Lovely property and beautiful beach. Retro cottage and totally charming. Needs new mattresses....uncomfortable.

The property was perfect. It was such a great place to walk the beach from, we really never had to leave. You could just stay at their house for your entire trip and never run out of things to do. That is if you like to watch the beach and look out over the water for whales. I highly recommend this place. The island was really amazing to get to, Langley was a really cool town, and the hosts were amazing people - so helpful. Great vacation and I hope to come back one day.

The cottage on Maxwelton Beach felt like home and the location was just steps away from the sandy beach. It was a perfect place to walk on the beach and spend time with friends. We ate dinner outside while enjoying the view of the water and a couple of beautiful sunsets. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable. The host was helpful and gracious. I would definitely stay here again.

We returned for another stay after loving our trip in 2022. This year was just as great. This is an amazing location and the hosts are so lovely! Can't wait to return again in 2024!!

This wonderful beach house was so much better than I even expected! The house is lovely and the huge yard with private beach is probably the best on Maxwelton. The hosts have provided everything you might need, plus special touches like a welcome gift of english muffins, butter and homemade raspberry freezer jam. We were able to celebrate with our large extended family in the huge yard (not inside!) for a pirate treasure hunt followed by relaxing on the seaside deck furnished with comfy couches, umbrellas and a fire pit. The house comes complete with toys for kids, a hot tub with a view, and everything else to make your stay perfect. The only caution would be if you have babies/toddlers, the upstairs loft-style bedroom hallway overlooking the living room & kitchen does not have a baby-proof railing so you'd need to keep an eye on the babies. Otherwise, I can't recommend this house highly enough. Thank you so much to the wonderful thoughtful owners who reside right nextdoor and are sure to make your stay comfortable and memorable!

We’ve been back every summer for five years now. The house is bright and airy, well-stocked with dishes, towels, bbq, sand toys for kids, and anything else you need. Owners are friendly and very responsive. Great place for a beach vacation!

Really enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, and the cottage was comfy. Enjoyed the hot tub the most. And don't worry if u don't know what to do they already have everything u may need or want to know about the Island. I really do recommend this beach cottage. And thanks again for allowing us to stay.

The cottage was perfect for our short stay on Whidbey. It exceeded our expectations. Each bedroom had a comfortable queen bed with cozy linens and comforters. The kitchen was well stocked, even sharp knives. The bathroom was small but a nice vanity area with plenty of towels, washcloths, even “makeup” removing cloths. The views of the sound and majestic snow-covered Olympic mountains and access to beach walks were amazing. The owners Dave and BJ were so cordial and willing to accommodate. We definitely would stay again at this VRBO.

We loved our stay! The house was perfect, the beach is beautiful, and the yard is spectacular! My kids loved having so much open space! The house was very welcoming - including coffee and homemade jam. Highly recommend!

Dave and BJ were delightful and everything was perfect. My parents sold this home to them over 30 years ago. My sister and I had so much fun at this special Maxwelton beach house growing up and it meant the world to us to revisit our memories being able to stay there. Three of our adult children also remember staying there with Grandma and Poppy. It was an incredibly nostalgic weekend for us all and enjoyed it so much!

We have nothing bad to say about this rental. Our family of 4 was comfortable, and there were plenty of things for our small children (pack n play, high chair, toys, books, games) We saw orcas on night one, played on the beach, used the hot tub, played baseball on the lawn, and enjoyed our entire stay. We will be back!

One of our first times traveling to Whidbey Island and enjoying the outstanding views from the cabin. Traveling with coworkers with the intention to play through a dozen board games, the weather took a weird turn, causing much of the southern part of the island to lose power, including our cabin. The hosts demonstrated fantastic hospitality to check on us and do their best to make sure we were still able to grill and put together meals within minimal power and even brought us homemade raspberry jam (which could be sold - it's that good). They checked on our needs, set up a generator so we could continue to make coffee and play board games in the evening and went above and beyond what I would expect any host to do in those circumstances. They turned what could have been a disappointing poor weather weekend into a fun weekend of board games and ghost stories. Highly recommend!

We spent a wonderful long weekend at this property in October. The home was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare meals and baked goods. The hosts went the extra mile to provide a ton of amenities. We were especially thrilled with the welcome basket which included delicious homemade jam. We spent the whole weekend relaxing in the hot tub and on the beach. The views from the porch and hot tub were beautiful and there is a lovely beachside patio and hammock. The kids loved the toys and games. There is also a public playground next door. All in all, a perfect family trip!

This is one of the best places we have ever stayed with our kids. Very clean and comfortable, lots of games and toys to keep the kids busy, a hot tub, and very thoughtful owners. Beach and park out the front door, and short drives to grocery store and other small towns for things to do. We also love to cook when we stay in vacation rentals, and this has the best stocked kitchen we have ever had. Highly recommend this place for families!

We will be recommending this place to folks who still have kids. The extra bedrooms and the park next door would be terrific for them. Love the little bit of our "own" beach.

Love love this rental. Not our first stay here, and hopefully not our last. Easy spot to park a boat and spend the weekend enjoying whidbey island. Great set up for families. Both times they left us homemade jam and English muffins. The hosts are easy to contact. If you book here you will not be disappointed. Can’t beat the location. Love the hot tub with a view.

The hosts were very welcoming and responded quickly to questions. The property is in a beautiful location with incredible sunsets and view of the cascades. The hot tub was a great way to relax at the end of the day.

We had a wonderful time. A perfect family Puget Sound beach experience. The huge expanse of grass between the house and the beach was a highlight; wonderful for bocci, throwing a ball or a frisbee. The beach was excellent, with a lot of marine life, like beached jellyfish to entertain our six year old. The fire ring was a big hit too. The state park next door provided plenty of people watching opportunities too. Gorgeous sunsets, interesting marine and seaplane traffic passing by, always something interesting to look at. The hosts couldn’t be nicer, the hospitality outstanding. We loved it.

I book this location annually, and love the access to Maxwelton Beach. I can paddle board every morning, the kids play all day on the soft sand beach, the house can support up to 2 families and we see incredible sunsets from the fire pit or hot tub each night. It is clean and comfortable, and I can't say enough about how much I love this place.

The hosts were amazing and welcoming. Our whole family raved about the house and the spot. Very peaceful stay, we will definitely be back!

We’ve stayed for a week every summer for the past five years! Nice property, with everything one needs in the house. Owners are easy to get hold of and very quick to respond.

My wife and 23 year-old daughter and I had a great stay in this lovely comfortable beach house. The property has a large expanse of lawn before you get to the beach. The evening sunsets are spectacular. In our few days we saw 5 bald eagles and an orca whale in the bay. The location is very convenient to shopping and Langley. Its a treasure of a spot with fine owners. We'd be happy to stay there again -- anytime.

Such excellent hosts, great location, and fun amenities. Family had a wonderful time frolicking on the beach and relaxing in the hot tub. Our daughter LOVED playing with the toys that were available and we loved the homemade freezer jam. Thanks for another great weekend!

The property was perfect for a short getaway with family. The house is unique and has great views. I really appreciated the owners going out of their way to leave a few touches like homemade jam! The hot tub was really nice in February, it got dark and cold a bit early to use the outdoor fire much but that’s just the time of year. The only downside is that I think they should keep a couple extra pillows in the closet because there was only two per bed. I’m pregnant and should have brought an extra pillow to make sure I could sleep comfortably but it’s not a big problem. Overall is was great 👍
