What a perfect place for our large family to do all of the things we love! Thanks Matt!

We had a great time. Fishing was excellent. The lakes were beautiful. The Bear Den was wonderful. Lots to do even if you don't fish. I highly recommend staying here.

This is a great place to stay for any group. Matt is great! He answered any questions that we had during our stay. The cabins are nice and comfortable and the lodge was perfect for meals with a large group. We enjoyed the pontoon that we rented as well. I highly recommend staying here!

We have been doing family reunions for many years and this is one of the best places we have stayed. Hosts were gracious and property was pristine. If you stay here you will not want for anything to do., lake , games both indoor and out, unbelievable beach within walking distance, campfires, and just relaxation. We loved it and you will too.

Matt was there to meet us and show us around. Matt and CJ were great and did everything they could to make our time there enjoyable. This is a great location right on the lake. There were 4 cabins for our group of 15 to share. Then we had the lodge for our common area where we enjoyed our meals together, played pool, ping pong, foosball and the younger kids watched some movies. We rented the pontoon which was great for getting out on the lake and also getting over to McCarthy Beach. All in all we highly recommend renting from Matt and CJ. Our family is currently looking at schedules for next summer to see if we can agree on a week to go back. Sturgeon Lodge was great and Fun for all!

Matthew has a passion for what he does and that comes through in the Side Lake property. The cabins are clean and the grounds are in great shape. He went out of his way to coordinate the check-in, and made sure our needs were getting met throughout the week. There was never a shortage of things to do to keep the little kids or the big kids busy. Thank you, Matthew.

Absolutely wonderful place to get together with a big group. We had 12 adults, 3 children, 2 Little kids under 1, and a few dogs. There was PLENTY of space for us all. The description posted was very accurate. We had everything we needed here except food/drink (no blender however, we did bring one). Small beach area is perfect for kids, and easy for adults to just dip in. McCarthy Beach is about a 1/2 mile down the road or 20 min pontoon ride and is beautiful. Lots of outdoor space to play games/hang out. Wonderful lodge for rainy days. Matt and CJ are great hosts and are on site most of the time for anything you need (but gave us plenty of privacy). We will be coming back.

Our group was 17 people (ages 8-80+) and 3 dogs. Everyone had the best time! The property has all that you need and everything is beautifully maintained. There is a great state park nearby where you can swim, fish, bike and walk. We are already planning our trip for next year! Thanks Matt, CJ and boys for being amazing hosts!

We all had a great time! The lodge was a great gathering place for all of us while the cabins allowed us some privacy. CJ also helped pur 6 year old by pulling out her first tooth!

Liked the property and upkeep of it. Owner Takes pride of property and was great. The reunion we had , the relatives liked the detail and the main lodge and seemed to have everything so you did not need to bring things except food.

This was a perfect site for our family reunion. We had 17 children from 18 down to under a year and adults from Great Grandma to the youngest parent. The facilities were wonderful allowing for privacy for each family when desired and large enough areas for our group gatherings. The kitchen facilities in the lodge were plenty large enough for the meals we had together and the kitchens in the cabins allowed for the families to have breakfasts alone on their own schedule. The lodge has a great selection of indoor activities available for all age groups. The owners provided more outdoor activities than we were able to utilize; a nice selection. Our group rented the pontoon for the week which we all enjoyed, from oldest to youngest. The owners and their family were wonderful hosts and always accessible for anything we needed. The families rated this vacation as better than last year at Disney World. We can't say enough about how impressed and pleased we all were and would recommend Sturgeon Landing wholeheartedly for a vacation destination.

This property was the perfect getaway for our group of 14. It was wonderful to have the property to ourselves and to be able to spread out among 4 cabins so there was space and privacy. There were lots of fun activities on the property to entertain the kids and the adults. There were a few rainy days during our stay, but with an awesome central lodge for us to hang out in together, it was no problem. We enjoyed using the kitchen in the lodge for large group meals and there are multiple activity options in there as well. Great restaurant a few minutes away as well. Beautiful area, right on the lake, with the option to rent pontoons - highly recommend doing so. Matt and CJ were very nice and accommodating. We would love to stay at Sturgeon Landing again in the future.

We can’t thank Matt and CJ (and boys) enough for their hospitality in the week that we have stayed with them. The property was clean and well-maintained. If we needed anything they were there for us. It was very nice to have cabins for everyone and then one large lodge for everyone to be together for their meals, or just games and excitement. If we all could’ve, we definitely would’ve stayed one more week. There was 26 of us for an entire week and none of us felt cramped or overloaded with people. There was also a friendly store right up the road where anything we needed or forgot we could pick up quick. We also enjoyed the nice kayak rides and we caught quite a few fish. Thanks so much for a great week we really appreciate it.

This property had everything we needed for a great Labor Day weekend. Kayaks, outdoor games, and plenty of firewood for bonfires. It is also conveniently located to the beach and great food. Cabin is very well decorated too. Would definitely recommend to others and plan to visit again.

We had a great time here, loved our cabin, the access to all of the lakes and the availability of the pontoon and kayaks. Very family friendly, very clean, wonderful hosts!

Overall, it was a great stay. The staff was amazing. Very friendly crew. Lots of fun activities to do, such as boating, swimming, and kayaking. The scenery was beautiful and it's a great way to connect with your family.We will be definitely be back again.

We decided last minute to head up north and stayed at this charming cabin off of one of the channels. The cabin had the basic necessities and suited our needs just fine. Matt was super friendly and helpful. We rented a pontoon one day and had a blast, would highly recommend doing that. Overall we had an enjoyable time.

Clean and comfy, we had the best weekend of our summer! We will certainly be back and highly recommend this property. The hospitality was fantastic, so many fun things to do and we are looking forward to returning~

My girlfriends and I stayed in the Pine Lodge over the weekend and it was everything we'd hoped for! Cute little cabin situated smack dab in the middle of some of the most gorgeous lakes in Minnesota! We rented a pontoon so it made the experience that much better. The swimming and fishing was great and all the neighbors were nice to us. The owner was staying on the grounds in a separate house and was super cool and helpful yet we still felt independent, which was nice! I definitely recommend this place!

We stayed in the villa July 20-22, 2018 and loved it! Matt was fantastic! He answered all of our questions, before our arrival and during our stay. At first I didn't know that we shared a wall with another villa but it was totally fine! The place is cozy and had everything we needed for the weekend...including all the free firewood we wanted! We were able to rent a pontoon, which I highly recommend doing! We loved that the villa had air conditioning for those hot nights. There is a great beach very close by and lots of places to go for walks. (My kids really liked walking the short distance to get ice cream) The area is very wooded and a great escape from our every day lives. My family would love to go back and stay in a cabin next time. I really can't say enough about this place!! We absolutely loved our stay! It was a great opportunity for our family to unplug and re-connect!!

The work that Matt and CJ have done on the property is awesome! We had a great time playing horseshoes, cornhole, and kayaking! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We would stay there again!

This is a peaceful property with well-appointed cabins within walking distance of the State Park. We enjoyed our stay last year so reserved the cabin again this year. Matt and CJ are delightful hosts.

I've.been going.up to this area for.years with my son .this Tripp was with my wife 2 daughters.and my granddaughter.the host Matt and CJ were awesome and the cabin had everything that we needed .I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone

My husband and I went there with my daughter, her husband and their 4 kids. The kids loved the kayaks. My husbands boat motor wasnt working so we rented the pontoon for two days and when we got rained out one of the days we were refunded. They have dry firewood for you right there for free which is uncommon and we loved. The beach is a walk away at a state park and was also great. It was a great trip overall!!!

We had a great time. Cabin was clean and had everything, even A/C. Very convenient if you have a boat. Landing next door and a dock to leave it during the stay. My family loved the area and McCarthy Beach was awesome. We will be back!

The cabin is small but cozy. It fit our entire party of eight on a rainy weekend. Great little getaway.
