Incredible property overlooking Flathead River and rapids. Spacious living room, bedrooms, fully equipped basement complete with a pool table made for an amazing stay. Perfectly situated for a short drive to Glacier National Park! Would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay! Comfortable beds and all of the amenities you need. Kitchen well stocked. Close to Glacier. To get to the river is not easy. Lots of steps and a rope but overall we would stay here again.

This house was fabulous. We rented this property because of its proximity to Glacier. There were 3 couples and it fit us perfectly. Dick the owner was very helpful and had stocked the house with everything you might need from Bear spray to fishing poles and even wood for an outside fire. But what we loved, as an artist and husband a fly fisherman, was the ability to reach the Flathead river. There are stairs that go right down to the river. The guys hired a guide on Monday but ended catching more fish from the river in front of the cabin. We enjoyed our week of hiking, fishing, shopping and painting.

House was great and well equipped- including bear spray and fishing poles and swimming towels and coolers. Location is perfect for Glacier. Many hikes in and outside of the park. Close to town yet tucked away in the trees and overlooking the River- not another house in sight. I will stay here again.

Duck was wonderful in showing us around and making sure the house was perfect. It was such a calming stay. We loved the fishing - and it’s a gorgeous spot. I want to come back!

Loved staying at the River House. It was quiet and beautiful and just 10 minutes from the West Entrance at Glacier National Park. Dick was an excellent host! Would highly recommend this home!!

What a great place to stay. The view is breathtaking. It is picture-perfect. The location is great! 10 min from Glacier. The house is very clean. It is decorated beautifully. They are working on a few small things but nothing that got in the way. The little extras at the house made our stay even better. We can wait to come back.

The location to Glacier National park is amazing about 10 min drive. The view of the river is beautiful. There were canoes or kayaks to use on the river, although we didn’t use them. There was bear spray available for use - we carried it each day. That was a nice addition. A nice BBQ grill. A propane heater unit on the deck was nice for the cool evenings. The cabin has great potential. The bed was comfortable and firm! The appliances were clean and well cared for. Use of the washer and dryer were helpful. The overall cleanliness of the place was very poor. The floor was extremely dirty with sticky places under the table. The end tables, lamps etc were very dusty. Cobwebs and dust on the light fixtures Dead spiders in the upper windows. The table was sticky - couldn’t ever get it clean. Crumbs under the table placemats. Crumbs in the silverware holder. New fly tape stored with the utensils. A 1 inch gap between the wood flooring and the kitchen tile with crumbs in the crack. We spent several hours wiping things down and sanitizing. Even though the view was beautiful, the lack of cleanliness will stop us from returning here again. Needs more attention to details.

A beautiful house near Glacier National Park, to rest and recreate and to engage in many wanter activities and visit the park. The house is really comfortable for a family of 5. The basement sleeps 4, but is pretty cold and humid and the shower is small. It is possibly great for children to stay down there so adults can have some peace and quiet. The kitchen is stacked and the owner is very nice in offering to entertain with activities in nature.

What a beautiful location! If you need serenity, this is the place. From the wonderful hospitality from the owner to the rushing sounds of the river as you sit in the deck, we couldn’t ask for more. The kids loved the pool table for rainy evenings and enjoyed the fire pit on the other nights. Enjoyed our breakfast on the patio each day with the patio heater. Dick not only had excellent suggestions for the area,, but he took us out to Echo Lake, dropped his 5 boats for us to use. We all enjoyed a beautiful morning on the lake. We appreciate the use of hiking sticks and bear spray as well! Highly recommend!!!

The property was close and convenient to the West Glacier park entrance, yet off the main highway, so it’s quiet and secluded. Views from the family room and the deck were amazing, overlooking the river. Dick met us there when we arrived and took the time to show us around the house and property. We spent mornings and evenings enjoying the deck, where we grilled out...and there was also a nice spot for a small campfire where we enjoyed making s’mores for dessert. They had everything we needed for a perfect vacation week. We will certainly stay here again for our next visit to Glacier National Park.

This is a pretty house in a great location for Glacier National Park. The owner is wonderful taking us on a boat trip down the river. Highly recommended

Our family of five and my mother just returned from this rental and it was amazing! We spent a week exploring Glacier Park and the surrounding area. Each time we’d pass another rental or hotel we’d say we were so glad we had The River House. The location on the river was spectacular! It was 10 minutes to the Glacier Park entrance and not even a mile to several restaurants. You’d never know you were that close to everything because the home is tucked away in a private wooded area. The home was very clean, well organized and comfortable. It was well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The beds were comfortable and the views were amazing. The homeowner was very nice and explained everything we needed to know. The temps outside were especially warm while we were there so we took advantage of swimming in the river more than once. The stairs down to the river are steep but well built and pretty easy to maneuver. However, last 1/4 of the way down does not include stairs so it can get tricky on the rocks. The descent is not suitable for small children or those with bad knees or balance issues. However, we managed just fine with a walking stick. The water is crystal clear. We swam and my husband went fly fishing. We felt special because no other home had a way down to the river like that. 😁� I have already recommended this home to several family friends because we enjoyed it so much. I would absolutely rent it again!

We enjoyed our stay at this home in Hungry Horse in July 2019. There were a few pleasant surprises, one being that the loft bedroom had its own bathroom! The house was clean and the view was wonderful. The owner greeted us on arrival and went over a few things. We did need to call mid week for garbage removal, but when we returned from our hike in the park we found it taken care of. The grill was well maintained and got hot quick. It was great for some salmon and steaks. The wifi was decent. It was not very usable in the basement bedroom and it was still a bit slow in the living area. All in all a wonderful house and a wonderful stay. We will return to this property the next time we visit Glacier.
