Quite cabin in the mountains perfect for our family getaway. Close to Deadwood and Mount Rushmore. Owners communicated without issue. Definitely would stay again!

Beautiful location, it was everything we were looking for, the only thing that was of concern was the shower on first floor with getting the temp right and still be able to conserve water, but the surrounding and location made up for any inconveniences

good location, the downstairs bath was a tight fit, thought I was on a cruise ship, but everything worked.

Wonderful place to stay with great hosts. Beautiful views and everything you need to sit back and relax. Cabin is on a steep hill which my Jeep loved! But my Daughters car not so much. Once you learned the tricks it was a breeze to navigate. Would definitely rent again if we are on the area.

We had a great family vacation. Got to see deer every night. The cabin is beautiful.

Beautiful Cabin located in Rochford. Nice and quiet with wild life frequenting. Close to the Lead and Deadwood area. If you are going south it is 11 miles of gravel, but the road is good and about 45 minutes to Hill City area. If you're heading north it is perfect. The driveway is graveled and fairly steep, but doable. If you want some family time away from the noise you could not do better. Overall we loved the time there. Al and Rosemary are very nice people.

iT WAS A GREAT PLACE TO STAY, REALLY NICE. I DO HAVE ONE COMPLANT THOUGH, THE RUTTY GRAVEL DRIVE LEADING UP TO THE CABIN LEFT MUCH TO BE DESIRED, IT WOULD SCARE AND CONFUSE MOST OLDER PEOPLE AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO KNOW THAT WITH FEW EXCEPTION, YOU HAVE TO DRIVE ON TWISTY, WINEDY ROADS FOR TEN MILES, COMING AND GOING.

Nice place. Rooms were a little small for us but ok.

It was a pleasure visiting with Rosemary prior to our trip. Cabin was very clean and we enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the morning and evenings watching the deer and chipmunks. The location was a challenge getting to some of our sites we wanted to see but very doable. The goodie basket that was there when we arrived was a very special treat.

It was the 4h time staying at Roth cabin and we will do it again next year.

Having no internet allowed the kids to play outside in the yard. Evenings family time playing games and cards.

Pictures and description of this property and location so not do it justice! The cabin was beautiful, clean, cozy, and had all the basics you need! The owners were fantastic, checking in during our arrival and making sure we had all we needed. The goody basket was a nice surprise as well! My kids felt right at home. Would definitely recommend this location if you are looking to be in the hills!

The cabin and property were well maintained and very nice. The view from the porches was great ! Right at a trailhead for Mickelson Trail, which is a great trail to hike or hike. Just be prepared for no cell or internet for several miles all around you and you will need to drive 20-30 minutes for a city/town or cell service. But, if you’re looking for a lovely relaxing beautiful get away into nature this is perfect! We loved our stay. Cabin had everything we needed and was very clean.

The pictures do not do this little slice of heaven justice. Absolutely beautiful cabin and the view is spectacular. Almost didn’t make it up the driveway a few times, but as the sign says, “You have to climb the mountain to see the view”.The residents of Rochford (Moonshine Gulch”, all 9 of them are the kindest people that all of us have ever met. They offered their vehicle when one of our friends fell and hurt her leg. (We were on bikes). Al and Rosemary are compassionate people. Al towed our trailer all the way to Rapid City where our RV was being repaired. We spent 2 weeks there and really got to know the locals. We will miss them. Thank you Al and Rosemary.

What a great place to disconnect from the everyday stress of life! My family and I loved every minute of our time at Roth cabin.

Cabin is a convenient location for northern and southern Black Hills activities.

This is a great property in a quaint little town. Nearby access to ATV trails and the Michelson trail. Property had everything you need for your stay. So nice to not have access to WiFi or internet! Owner was wonderful to work with and answered questions within a few hours. Hope to be back!

We are in love with this cabin. The Roth’s made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay wonderful. Rochford is such a friendly small town. We will be back again.

If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet place to get off the grid and relax with your family is highly recommend this house! It was exactly what we were looking for, from the basket with goodies waiting when we got there to the wildlife in the yard each morning and night we enjoyed every minute of our stay! Plus the Roth’s were extremely helpful and welcoming ! We would def recommend this home to our friends and also stay here again! Thanks for a great vacation!

We loved our time at the Roth cabin! Our main purpose on this trip was to go gatoring on the trails. There were so many that we may need to come back next summer😀�. Grandkids spent a lot of time on the decks and the littlest was thrilled with his little chair/bed. The gift basket was so thoughtful-we made good use of it. Thank you!!

Rosemary and Al are top tier hosts. Even above how great the cabin is or the views from the cabin or even the drive to the cabin, which were all world class! I would rate the the helpfulness of the Roth's to make our stay there as enjoyable as possible the best part of our stay. One example is the fact that since there is no cell service at the cabin (at least for us with our service provider) they provide a landline and allow you to make long distance calls at their expense if you need to. We only needed to use it twice while we were there but it was greatly appreciated. Book this cabin if you plan on staying in the Black Hills, you will not be disappointed!

Welcome basket waiting on table was a nice plus. Decorated nicely. Bathtub however was too small to be called a bathtub (not adult size).

The Roth cabin was perfect for our family of both young children and teenagers. The cabin is located in Rochford, which is a beautiful little town high in the hills. We were about an hour from all destinations and a 30-minute drive from Deadwood. There is no internet connection or cell service, which was a plus. It was nice to "unplug" for a week! The cabin had everything we needed: comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen (yes there is a coffee maker and filters), and information/maps of all destinations in the area. The welcome basket was much appreciated and stocked full of souvenirs and treats! We enjoyed having our morning coffee/breakfast on the deck listening to the nearby creek and looking out for the ample wildlife that either visited us daily or was spotted on the road to our various destinations. Thank you for making us feel like family! I would recommend this home and would stay here again!

Just what a “city” family needed was to be off the grid and enjoy our time together to reconnect! The Cabin was #1 on all of our lists. All the amenities of home and then some! The goody basket included The fixings for S’mores - the kids loved that. We saw deer, chipmunks and even a red fox! No bugs until late at night, but the campfire kept them away. The driveway was steep and a little intimidating, after the first time I was a pro at it! The cabin is centrally located by Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Hill City, Keystone and Deadwood. We are all planning our next visit to the Ross Cabin again! This is a gem!

Great place

Our family enjoyed our experience staying at the Roth's Cabin. It was so peaceful and relaxing, totally away from the hustle and bustle of one's hectic everyday life. I asked my teenagers their favorite part of their vacation and they said the friendly deer visiting us daily, a baby fox that we spotted driving back from Hill City and the bike ride on the Mickelson Trail. We were delighted by the scenery on the trail and pleasantly surprised to see a cave where the path lead right through it. We enjoyed this quiet and cute cabin. No cell service or internet connection made for a very relaxing time. Very steep driveway so probably not recommend to anyone arriving in a car. I would absolutely recommend this cabin to my friends. We hiked the Mickelson Trail from Rochford to Mystic and it was awesome!! Highly recommend it. Thanks to the Roth family for lending us your cabin to make lasting memories!!
