We had a wonderful time at the Mermaid Cottage! I hope to book it again !

My wife and I (from Regina) winter in Parkskville every January & February for the past 6 years. We always stay at Oceanside Village Resort. We usually rent our cottage (which is the same as The Mermaid Cottage) from the resort when we do our snow birding. My wife had surgery in late December and we had to cancel our usual stay. We picked an open time in early April to early May that was open at the Mermaid Cottage. It is a wonderful unit. The loft, which is usually open in most Cypress units is enclosed. This was fantastic as our daughter was coming to visit us with her significant other (who is from Ottawa and a first time visitor to the island) and stayed in this bedroom giving them extra privacy. Our son had the front bedroom and we the master bedroom. We did not use the sofa, but it, too could be opened into a bed. I especially enjoyed the 2 reclining chairs with footrests. All of our family was impressed with this cottage. The access to the swimming pool, hot tub/sauna and small work out are is easy and very close. Some of my highlights were - all the kitchen utensils (dishes, cutlery, cups, glasses, plates were like brand new. I was impressed that all the cutting knives in the cutting block were sharp. It is a new natural gas BBQ with a side burner (no propane bottle to worry about) and the gas was turned on already. The decor is very nice. We had a fantastic stay. I highly recommend this cottage. Had a great stay with my kids and pup. The pool was a hit! Super clean and not busy at all. Great trails for biking/walking and so close to the beautiful beach as well. Cabin was well laid out, quiet and so enjoyable overall, thank you! 😊

We really enjoyed our stay at the Mermaid cottage. It was lovely and clean and we took advantage of the trails to the beach and an excellent dinner at Cedars restaurant at tigh-na-Mara. We will be back! Thank you

I was very pleased with the location to amenities, the cleanliness, it was fully stocked with all you need. Also, the Quiet and Peacefulness, Being surrounded by Nature and the Friendliness of Everyone. Our Host, Dahlia was Excellent in response. and accommodating to early arrival and a extra hour for check out. Definitely would come back to stay at Mermaid cottage

Lots to do in the area. Nice drive to the west side of the island.

This was excellent for us. Close to the beach, pool and hot tub great with grandkids.

We loved the cottage and all of the furnishings. The kitchen was very well equipped with plenty of dishes, glasses etc. The barbecue worked great the outdoor area was good as well! The kids loved the pool. Also the mini golf, bumper cars, and ice cream parlour. Arcade was fun too!

Clear instructions and well kept home, all details taken care off. a splendit visit.

Great vacation home!

We had an amazing time here. The location is great and the unit was incredible. It was well kept, with all the amenities needed for our stay. We will definitely be coming back!

We enjoyed the comfortable cottage and the amenities on the resort. We were close to many great recreational sites. Wonderful vacation area.

We really enjoyed our stay, very well stocked kitchen. Beds were comfy and clean. Location was great right next to the beach and golf. Couldn't recommend a better stay. We are already looking forward to our return.

This is our 4th year staying at this resort and this cottage was definitely one of the cleanest and well decorated. Loved the fenced backyard as well. All the amenities were great. Just need to remember to bring our own cooking oil in the future.

Three generations shared the Mermaid Cottage. Very well stocked kitchen.

Overall Mermaid Cottage was clean, well equipped and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay very much.The outside decking area was a bit shady but when it's really hot that could be a bonus.

Great place to stay.

We found the Mermaid Cottage to be about as close to perfect as it gets. Clean, comfortable rooms. We didn’t do any cooking, but everything we might have needed was available. And loved the location! Perfect spot!

Location is stellar !! Had a lot of fun in pool and mini golfing with kids .. the cabin was cozy and had basic amenities . Beds were comfortable and overall a nice unit .. thanks for letting us stay .

The accommodation was adequate and we were happy that the cottage was dog friendly.

Close proximity to the ocean, hot tub and pool on premises (pool could have been warmer but wasn't a deal breaker for the kids) each room setup with TV and all streaming options. Good wifi and a nespresso! Wonderful place, good price. Would stay again

Very well equipped and laid out cottage. We stayed a month and had everything we needed for meals, walks sand travels.

My brother and I stayed here and had a great time. We grew up in Parksville, and it's wonderful to be able to return every few years and stay in a comfortable, quiet place.

Mermaid Cottage is a clean, comfortable VRBO near many great amenities. We enjoyed the common area, deck and nearby minigolf. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked and communication with the host was excellent. I would stay there again!
