This was our first time renting thru VRBO so i didn't know what to expect. I was more than happy with this tastefully decorated property and want to return on our next visit to the Island. Karen & Merv have thought of everything a person could need during their stay at the Hummingbird cottage. Great hosts!

A quiet property within minutes of amenities. We enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and well appointed. Many personal touches such as books to read or DVDs to watch.

We were having a great stay at this lovely property until there was a disturbing incident. On Thursday evening a man drove up in a pick-up, parked across the front of the driveway blocking both cars in, and stormed over to the house where my son and I were chatting near the car. He was clearly angry and without any introduction shouted to my son "What's going on?" We were just chatting, so my son asked him what he meant and again this angry man shouted "What is going on here?" I stepped in and asked what the problem was and again he shouted "What is going on here, why don't you just answer?" Realizing he was looking at our electric vehicle which was plugged into the regular 110V outlet. I explained that we have our car charging. He then told us that he was the owner of the house and why didn't we answer when asked what we were doing. It became clear that he had never seen an electric vehicle charging, so I explained and offered to show him how it worked but he refused to see it. He said that he did not know about this that there would be an extra charge and that we should have asked permission. So I offered to remove it and charge it elsewhere, but this man recognizing that nothing 'bad' was happening reiterated that we should have asked before plugging in a car and then left. He did not introduce himself or apologize. My wife and daughter were very upset at this interaction.

Karen’s place was perfect for our family! It was well stocked and close to everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the back patio added extra space and privacy. Karen was a great host. Very communicative and accommodating . We brought our bikes and biked to the beach each morning with our dog. Overall, a great experience. Thank you

Nice location close to the beach and amenities. Area has an indoor pool that is free to access. Great relaxing stay.

Hummingbird Cottage is a lovely little space that has everything you may need during your stay. Pride of ownership and desire to offer a clean, family and pet friendly space is apparent. Perfect surroundings. Walking distance to mini golf, restaurants and beaches. Short drive to town and local attractions. The rental was well maintained, clean and a perfect place to spend the week with the family. We will be coming back..

Good location, very clean, comfortable

Excellent cottage - close to amenities and centrally located allowing us to travel easily north and south on the island. Cottage owners had a very organized and handy binder that answers all your questions about your stay. Comfortable space - indoor and out and close to beautiful Rathtrevor beach (less than 5 min drive).

Everything went without any problems. Had a very nice, relaxing time.

Stayed several times before. Karyn is a great host Salt shakers and sugar dish empty Pepper shakers almost empty. Close proximity to beach. Would definitely return

This cottage was exactly as described and was the perfect place to connect with the family. Very comfortable, exceptionally clean and the jetted soaker tub was heaven. The kitchen had all the appliances and dishes we needed. We enjoyed the resort pool and fitness equipment and there were many trails to walk the dog.

This is our second stay at the Oceanside Resort in Hummingbird Cottage. Cottage, and facilities are great, friendly atmosphere with other cottagers. We highly recommend, the proximity to Rathtrevor Beach is wonderful. Donna

Hummingbird Cottage was a very comfortable home away from home for a month long stay on Vancouver Island. It is well furnished, decorated, and equipped. It was well situated to amenities, and a convenient base from which to explore regional attractions. Our host, Karen, was a pleasure to deal with!!

This home was a perfect place to stay while we explored Victoria Island. The beds are comfy, everything was spotless, and everything we needed was there! Communication with the host was super easy and convenient. Even when I managed to lock myself out immediately after checking in! Local beaches and activities are a short walk away. The area itself has everything you could possibly need. Thank you so much for providing such a lovely space and being wonderful hosts!

First of all, Karen was there for us we we needed her. The kids fell in love with the cottage. They dubbed it their own 'Holiday House'. It had everything we needed & more. Proximity to the ocean, parks, play parks & all amenities was the best!

The cottage was lovely and in a great location to Rathtrevor beach. We walked to the beach everyday. The cottage is nicely furnished and clean. Thank you!
