As a group of six , we had a lovely stay . We were greeted on arrival by our host, Michele. He gave us a tour of the property and contact info . He had arranged for pick up from the train station and our driver was lovely .We booked him for our return trip .
There is plenty of space indoors and outdoors . The pool was a nice bonus for the hot August heat .
There is a footpath right next to the house which brings you directly into the village . Highly recommended Orlando’s and Wine Bar which is just a short walk at the end of the path .
Michele hosted a pizza night for us with his lovely wife ….best pizza ever !!!
The fresh tomatoes and plums from their garden and an overly bottle of wine were waiting for us on arrival were delicious.
For a larger travel group , this is definitely a place to consider .
Thank you so much for an amazing 5 day stay !

A week with 3 generations under one roof was perfect. The host Michele is a chef so prepared us a pizza night that was delicious and so much food we had leftovers for 5 adults the next day. Michele brought us fresh tomatoes and eggs from the onsite garden and chickens. There’s a great view of the sea. The veranda is gated which was ideal with a 3 year old and 1 year old. A short walk into the village and an easy drive for day trips around the Amalfi Coast. Highly recommend this villa for a group. So much outdoor seating and plenty of shade. The A/C units worked great for us Americans ;)

Casa Gaia, from where we've enjoyed the most superb view over the Bay of Naples and the Vesuvius, is a truly enchanting place.
The house is very generously equipped- from plentiful seats, tables, deckchairs, towels and kitchen equipment•••
The manager, Michele Maresca,
made our stay a most pleasant experience- competent, reactive and helpful, all of which made our vacation so utterly enjoyable!!!

I stayed at Casa Gaia Sorrento with five of my friends for four nights. We found the house to be perfect for our group. The property is gorgeous and the pool was perfect to relax by and enjoy some wine and food. We loved how big the outdoor space was and ended up spending most of our time outside on the patio and by the pool. Even though the location was about a 18 minute drive from the Sorrento town center, we really enjoyed being away from Sorrento because it was nice and peaceful. Michele was a great host and very attentive and answered all my questions via WhatsApp.
There are a few things that we would strongly encourage Michele to address. The first is the WiFi, I think there needs to be better WiFi coverage in the house on the upper levels especially. The second is the hot water, there was no hot water in the primary bathroom on the top level. I waited 15 minutes for the water to warm up and it never did so I had to either use another bathroom or take a cold shower. Last is the ants that were in the double bedroom. My friend woke up covered in ants and had ants in his suitcase. The ants were a big problem for us and this needs to be addressed immediately. If someone was allergic to ants and got bit, that would be a big problem.
All in all, the house was great and we really enjoyed our stay there! Thank you Michele for being a great host!

I truly would love to give this villa a 5 star but I simply can't based on our unique experience.
Pros:
- The host was very easy to communicate with and very responsive. They live 5 min away so they were quickly to react to any questions/issues.
- The local town is exactly a 7 min walk to the first restaurant. Another 10 min to the grocery store which is on the end of the town. The walk is a bit uphill. Don't use Apple Maps or google maps as it won't show you the proper way. The walk is a private walkway and not the street so no cars and much faster.
Cons:
- We kept running out of hot water - it seemed like only one shower can get hot water at a time. There was a water main issue in the main town that lasted one day that may have contributed.
- We tripped the circuit breaker once and lost power
- We had to carry our bags out the back when we left because the gate remote didn't work
- I asked the hosts to schedule a taxi for us and ended up getting over charged. I scheduled myself afterward for a much better rate.
These issues might have been a one time issue but I got quite upset running out of hot water with suds in my hair twice.
It was a beautiful villa and there is a good chance the issues we ran into won't occur with others but given the amount of money we paid for the villa, I expected a smoother stay. I don't think we will be back but since these issues are easily fixable, I would expect the host to address quickly for future stays.

Michele was a wonderful host, very attentive and helpful. The pool was surprisingly small, considering the picture of the property.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property for a large group or family.
Thank you.

Michele was a terrific host. He assisted with transportation and suggestions for restaurants. As an added bonus he cooked us the best homemade pizza in the brick oven at the patio. The property is located close to great neighborhood of Sant’agata, which is about a 10 minute walk from the Villa. It has several nice restaurants and cafes. There is a panoramic view of Sorrento from the villas patio and pool area. The house was spacious for 4 adults and clean. Would definitely recommend this property!

The house itself was set up perfectly for our 2 families that stayed here. We loved spending our time outside at the pool and dining al fresco. The air conditioning in the rooms worked great and were much appreciated during the heatwave Italy was having. It is a 10 min walk to Sant’Agata and it has everything you need! Bar Orlando was one of our favorite places to eat. The food and drinks were great and a good price. Fiorentino had great pasteries and the gelato shop in town was delicious!
If you want a true Italian village vacation, this house is perfect. Warning though, if you plan on going to Sorrento a lot to get to other places and do not have a car, it will cost you. It was summer travel season, but the 15 minute taxi ride up the hill to the house from Sorrento was 60-80 Euros each way. The host, was great at booking a driver to take us places and they had the best price (60 Euros). When we would find a taxi to bring us back they would charge (70-80 Euros). We would have asked the host to get us his driver to bring us home, but we were never sure of the time we would return. The good thing is that the taxi were large and able to bring all 8 of us in one in 1 trip. Not sure if you had a car how easy parking would be around town or how much it would cost.
We would definitely come back and just stay at the house and walk to Sant’Agata for everything.

The Villa is superbly located in a quiet area of Sorrento yet close enough to walk to local villages and into the town of Sorrento itself. Buses were very affordable and frequent which made going on tours from Sorrento easy. We visited Capri, the Amalfi coast, Pompeii and Herculaneum and took part in limoncello making which was organised by Michele the host who also cooked pizza for us and arranged our transfers from and to the airport. This is an excellent Villa and location for exploring this area of Italy which was made even more special due to the hospitality and ease of contact with the host. Would highly recommend a stay here.

We had a wonderful time at Casa Gaia and the layout for our family was absolutely perfect. My husband and i had the room that adjouns to the bedroom with two twin beds for our kids while his parents took the master suite one level above us and our aunt who doesnt do well with stairs, took the ground floor living room sofa bed. We dismt need a livong room as we spent all our time outside in the lovely space there. The kids used the pool everyday when we got back from touring and the town of Sant Agata was so quaint. It was a real escape from the craziness of crowds in Sorrento and the Amalfi coast. Michele was a host like I have never experienced with a VRBO rental. Always there, always available and booked all our tours for us. It was an amazing time we hope to repeat with friends soon.

It was a very nice stay. Beautiful view.

While the location was lovely as it is very close to a little town, just a 10-minute walk. The house itself was odd. You couldn't tell from the pictures but one bedroom is through another bedroom and down a set of stairs. So you went upstairs, through that bedroom then down another set of stairs to the second bedroom (the one with two twin beds). If you are traveling with a family and they could utilize that space it would be alright, as long as the little ones are good with stairs.
We had issues with getting the heating to work in the house, it would randomly turn on and off. We traveled in early May so the evening was still cold and it would have been nice to have control over the temperature.
Additionally, in the pictures, you see images of a top terrace with an amazing view and a table to have meals, this space is occupied by someone. You do not in fact have access to the space, so the description says you have the whole house but that is not the case.
Lastly, it was never mentioned to us about the tax for staying at the house until the very last day. Furthermore, we were told we had to pay it in cash. I am not one for just handing over cash to someone without really understanding what this tax is. I also do not understand why it was never mentioned anywhere on the listing or in my communication with the property owner.

Unfortunately, the weather was horrible and rained all the time during our stay. This fact was frustrating but certainly not the fault of the beautiful house which is in a beautiful location. We enjoyed the walk up the path to St Agata for dinner, drinks, shopping and church. Two facts that should be more clear when booking this house is that the second and third bedrooms are separated only by a sliding door and the bathroom is only accessible to one of the rooms. The other bathroom is downstairs. If you expect, as we did, three bedrooms with a bathroom for each, this is not the house. Other than that, this house offers a wonderful experience.

The villa was absolutely perfect for our 5 night stay in the sorrento area! Michele was an absolute perfect host & helpful with all of our transfers & excursion planning. The little town of Sant Agata is wonderful with some great restaurants! It’s a short walk. Highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Gaia and the wonderful hospitality of Michele who was super responsive and helpful. The home was well laid out, clean, and had lots of outdoor space to enjoy when the weather was good. The beds were comfortable and the three bathrooms a nice touch. It's a short walk up to the village which has nice restaurants and grocery shops. We weren't provided access to the pool house which has the sauna and soaker tub, so that part of the listing may need to be updated. But overall, we loved the place. If you don't have a car, getting to/from town can add up as it was around 50 euros each way by taxi. A price we were happy to pay to be out of the hustle and bustle of the city and to enjoy the surrounding nature. Staying at Casa Gaia was a high point of our trip for sure!
5.0
This was a great place to stay to access the best of the Amalfi Coast. It is an easy walk to restaurants and shops in St Agata and that is a great little non-touristy town. To go to Sorrento or Capri or Positano I would arrange a car ahead of time because it is a bit of a trek but worth it. Michele will help you with that -- and definitely take him up on the offer to cook pizza for you and your family at the villa. That was a highlight for sure! He even makes his own wine and limoncello.

The villa is tucked away on the hills, but easily accessible by bus. We loved the views of the bay, Mount Vesuvius, and the fog rolling in each morning. The patio space was a great feature, especially for the seven of us (4 adults, 3 teens/pre-teens) to hang out and have meals. We also put all that energy to use walking the pedestrian paths to Sorrento and Sant Agata.
5.0
I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay. Our host was so very welcoming. He provided information both about the area and about the lovely villa. He had answers or help for any and all questions I had, he even welcomed us with delicious local fruit and delicacies of the region. The property itself, the listing does not do it justice. It’s spacious, has an amazing view of everything below, and was plenty of room for our large group. The outside area for entertaining is amazing, we’re the weather warmer during our stay I don’t think I ever would’ve come inside. To boot, we liked the property itself so much we picked it as the location to perform our wedding ceremony we came to the country for. Additionally it is close to sorrento, as well as has a beautiful path to the town of Santa Agata. As I’ve said multiple times, I can’t say enough good things about our stay and we most assuredly will be back

We had an amazing stay at Casa Gaia!
We immediately fell in love with the outdoor space including the pool, patio, and covered outdoor kitchen with plenty of space for relaxing and eating with our group of eight.
Michele met us for check in and checkout which made these processes easy. He also made homemade pizza for us with ingredients from his garden and his own handmade Limoncello!
The location was perfect to visit Capri and Positano.
We can not recommend this property highly enough and look forward to returning!

Beautiful home with great space. The pool and property overlook Sorrento and Mt. Vesuvius. Sorrento, Amalfi, and the beach at Nerrano is easy to get to via bus or taxi. St. Agata is a few minutes walk up a stone pathway. There is grocery and multiple excellent restaurants in St. Agata. Michele was fantastic. He arranged boat tours, transportation, and grocery delivery. His pizza night was one of our best nights in Italy! We loved the property, Michele, and Sorrento. We hope to return very soon. Thank you.

Gorgeous
Very easy to carry out the rental process through the website.
Michele is an absolute pleasure to deal with, as well as being a true gentleman nothing at all is too much or too little trouble for him.
His Pizza making skills are truely extraordinary and his knowledge of the local Red wine is well worth a conversation.
The Villa itself is well kept, clean and within walking distance (10 mins) to local village up what could be contrived as a quite a steep slope, take your time and you do get there !
The Villa has everything you require, cooker, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, iron etc .Nothing is missing.
Would I go back, yes in an instant, one of the most relaxing ,enjoyable Villa stays I have taken.
Congratulations Michele.

Heaven on a hill
Spent the most lovely week at Casa Gaia with family. The perfect place to enjoy Sorrento and the surrounding area. Toured Pompeii and Capri, but also had 2 days on the beach at Marina Grande , got in some kayaking and hiking ,and just enough shopping in Sorrento. Santa Agata is a quick 10 minute walk and has many wonderful restaurants, cafes, small fish and produce markets and a large grocery store. You do not need or want a car here, buses go everywhere for 2-3 dollars , taxis are abundant, and if you want to go further Michele was exceptional at setting up rides and day tours. After a busy day , sitting by the pool watching the sun set was so relaxing. We had plenty of room for 6 people and spent 90% of our time outside on the beautiful terraced patio….. Best trip ever !!!

A lovely oasis!
Michele was a really accommodating and helpful host - very friendly and communicative! He and his wife were also kind enough to host us (by request) on our night with with a delicious dinner of local delights. Michele's house is a very peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the town center. And the short walk from the house to the charming small town of Sant'agata was an absolute highlight! All in all, it was a lovely option for our budget near Sorrento and we loved having all the space of the home and yard. Although small, the pool was a nice place to take an afternoon dip with the view of Sorrento, which was quite lovely! Overall, the home was totally nice for our stay, but one thing we wish had been made more clear on the listing was that there is truly no internet access at the house. It only works, with a very spotty signal, in specific parts of the yard + house. This was tough for us because we were really relying on the internet for daily plans and reservations, and also needed an internet signal for our baby monitor. We appreciate the intent of an internet-free oasis - but if you are needing internet access, just letting you know! A couple areas of the house felt a little mustier than other rentals we are accustomed to, and while it was clean overall, there were a few areas of the house that felt as though they could benefit from a deep cleaning. All this said, it was truly a lovely stay with lovely sights and wonderful relaxing days!!!

50th anniversery
We planned a trip for our 50th anniversary with family and this villa far exceeded our expectations from the views and the space for large gatherings.
Michele the host was there for us whenever we called on him for advice for anything we needed for this trip. He even made a meal for all of us in the wood fired oven.
We will definitely plan on this villa for our future trips to Italy,

Incredible Host and Villa
The place was great! This really made my trip a wonderful experience. The hosts were awesome with helping coordinate taxis and transportation from Naples. They hosted a pizza night and a dinner for us as well! Honestly the best hosts I've ever experienced, highly recommend.

Me and my family spent my birthday at Casa Gaia. We had a diverse group of elderly and some kids. It was an amazing stay with Michele and his wife being superb hosts. Everything was arranged, from receiving the best pizza ever when we arrived from the airport to being totally spoiled every evening.
The villa is up in the mountains, with a beautiful view over the bay and a small walk from the village St Agata which you can easily get to by walking a pedestrian walk from the house.

Great villa, amazing view!
We were a group of five adults and two 15 year olds. The property was large enough for all of us although the living room was used for a bedroom which meant we did most of our hanging out in the garden. That worked out well as the garden has plenty of sofas, chairs, lounging chairs and the pool with an amazing view.
The place is beautiful, clean, and just a 10 minute walk from Santa Agata, which is a fun little town, away from the craziness of the Amalfi coast. The food there was good as was the coffee. There are grocery stores, etc.
The pool isn't big but is a great place to cool down after a day in the hot sun. We also walked from the town to the Marina di Crapolla, a beach that can be reached by foot from the house. You have to walk down 700+ steps to the beach so it's quite the hike back up. But the beach is superb.
Outside kitchen at the villa is great.
Directions to the house were confusing as the house number didn't correspond to the address we were given. We found the place eventually.
Wifi is listed as free but it's spotty and only accessible from the poolside and one bedroom (the one with the two single beds). Not a huge deal but if you are planning to do some work there, it's not the best.
All in all, we had a great time.

Breathtakingly beautiful
With the cloud of Covid-19 hanging over us, this was just the place to stay to rest, relax and focus on our family. Such a special house in the hills with a stunning view to lift your spirits.
Michele was so kind and thoughtful from the welcome to the farewell, offering information, advice and providing anything we needed. Covid-19 restrictions did affect some of our plans - do check things online.
We used local taxi service, buses, trains and boat trip to explore the area and the villa was wonderful to come back to and chill after a long, hot day exploring.
We loved the 30 min walk down to Sorrento on the pathway (trainers a must) and walked up to the local friendly town of St Agata most days. Great reasonably priced restaurants, shops and Orlando’s bar is great.
We enjoyed barbecuing in outdoor kitchen using meat, fish and produce bought locally.
We’ve so loved our stay at Casa Gaia and visiting the Amalfi Coast.
Thank Michele- you’re a star ⭐️.

Graziana was the perfect hostess and her home was a lovely haven. We loved our stay - from the beautiful property to the amazing cooking lesson to the lifelong friendship we now have with Graziana. We are already making plans for our next visit. The whole experience was priceless. Grazie Graziana!

Spectacular Stay!
Graziana provided an outstanding experience in a beautiful property with spectacular scenery! There’s a unique energy about the property that affords a relaxing, refreshin ambiance. We also appreciated use of organic materials and cleaning agents, hard to find in accommodations. The homemade dishes Graziana prepared for us were delightful, as was her graciousness. This is a place to return to again and again!

Casa Gaia , A piece of paradise
Its hard to sum up the fantastic and unforgettable Italian holiday my family and I had at Casa Gaia. From the breathtaking view of the Bay and Mt Vesuvius, warm and friendly hospitality of Graziana and Bruce, beautifully spacious and warm villa accommodations. Just superb. Fantastic location to so very much. We loved walking to town daily along the stone path and the bus was so easy to take as well. SantAgata is full of wonderful restaurants. We so enjoyed exploring the town. And the market delivers your groceries to villa if you go by foot. Everything was just wonderful. We loved eating meals at the outside kitchen and making homemade pizza. The hike to Sorrento was so much fun, and we took the bus back up. Absolutely use the driving services of Arturo, he is friendly, efficient and pricing was great. His team drove us from Rome, central transfers and return. Graziana's breakfast was wonderful and we loved touring thru her beautiful garden and grounds. We can not wait to return. Thank you Graziana, we will never forget you.
Grazie mille

A memorable holiday!
Casa Gaia proved to be a charming place for our summer holiday. My favorite daily event was to watch the sun rise over the mountains at 6:30 AM with the Vesuvius and Naples in plain view. Graziana was wonderful, not only she cooked extraordinary breakfasts and dinner, but she scheduled our visits to the Vesuvius, Pompeii etc. She advised us to walk to Sorrento (steep downhill for 40 minutes) and have Arturo bring us back. Arturo is a local taxi driver, English fluent and very reasonable in price.
One major recommendation; If you come by car, park it at Graziana’s Casa Gaia, and walk or use the services of Arturo. It is impossible to find parking at Sorrento or anywhere else. Besides, if you are not used to drive in Italy, you will no doubt end up in trouble.
If you wish to have a great Italian vacation, go to Casa Gaia, and let Graziana take care of you

Superb holiday for our family attending a wedding in Sorrento.
The villa was superb. We really appreciated the air conditioning in the bedrooms as the weather was sooo hot! Unfortunately due to the heat we didn't do all the trips we had in mind, we happily sat around the pool and had bbq's. We visited the bars in the small town up the hill and we did walk up and down to Sorrento a couple of times. The walk is interesting but you do have to be fit. We used the bus for the wedding into Sorrento only 1 euro 20 cents. The last bus was quarter to one in the morning and it stopped right outside the hotel my niece had her wedding. Make sure if you are getting a taxi from the airport that you negotiate a price first, or ask Graziana to organise one for you. Unfortunately we had trouble with our hire car as our plane was delayed and the car hire office was shut and we were charged 170 euros for a taxi. Mainly because the taxi driver got us lost. We will be back in the cooler months to do all the interesting sites. xx

Graziana's hospitality and special home are unsurpassed. We were a group of 10 musicians, teens and adults, and had a most memorable stay! We will never forget our beautiful stay and your beautiful baked goods to feed our vegans! Bruce was the icing on the cake! Thank you again!
