This property is great! All amenities that were listed for property were available we didn’t have any problems during our stay. There are a few improvements we believe need to be made some burners on grill did not work, lots of deck screws/nails were coming up on back porch, couple broken pieces of deck rails on property have fallen off, the dock has a lot of uneven boards causing tripping or constantly having to watch where you step. All of these things are pretty minor and didn’t sway us from not staying there again as we have booked Sol-Mate again for next year!!! The sun sets from the back of property are breathtaking. We got to do lots of fishing off the dock this is a great place to stay for relaxing and to unwind!!

This property is very nice and in a quiet location. The cleaning crew missed the outside bathroom area completely also no trash bags were left. Other than that the place was awesome.

Rented 3rd week of May and will return. Have been to many places down along the bay and gulf area over last several years and this is by far our favorite. Everything is right there for relaxing from the hustle and bustle of life and spending good times with friends.

Property was absolutely beautiful. We all had a blast and loved being able to fish right out the back door. Beautiful views!! Highly recommend.

Our stay was beyond our expectations! The accommodations were exactly as listed. Beds are comfortable/the cleanliness was top notch! The activities at the house were fun to play. Fishing/dolphin sightings BUT the sunsets were the most breathtaking sunsets we have ever experienced! Stock up on your groceries (before you cross the bridge) and disconnect. Enjoy! If you are hesitant to book this listing, I hope you will trust me when I say this… Book it! You will not regret the experience!

We spent a lot of time on the dock fishing and caught many different types of fish including sharks, rays, croakers, sea catfish, sea trout and more. We also caught several blue (2 dozen male keepers which we boiled) and stone crabs in the trap provided and traps we brought. We plan on staying again hopefully in the future! Its a great location, private yet closely located to all of the public beaches.

A perfect place for making memories that will last a lifetime!!! Minor concerns were addressed promptly by property manager. The views are breathtaking! The boys loved fishing right off the dock every night! So many places to relax and take in the beauty! Being able to watch dolphins from the dock made my soul beyond happy!!!

Tried something new this year by downsizing and staying on the bay instead of gulf and were not disappointed. We were looking for outdoor living, and that's exactly where our time was spent. Inside, the home was cozy and had a great beachy vibe. Beds were very comfortable. We do wish the crab basket has been made available as listed but didn't want the hassle of contacting anyone to come out. Grill and downstairs refrigerator made it easy to eat all our homecooked meals outside. Everyone loved fishing off the dock where lots of little fish were caught. Our 16-year old even caught a little hammerhead shark! The sunsets were a little underwhelming the week we were there, but the location itself is the perfect place to watch the sun set had the skies been more sunset friendly. The tv area is a great place to relax and wind down. It felt like home being there, and we absolutely loved Solmate!!

This house is amazing! We actually have a daughter with a wheelchair she is unable to walk! The house downstairs has ramps which made it so easy to roll her around so she could be apart of everything! We also enjoyed all the perks like corn hole that came with the house! The upstairs is extremely gorgeous and very well decorated and the space is utilized perfectly! We stay in Dauphin Island a lot and I will say this is one of my favorite houses and we will definitely be back!

Property was very clean, was in a great location, was quiet and had very beautiful scenery, and communication with property owners was great and without any issues! Would stay again!

Spent Spring Break at Sol-Mate with my husband and 3 teens! We played corn hole, caught a blue crab with the provided trap off the dock, enjoyed the views and even saw dolphins! Close to all the island amenities and beaches. Make sure to pack your beach towels, there were none onsite when we arrived and we had to purchase some. The dryer was taking a long time to dry clothes, we realized the outside vent was clogged with lent, cleaned it out and the dryer worked properly. The outdoor shower was a great addition to our wash off our beach days. Overall a great experience and would stay here again!

This was our 2nd trip to Sol Mate. For us. It’s a place to slow down, breathe deeply and enjoy the time with family. The views and sunsets are remarkable for sunset chasers like us.

It was just what we hoped for. If we're ever in the area again, we'd definitely want to stay there again.

Perfect location to walk to beach (about 1/2 mile), walk to Islanders restaurant bar (about 1 mile), and to walk quiet neighborhood streets. Beautiful sunsets seen from the back decks. Having a second full size fridge works really well to be able to grab all the groceries you need and to keep all your beverages cold. We enjoyed the outdoor space the most as we could watch TV, enjoy barbecue, grab a cold beverage, fish from the dock, do laundry, and have a bathroom right there where we didn’t have to trek upstairs and into the house.

Property was exactly as described and perfect for our family for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The best vacation spot. The place was just perfect for the 6 of us adults for a birthday get-a-way. The guys fished from sun up til down. We really really enjoyed ourselves. Not to mention the neighbors as well.

SOL-MATE is the perfect place for a get-away! The house is very neat, clean and thoughtfully and beautifully decorated! And the outside is just a nice and neat as the inside with everything a person would need! Wonderful for entertaining a group of people-- VERY well put together! Scott and Lisa were very helpful and very quick to respond to my messages!

Excellent experience here. Very clean. Very peaceful area. Good dock to fish from. We saw dolphins every evening. Already booked our stay for next year!

We enjoyed our stay at Sol-Mate and thoroughly appreciated the communication with the owners. I hadn’t planned on bothering them with an questions, but I couldn’t help it and they were so nice about it. I wasn’t sure how we would enjoy not being directly on the beach, but the sunsets at this house are jaw dropping, and actually made me forget about the beach. When it came to beaching, we enjoyed visiting a different beach every day and picking a favorite. We were like 5 mins from multiple beaches and it was a breeze to get in and out. I was pleasantly surprised. We caught large blue crabs right off the dock! The kids were in heaven. There’s was always something to do or look at and we always enjoyed coming home to Sol-Mate. I enjoyed the breeze and sound of the water while sitting on the top balcony in the evenings; sipping and reading. My mother has bad knees and arthritis in her feet, and she was happy that the front stairs of the house were not steep like other beach houses in the area and having a bedroom on the main floor was wonderful for her…and again, those sunsets!! Wow! Book it! Our experience at Sol-Mate was our first experience visiting Dauphin Island and we are hooked! We’ll be back again and again. Thank you!

The only things it didn’t provide (mostly pantry items) were in fact listed on their website, which we checked beforehand, so we were prepared. Grocery store is about a 20 minute drive away. It’s a cozy spot but we still had plenty of room for 4 adults, 2 toddlers, and a baby. Perfect place for kids to have all the sand they could want without even leaving the house! Everything was ideal and we would stay there again in a heartbeat!

My family of 6 (myself, husband and 4 kids) rented this for a week for spring break. It was a wonderful stay. Great amenities we loved grilling out on the grill and spending time outside. Very spacious with beds enough for all of us. Very clean and stocked with towels and toiletries. We will definitely stay again in the future.
