The property is ideal, with no neighbors except for a campground! It was easy to navigate to the lake to do early morning fishing and I spent my days capturing amazing photographs of hummingbirds, chipmunks and nature outside the property. We enjoyed the stars from the hot tub and boating at the lake. If you love nature but want the convenience of home away from home, it has the amenities needed!

This was our third year in a row that we have stayed in Connie and Brad's 100 year old cabin in Bayfield, Colorado at Vallecito Lake. This cabin is lake front and has an amazing sunset view. This cabin is at the head of a easy trail for biking, walking, running or just taking a stroll. The yard is beautiful, grass so soft and cool on you feet and our Chocolate lab loved it too. The cabin has every thing for cooking and grilling. New Blackstone type grill- best breakfast I ever made. Also, washer and dryer so you don't have to bring a rolling suitcase to the lake. The lake right now is full, beautiful and ready for fishing, boating or just sitting, watching and listening to the rhythm of the incoming waves. We stayed 6 nights and let me assure you that it will go by to fast, so book some time at the Cabin and reset your mind and soul.

My husband and I stayed at the property for 4 nights! We communicated with the owner before arrival. She was extremely responsive and we were actually able to check in a little early! Right when we arrived we started exploring the exterior/yard of the property which is phenomenal! Within a few hours of check in the owner texted to make sure we didn’t have any questions about the property! There was a quaint babbling fountain, yard swing overlooking the lake, a hot tub on the deck and plenty of tables and seating options around the entire property! Decorative lights wrapped the patio and were strung from the trees for lovely outdoor evenings! We cooked on the grill and ate dinner outside every single night! It was peaceful, quiet, and secluded with a beautiful view of the lake that was just outside the back yard gate! It cabin itself had everything we needed! The master bed is a sleep number which was very comfortable! The cabin is a great place to rest your head after a days activities of fishing and boating at the lake or golfing and shopping in Durango (about a 40 minute drive) and after spending the evening outside enjoying the yard! We will definitely be back!

The views and location are perfect for a weekend at the lake. It is also located right next to a easy trail that follows the lake. Staying at this property is Heaven - the beautiful surroundings … mountains, lake, blue sky, free-roam cattle, squirrels, and privacy are unmatchable. The fun activities never end . . . hiking, fishing, swimming, boating, and barbecuing. Rainy days are cozy indoors with the fireplace, games, and movies. The patios and hot tub offer inviting places to watch the stars in the night sky. The owners/hosts are wonderfully accommodating and friendly. This is one of our most favorite properties for a fun and relaxing vacation!

Very beautiful property and well cared for! We loved being so close to the lake where the fishing was great. It was nice to be on the quiet side of the lake without very many people or traffic. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much and would love to visit again!

We enjoyed our stay. The area is very beautiful. We went to a restaurant/bar in the other side of the lake on a Saturday evening for good food and a live band. Great atmosphere. The only negative was the lake being very low. Let’s all work on climate change. Connie was the perfect host.

Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our time at this little slice of paradise in the woods! You can tell they’ve put a lot of work into the outside of the property and the yard and hot tub were our favorite part! We were outside most of the time. The beds were very comfortable, and our kids loved the twinkly lights in the upstairs bedroom! Our girls also loved the kid-sized kayaks. We had so much fun kayaking alongside them in the lake. There was a small issue when we checked in, but Connie is very responsive and fixed the problem within minutes. We also loved the outdoor shower and the flashing light shower head inside - such a fun surprise! My only recommendations for improvement would be to provide beach towels for the property that people can use down at the lake or when getting out of the hot tub - otherwise, the only option is to use your shower towel. Also, a mat by the sliding door in the kitchen is really needed. We all slipped multiple times coming in from the hot tub on the tile floor, and this would be such an easy fix to prevent anyone from getting hurt. You can’t beat this private location with easy lake access and a trail right out the back door of the property. We would definitely stay here again!!!!

Location, location, location! This is truly a CO gem. It’s rare to find a place with access to a swimmable, clean lake that also has so many outdoor amenities and a big yard. We had a blast using the canoe and going fishing, and walking the trail right off the property. There is a campground right off the property but it was very quiet and we only saw a handful of people the whole weekend. This is definitely a smaller, more rustic lake cabin and the owners are very accurate in their description. Beds were extremely comfortable and we enjoyed everything this property had to offer and would 100% stay here again.

We greatly enjoyed being right on the lake! The property has a beautifully maintained outdoor area with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view. Lots of lake toys included with the rental and fishing was excellent during our stay. Also, can't beat sitting in the hot tub at night and enjoying the stars!

The most beautiful outdoor area along the lakeside! The patios, hot tub and beautiful lawn were the perfect addition to the beautiful view of the lake. The area was quiet with the prettiest walking path that runs alongside the lake. The cabin was old and rustic just as the listing states, but it was also in dire need of a deep clean indoors. The heavy use of air freshener to cover up the cabin odor was off putting. We didn’t spend much time indoors, so this wasn’t a deal breaker.

This was our second year at this property. Secluded, but near grocery stores and town for a little drive. Fishing is big. There is a marina that has boat rentals. Hot tub, and four TVs. Serenity in God's country.

We came here on our honeymoon and it was a perfect, relaxing getaway. There seemed to be nobody around for miles. There are a lot of hikes nearby including one that’s just right out the door - beautiful. Everywhere you go is beautiful. Mountains in the distance, fairly close to Durango.. we’ll definitely come back.

The cabin was cozy and comfortable. Our dogs loved exploring the large, well maintained yard. The adjacent campground was closed for the season, so it was incredibly quiet and private. It was a great escape from the busy city.

Not sure where to start? Fantastic Cabin all the way around. Super Clean, Gorgeous Landscape and Awesome Views of the Lake! Loved the Spa and Gas Fire Pit. Loved all the Chipmunks and Dear! Even had a BEAR come and visit. Brad and Connie are Super Helpful! Can't wait to come back!!
