Monique the magnificent welcomed us and had been in touch days before arrival to check our arrival time. She arranged for a bouquet of valentines flowers and a restaurant booking. She was proactive and could not have been more helpful. The room was large and the sizeable bathroom had a shower and a bath. The hotel was well situated opposite a section of beach and a few minutes drive from Aghulas where there were (a few) restaurants and the port at Struisbaii and its harbour side restaurant ‘Catch Cook’. A little further on is Point Aghulas which is the southernmost point of Africa.

Nothing really except perhaps that the breakfast croissants were pretty poor. The kitchen staff were lovely and (as we have found all over ZA) helpful and keen to please. They cooked fresh hot breakfast to order while we were having fruit, juice and coffee. Perhaps the pool area could benefit from some glass screens to deflect the strong winds that blow off the Indian Ocean.

Sehr gute Lage direkt am Meer, nur von einer Strasse getrennt. Parkplätze direkt vor dem Haus und kostenlos.

Ab 18 Uhr ist niemand mehr im Haus. Die Beschreibung war eher dürftig. Bei Ankunft im Dunkeln kein automatische Licht, daher sehr unkonfortabel. keinerlei Hilfe bei Gepäck, auch am nächsten tag beim Auschecken. Meerblick gebucht, aber sehr eingeschränkt durch den Vorbau und die Nachbarn. Nur wenn man sich richtig stellt, kann man das Meer sehen. Zimmer recht klein und sehr warm ohne Klimaanlage.

Kurzfristig ein Zimmer bekommen

Ein Château sieht anders aus… und ein Boutique Hotel auch. Kein Essen ausser Frühstück. Strasse direkt vor dem Guest House.

Nähe zum Meer mit Pool vor dem Zimmer, Ort an dem wir uns sicher fühlten.

Das Zimmer war eher klein, der 2. Koffer konnte auf keine Ablage gestellt werden. Der Lichtschalter für das Bad musste von der Eingangstür betätigt werden.

Der Frühstücksservice von Hope (dem freundlichen Frühstückskoch) war sehr aufmerksam und lecker. Wie üblich iN Südafrika eine Mischung aus kontinentalem Frühstücksbuffet und englischem Frühstück. Das Zimmer war in Ordnung, hatte eine kleine eigene Terrasse allerdings zur Straßenfront raus. Die Restaurantempfehlung war sehr gut, insgesamt fühlte ich mich gut betreut.

Excellent sea view, big bathroom, Nespresso supplied. Fridge in room. Honesty bar is a great idea, has great view. Did need a price list though, when checking our they asked us to come up with the prices! Netflixin room

No kettle in room (initially), no DSTV, not much else.
