we came back to Villas Los Arcos we felt we were returning to our personal oasis of beauty. The restaurants in Zihau and Play La Ropa are easily accessed and prices are excellent. Taxis and buses are right outside the door and Nancy has plenty of suggestions for dining or activities.

Staying in the open air penthouse at Villas Los Arcos was a unique experience. Don’t worry about not having air conditioning. It is high enough that there is always a breeze and the temperature is perfect night and day. We enjoyed preparing our own meals and taking advantage of view and the sunsets while we ate. Nancy and all of the staff are friendly and helpful. Our only minor complaint was that the internet in the penthouse was a little bit inconsistent so a couple of times we had to suffer the terrible hardship of using a device by the pool closer to a modem. The beach is a four or five minute stroll away and close enough that you can always hear the surf mixed in with bird sounds. Of course you would be able to find a less expensive accommodation if you wanted and the cost was a little bit more than my wife and I usually spend but we felt it was well worth it for such a funky high end penthouse treat.

We stayed in the Bamboo Penthouse and loved it. I feel that the lack of air conditioning ( lots of fresh ocean breezes and fans instead) meant a better adaptation to the heat. The kitchenette was great for coffee and breakfast daily and we could have made simple meals, but there are so many good restaurants, we didn't feel the need to cook. The pool was delightful, the hammock in our room very comfortable. Nancy was a super hostess and gave us all the information we needed for a great week in Zihuatanejo. Look forward to going there again.

Nancy's place is wonderful. Just a short walk to the beach and features beautiful super clean rooms with a local feel. Just the right size so you think the place is all your own. Quiet, relaxing and very safe. Hope to stay there again soon.

We had never been to lovely Zihuatanejo before but knew what we wanted in an accommodation; close to if not on the beach, a pool, easy transportation and a helpful host. Villas Los Arcos did more than fit the bill and we would have to say, as others have, that this was the best place we have ever stayed at in Mexico. We stayed in the open palapa; if you need walls, hate a lovely soft breeze, don't like watching the sunrise or sunset, don't care for a comfortable bed and can't be bothered with a wonderful host, don't stay here!! Couldn't have asked for a better experience or a more marvellous two weeks. Thanks for all your info, Nancy - much appreciated and all your recommendations were great.

We enjoyed 14 days in Villas Los Arcos, the apartment with full kitchen and it was wonderful. Pros: the bed was very comfortable, the apartment stays cool enough you don't have to have the a.c. on all the time, it's roomy, close to the beach and food (Rossy's great for breakfast and drinks), Nancy is accommodating and informative, the apartment is very clean, pool is large for the size of the facility, we always had a chair. Cons: keep in mind this is an apartment and not a condo. There are the basics for meal cooking (pots, pans, dishes) but you will need to buy condiments, spices if you plan to cook. Remember the Mexican plumbing doesn't allow TP, the hot water is 'm demand' so it takes a while to get enough for a shower. This property is a healthy walk to town, 40 minutes at a strong pace. Busses don't run later in the evening, so cabs are your transportation. I would recommend this property for couples, even seniors and I would return in a heart beat

We stayed with Nancy for one night a couple weeks ago on the top floor (suite El Bamboo). Completely open to views and the outdoors on all sides under the tall palapa roof, this open-to-nature living might not be for everyone, but it quickly became one of the favourite places we have ever stayed. She has a few other great looking suites for anyone who wants to be a bit more enclosed. Nancy was great to deal with and was very flexible about check-in/check-out times, and her great staff even took us to our next destination. The pool and area was excellent as well. We just can't say enough good things about the experience. It was such a wonderful setting, that I wish we had been able to stay longer, and we sure hope to be back!

We loved everything about the El Cedro apartment. It was perfect in every way. The bed was comfortable and everything was so clean and set-up in such a user-friendly way. We had a huge fridge and a very functional mini-kitchen that allowed us to prepare all of our meals. The bathroom is big and bright and open-air. There is parking. The pool was perfect as was the common spaces. Nancy invited us to her New Year's pre-celebration and it allowed us to spend time meeting new people. Nothing has been overlooked. It is a two minute walk from the beach and large supermarkets are accessible by car. It is truly a perfect place and we will certainly be renting there again.

I cannot say enough about our enjoyment at finding this accommodation! What we found when we arrived was even better than what we had seen in the beautiful internet listings. 2 other couples were with us and we took the El Roble, El Cedro, and El Bamboo Suites, all were beautiful and clean. We enjoyed the El Bamboo "treehouse" suite very much. Nancy, the owner is friendly and welcoming. Her advice for all things Zihua (fishing, transportation, attractions, dining) were spot on! She knows the area well.The restaurant across the street serves a great breakfast, the bus to town is easy and right out the door. The Staff is amazing, everything is kept and beautiful. The pool is clean and refreshing anytime. There is an outdoor shower there as well as a restroom for guest convenience. The grounds are beautiful and we felt completely comfortable in the secure compound. The beach (La Ropa) is less than 5 minute walk away and it is the best beach in Zihua! Good swimming, activities, massages ($14 usd for 1 hour!) and places to eat. I hope we are able to come back to enjoy this beautiful accommodation again someday. My wife and I had the great fortune and ( a little luck ) to pick Villa Los Arcos for our warm weather getaway last winter (2014). We stayed in both the open air Penthouse Suite and the second floor unit. The Penthouse was the most romantic accommodations we have ever booked, a complete and wonderful surprise that is an exceptional value! With a lovely view of Zihuatanejo Bay from the hammock and a 3 minute yard walk to the south end of La Ropa Beach, nicest beach in Zihua, with many great beach Restaurants & Cantinas. Los Arcos has probably the nicest / cleanest swimming pool we have seen in 40 years of traveling all over Mexico. Nancy and her staff are very low key but ready with great advice on dining spots or day time activities. There is a great Hotel across the street where we had breakfast every morning. We did not need to rent a car for this stay, we rode the mini-van that stops in front of the Hotel into town and back for a $1 RT fee. We loved our time there and will definitely book it again next time we travel to Zihuatanejo.

Why have we come back every year for the past 5 years? Because this is a lovely inn, with a small number of units, each of which are spacious and beautifully decorated. The villa compound has a locked entrance, and feels secluded and safe. Nancy, the owner, has lived in Zihua for many years and has a pulse on the town's activities, as well as suggestions for less well known activities and dining options. To be so close to our favorite of Zihua's beaches is fabulous, and it's refreshing to return for secluded quiet time at the pool or in the suite. It's not a surprise that in the peaceful atmosphere of Los Arcos, we've enjoyed meeting fellow travelers and, in fact, see some of those new friends each year at Los Arcos. Taking a bus or taxi to town is easy; just walk across the street. Town is a bustling and fascinating place, and returning to Los Arcos afterwards to relax at the pool or have a siesta is a lovely counterbalance! Perhaps the most telling recommendation of this villa is how many, many times during other parts of the year we think back to our vacation retreat to Villa Los Arcos and wish we were there again! Prior to retiring two years ago this magical get away was my annual "must go to place". Now since retiring, I have been able to extend the week stay into multiple weeks and I still consider it my favorite winter travel destination. Villa Los Arcos is a perfect balance of quiet neighborhood, short walk to a primo beach for morning and evening strolls, and a lovely pool to read, siesta, and cool off with a lazy swim. Nancy, the owner, has created a hotel with cozy well designed rooms that reflect the local colors and provide patios for early morning coffee and a relaxing Happy Hour overlooking the pool and neighborhood. I love that I can easily get a taxi or bus into town by simply walking across the street. Nancy is a warm and accommodating host with a wealth of recommendations for restaurants and local events. Her involvement in the Zihua community allows her to share the very special places to go on the daily excursions. However, I do find that the sound nights' sleep, the lazy beach walks, Happy Hours at the beach result in me spending a good part of the vacation just relaxing and enjoying the lovely hotel and pool and a good book! Hola!
