We had such a lovely stay. Family of 4 and a small dog. We enjoyed morning coffee on the deck and cozy fires in the evenings. The jacuzzi was clean and several beach towels at the ready. The beds were comfortable. Plenty of space to spread out. We enjoyed both pianos! We rated it a 5 stars. A few minor details to call out: 1) some people don’t pick up after their pets so watch your step when you walk out back. 2) the downstairs shower head is set at a position to spray out the door, close the curtain before turning on otherwise you’ll douse the bathroom floor 3) one of the stove knobs is broken. The off position doesn’t align with the other knobs, there’s a danger of slow gas leak.

When you walk in, there's a huge fireplace & a grand piano in the front room, it feels like coming home. Giant wrap around windows and deck show all the beauty surrounding it: large pines & peek-a-boo views of the mountains.

The cabin is very close to the town center, so that made it very convenient. It's about a mile walk into town, or a two minute drive.

There was ample space to move around comfortably with the six of us. The kitchen has everything you need. We did not use the oven, which looked like a throwback from the 1970s, but all the other appliances were new.

The decor & architecture is lovely and has a real cabin-in-the-woods feel about it. Some of the cabin components were dated, but that just added to the charm of the place.

The management office was very professional & they even sent me a text during our stay to see if we were enjoying our stay. The entire booking process was easy & I felt confident things were going to be great well before our arrival.

I would recommend bringing matches & kindling for a fire and avoid buying wood from this guy who was selling it from the back of his truck in the town center. We got ripped off... lol!

I also suggest that if you're going to order wood from the company that New Spirit recommends, that you give them a three day notice before your arrival. Nowhere was it stated in the information that we needed to give them notice, so on the day of our arrival and request for wood, they were unable to deliver. No big deal in light of everything else being great & you can purchase wood in town from reputable sellers.

Because this is a small town, there are limited restaurant choices. We were there during a three day weekend & it was impossible to find a place to eat that didn't have a two hour wait.

It needed to be aired out a lot and there was a lot of dust. Everything worked great and no issues, it was very hot in the cabin. Overall it was nice. I would recommend maybe having a bug guy come out for inside the cabin mainly for spiders as we got bite by one inside the cabin.

On the spur of the moment, my friend & I decided to head to the mountains for a weekend getaway. We checked several different options on VRBO & based upon the reviews & photos, we decided that Crestview. If you have any allergies to dust (like I do), then this not the place for you. The carpets were dirty & stained. There is no air conditioning in the home, which is normally not needed however, it was hot over the weekend. The fans were dusty & filthy. The downstairs shower stall head is too large for the size of the stall. Consequently, the water sprays outside the stall.

The home was beautiful and the location perfect. Unfortunately we came right in the middle of a heat wave and the house has no AC. Not the properties fault but definitely worth mentioning. We will be back but maybe when it is cooler. 😬

Kitchen is well equipped fresh coffee bean to grind every morning is a plus. Location was perfect, good for meditation and refocusing. The only down side was poor internet connection and we weren’t able to watch the “smart tv” but anyways that wasn’t really a big deal because our main purpose was to “rewired” due to our busy work responsibilities as healthcare providers.

When you get to the cabin it’s so beautiful the outside is so breathtakingly beautiful. However when you get inside it smells like cigarettes in this non-smoking home that I found cigarettes on the outside of. the pillows on the couch, the pillows on the bed, the blankets on the couch the sheets on the bed everything reeked of smoke and smelled like it hadn’t been washed in a while there were brown stains on the couch pillows (very thin could easliy be washed). There were couch pillows on the bed which also smelled like they hadn’t been washed in a while. we had to sleep on our clothes we couldn’t even find the laundry room. Downstairs there were spiders in my room alive ..not dead. in the bottom room there’s a door that leads directly to the garage which can’t be locked so we put a chair in front of it because it was very scary. The place looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned but of course we didn’t know until we wiped the dining room table with an alcohol pad, about 15 of them actually ..they all turned up black. where is my cleaning fee going you may ask.. I don’t know I have the same questions because it was all very much dirty the only thing that was clean was maybe the dishes good luck finding those by the way. Please be careful if you do stay here because you will slip on every rug. I don’t know what animal lives around this home but every time we woke up in the morning there was a really big pile of feces outside in the snow upstairs and downstairs around the back as well. Almost as big as human feces so I’m not sure who or what made the mess. The beds were hard as rocks so if you like firm dirty beds this is the place for you! We also lost power for 8 hours and hadn’t heard from the host after trying to reach out to the numbers that were left for us with no answer until we mentioned a refund and then someone immediately called us back. Imagine no heat in the snow for eight hours without an explanation or an apology or even a call back with kids might I add. Try the pizzeria & ice cream shop where u can get a vanilla dipped in chocolate w toffee crumbs in town it’s amazing bye.

It's a long story but suffice to say I will not use VRBO again. The original reservation was made with another company that was acquired by VRBO and the scripted VRBO process attempted to add fees for arbitrary post agreement conditions. Check-in was a nightmare. I don't wish to go through it again. Once in the cabin, the property manager left us alone and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Very nice cabin with wonderful views. Heating can use some updating, but it’s a great location.

The management were so helpful and the place was more than expected.

Loved being close to town. The deck is great to sit out and play games and relax. Some updates on the house would improve it (shower know came off, some electrical outlets need replacing). A mattress topper would improve the king size bed.

This property needs updating and maintenance ASAP. It is a wonderful space, great location and is very well equipped. But it is actually beginning to fall apart physically due to a lack of upgrading and TLC. Sad b cause otherwise it was great! 😪

The location of this house was perfect and the house had so much vintage charm and a beautiful view of the nearby mountains. The fact that it was the home of Dick Halligan was an amazing added bonus. However, it was definitely in need of some love and maintenance. The street numbers were broken and fallen so you have to feel your way to the correct address. The front door handle was broken so didn’t open the door latch (you need to use the key every time which we didn’t realize immediately and resulted in us getting locked out upon arrival). The bathrooms were functional but the downstairs sink leaked, one of the windows leaked following a short rainstorm, and the TVs advertised in the listing were really small (12 inches downstairs) and the cable didn’t work in the master or downstairs bedroom. Overall, we appreciated the opportunity to enjoy what was clearly a beloved family home.

We had an elderly person with poor vision and it made it difficult for sleeping arrangements. Also drive way was very steep and hard for getting in and out.

From the skylights above we could hear the rain and hunkered down with a couple good books from the owner’s library. We ate a pizza we bought from Fratello’s down in the village, and drifted off to sleep in the comfy bedroom upstairs. As we discovered, the downstairs has accommodations for 6 in two more bedrooms and full bath (the upstairs has a full bath as well). The skylit kitchen has every appliance and utensil imaginable, including brand new fridge and soundless dishwasher. The enormous wrap-around deck, partially under a large overhang, provided a great dog run when it was raining. The cabin is sited at the end of a private driveway, and angled for privacy. Hard to leave it a few days later, but we will be back!

If you are staying there and using the heat .. the downstairs gets really hot and the upstairs is chilly.. Close the downstairs vents for solution. The property management company is wonderful and caring. We needed a dvd cable and they came out on a Friday night and are very cheerful and professional. Location gets a 3 as it is a steep road and driveway and if you do not have a 4 wheel drive ice on the road can bea bit of a challenge. Overall a good experience, nicely laid out lots of room

The only issue I had was the late check in time and early check out time. We checked in at 4:30 and when we got to the home the cleaning ladies were stil there.. I know the holidays are busy but it felt unfair when we already had to check in later. If you know there are many places rented for the holidays, you should hire more cleaning people to get the job done. The check in and out times changed for the holidays felt petty especially since you charge so much more for the places during the holidays. Besides that, we really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very cute and homey and we loved the board games and fireplace. There was so much space for our family of 6 wish was really appreciated. The wraparound deck was also very scenic.
