Start to finish the process was easy and communication was quick. The cabin was just as pictured if not better! Clean, comfortable beds, stunning view and it has everything we needed. We were basically down the road from the slopes and the drive into Durango was a straight as shot. My family would definitely stay here again!

The home is lovely and warm, filled with beautiful original artwork by the owner. The drive was accurately described, and we were adequately prepared. So close to Purgatory Ski Resort, and a 30 min drive to Durango. The views were BEAUTIFUL, especially from the hot tub. Wish the secondary bedroom was larger for the other adult couple staying with us, but the kids loved their bunk bed room. And our dog was quite comfortable as well. :) Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

Ski Vacation, less than 10 min to Purgatory resort from cabin, absolutely bring a 4WD and all terrain tires or chains this time of year, a lot of snow and ice to get to the cabin and steep hills. The owner or property manager is quick to respond to a need. The cabin and its surroundings are beautiful and comfortable.

This is the second time we've stayed at this property, and once again, we very much enjoyed it. The property is very well placed overlooking the creek with nice views, and the interior is cozy and warmed by the owner's artwork throughout the house. We hope to come again soon!

We loved this place. It was exactly as listed. The views were amazing, and had everything needed to feel like you were home.

Hands down one of my favorite cabins we’ve ever stayed in. House was immaculate and well appointed. Views from the deck were awesome.. we used the hot tub and fire pit every day. New fireplace insert was awesome.. really kept everyone warm and toasty. We also cooked nightly.. everything you need to make a gourmet meal.

The house was the nicest we've ever rented. Lots of cool toys; hot tub, fire pit and a real wood burning fireplace. Spacious, super quiet and beautiful views. There was also many original paintings on the walls which made it very special. I highly recommend this place.

Nicest VRBO rental we've ever been to. The setting is incomparable. We will be back.

Overall really enjoyed our week long stay. Thus property had everything were looking for and met all.our expectations.

This home is amazing! It’s in a great location & has a spectacular view. It was very clean when we arrived & the owners have done a great job providing everything you could need to have the comforts of your own home. The back patio is a great place to relax by the fire while listening to the creeks below & watching the humming birds feed at the back door feeder. The kids enjoyed the hot tub in the mornings and/or evenings while it was cool out. Once the temps dropped in the evenings we enjoyed the fire place inside, which they provided plenty of firestarter, kindling & firewood. The home had plenty of room for our family of five with room to spare. The art work throughout the home is amazing! Mark is truly talented. The location gave easy access to Durango, Mesa Verde, Silverton & Ouray, all the places that we wanted to visit while on our trip. We can’t say enough good things about this place. We hated to leave. We hope you enjoy as much as we did.

The property is better than the pictures. The view from the back deck is incredible and so relaxing with the sound of the stream below. We enjoyed hiking up and down the water and into the woods. Didn’t see any wildlife other than Marmots, including fish which was disappointing. But other than that, great place to stay.

This property gets A+'s for all the basics, cleanliness, well stocked kitchen, comfy bed, hot water, cozy environment. Add to that the amazing views and a well appointed interior and you have a gem of a retreat. Very relaxing and the beauty that surrounds you is very uplifting. We enjoyed our short visit and will return again for a longer stay. PS the survey included a rating on the property manager. We were going to leave it unrated since we had no problems thus no interaction with them, but it was requiredt in order to submit our review! Thus we gave them a 5 also. My wife and i came into the area to ride the durango train and spend some time exploring for my birthday. The home was week stocked and represented well in the photos. Mark made us feel at home and had the home decorated with his own, beautiful artwork. There is easy access to local attractions. Thanks!

When we arrived at the cabin, there was so much snow on the ground - we loved it! The property is so beautiful, with a beautiful view off the balcony. Morning coffee with the cold air & beautiful site is a must. The fire pit & fire place were an added bonus to our nights! The location of the cabin is also located in such an awesome spot, that at night you can see the stars light up the sky. Beautiful beautiful beautiful!! The owners are on top of their communication which is a must. Also, the art work is beautiful around the house. Definitely check it out. This one is for the books & will definitely be booking with again in the future!

Great location for a fantastic time in the mountains.

The house is wonderful. We enjoyed morning bird watching and a beautiful snow storm that lasted for most of the 5 days we were there. We enjoyed the peaceful quiet of the area, and the easy access to Durango and Purgatory. Only issues were with the hot tub (broken filter) and intermittent satellite and internet coverage (probably due to the weather). On the bright side, the house was warm and comfortable and perfect for a relaxing getaway.

From the moment we stepped through the door we felt a special energy. It felt like we were home. It's impossible to define all the beauty surrounding us. I was raised in Colorado but relocated to Arizona and have been trying to find my way back for the last 30 years! Again, it felt like I had come home. By the end of our first day we booked our next stay. Thank-you for sharing a mountain miracle. An added bonus... it was spotless and Marks' paintings accented every corner of the home.

Really enjoyed this home and now understand why it's booked a year out. The Owner's art and home decor is incredible, but as the listing says, one you get out on the patio, it's hard to go back inside. We even spotted an eagle from the deck. Kitchen was well stocked with all you'll need to prepare meals at home. Beds were very comfortable. Property manager was very responsive on the one minor issue we had (patio fire would not light). He knew exactly what it was and fixed it immediately. We hope to return one day. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Hello, this property needs TLC. The over growth of weeds, vegetation around the entire home is an eye sore, cannot see the steps that you show in one of your photos, Irrigation lines left hanging on the rail. The pictures that are listed of the exterior are not accurate. Walking in, pet stains, carpet needs to be replaced, the strong smell of urine (and we have dogs). back window is broke, will not close at all, back door has a stick in it, no lock on the handle, firepit wooden cover broke into pieces when we took it off, stove was not working. Seeing the other review today, the stove was not working in July, stove was still not working, day 5 of our trip Jesse came over to install, he was very nice and husband helped him carry in. This meant our meal planning went out the window. Upstairs bathroom sinks are clogged in both bathrooms, water sits. Bulbs burnt out in many rooms, the stream was completely dried up, which you did state it does not run all the time. Numerous other items I can list, could be easily addressed. Positive note, the artwork is amazing, the view in the back is beautiful. The Nugget Bar and food truck is right down the street which became our lunch/dinner many nights due to the stove issue. Would love to come back, but this HOUSE needs much TLC.

We booked our stay based on the main selling points described and photos - a luxury cabin on a river / waterfront. Unfortunately, the river wasn't flowing at all, not even a trickle. There were just a couple of puddles, no waterfall, no river. Not the property owners fault, but it's still listed that way and was the basis for our booking. The home itself was well furnished and has the owners artwork prominently featured (he's obviously very talented). But it's certainly not a luxury cabin. The firepit on the deck overlooking the river was the primary selling point. Unfortunately, the firepit didn't work (gasline didn't work for us), and outreach to the handyman property manager went unanswered. Along with other maintenance issues, it didn't meet our expectations based on the description. The area itself is fine, beautiful valley area north of Durango. Just be cautious as these actually seem to be small lots (1 acre), was a small home, and the river/creek seems to have flow issues unrelated to just seasonality.

This was a nice property to enjoy with great potential. Unfortunately, the oven did not work, the plumbing was backed up, and there were at least 3 pet (urine) stains on the carpet with other minor maintenance details that needed attention. I am told these issues will be addressed soon, and so the renter will want to verify that this has been completed. Once these issues have been given proper attention, this is a very lovely place to stay.

Great place to stay and loved the back porch with the fire pit. Great location, it was nice being close to both Durango and Silverton!

Great cabin with beautiful art work and views. Creek below back deck was low but contained plenty of fish. Cabin in great location to fish surrounding creeks and rivers. Has everything you need. Amazing stay.

Nice property. Beautiful location. Very comfortable home. Loved the hummingbirds that visited on the patio.

Over the years, we've rented properties all over Colorado and North Carolina. This is by far our favorite of them all. Sitting on the elevated deck watching the creek with its waterfall was mesmerizing. Watching the trees sway in the wind was relaxing. The morning light on the cliffs was invigorating. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare meals. I'm running out of adjectives that explain how wonderful this cabin really is. We plan on returning next year.

Outstanding location for nature lovers!

We enjoyed the beautiful views and quiet nights from our house. We had the perfect back yard view of the creek. The artwork throughout the house was really something to look at. Property owner is really talented. It was relaxing to sit in the hot tub in the evening after a long day of hiking.
