This was our 2nd stay at the beautiful property and we will be back. So quiet and relaxing.

Great place to stay to relax and recharge.

We arrived well after dark, so it was lovely to arrive to a cottage with twinkle lights shining inside and soft music playing upstairs (although Hubby couldn't figure out how to turn it off because it's in a cupboard and he was too tired to look in the house binder). As others have said, the screened-in porch is magical, especially with the new swivel rockers and double chaise lounge. Watching the swallow family feed their chicks in the nest built in the eaves was the icing on the cake of this experience! The bed was very comfy, and all the high-touch surfaces were very clean. It was the other areas that seem like they haven't been cleaned in awhile, especially the bedroom carpet, which would benefit from more frequent shampooing. The a/c unit in the bedroom also gave off a tangy smell when turned on, so we were delighted when the humidity eased off and we could keep the windows open and use the new (and powerful!) table fan to keep air moving. I very much appreciated that fan! Even though the listing says "pets allowed," when I asked for clarification about where we should keep our cat's litter, I got the impression that "pets" meant dogs after reading Chris's response to my message. I had only even thought to ask about my cat after reading a review about small dogs. The screened-in porch turned out to be the perfect place to keep her litter, so it all worked out.

The place was really nice and really comfortable. So close to Pheonixville where we were hanging out for the weekend. We will be back next year.

Chris was super accommodating and such a friendly Host! His cottage and the entire property are absolutely beautiful-- so peaceful, relaxing-- such a welcoming and laid back place to spend a few quiet, restorative days! The cottage pictures, listing and the entire experience were even better in person than as shown on VRBO! Chris grew up on the historic property and has a wealth of historical information to share if you're interested in knowing more about the Chester Springs area. We LOVED THE SCREENED IN PORCH!! It was such an enjoyable stay-- we'd definitely stay with Chris again! Can only imagine how beautiful the property is blanketed with snow! Thanks for making us feel so welcome, Chris!

This is a lovely country setting. Remote from the hustle and bustle of traffic and shopping centers. I am from the area and was so happy to be able to go back and enjoy staying in a cottage rather than a hotel.

If you want to be out of town a little so you can enjoy walks in this beautiful area, I highly recommend this place. Just walking up some roads from the property, you will come up on nature paths and amazing views. The enclosed porch looks into a relaxing picture of green foliage, flowers, etc. A really peaceful place.

When reading that dogs were allowed but not on the furniture I drove from Maine to Pennsylvania to stay here with the hopes for extended stay over the winter with my dog but was disappointed when I read in the book at the cottage that all dogs were only allowed on the porch. Gorgeous cottage and beautiful location and area. It was a big disappointment regarding not being able to stay over the winter as hoped.

Quiet and restful.

Perfect getaway for two.

This was the most interesting vacation rental we've tried. Learning the history of the farm from the records available at the cottage--the before and after renovation photos, family information, and especially the excellent memoir by the owner's father--made this stay most special. Having grown up on a farm myself particularly helped me appreciate the impressive renovation and maintenance required for this very pretty place. Our dog also enjoyed the strolls along the pasture, creek, pond and woods--very nice indeed. Highly recommended!

This was just what we needed for our quick stop in the Chester Springs area to visit with our family. The property was beautiful and the cottage fully met our needs with everything from a comfy bed to wonderful enclosed porch with a great view to sit in the sun and enjoy coffee. We already have made plans to return.

lovely property. we came in at 9pm and it was really nice to come in with some lights already on and music playing and fresh flowers. very comfortable and welcoming.

Relaxing, rural retreat

Great stay and such a beautiful spot! Loved it.

Such a beautiful cottage on a quiet road settled on gorgeous grounds. Perfect for a couple. Cozy furniture from the sofas, bed, patio chairs and lounge. The cottage is extremely well kept and very clean. Our favorite time of the day was sitting on the patio having our coffee listening to nature. Kitchen is supplied with everything you need. I highly recommend this cottage and we'll certainly be returning. We did not want to leave :)

Such a cute and comfy cottage! I really enjoyed having some "me" time and this is the perfect place for it! I want to return for a longer visit someday soon!

This property provided us with the quiet solitude we were seeking in a beautiful setting. Our brief interactions with the few people we saw were pleasant and friendly, including the canine variety! For those who appreciate historic ambiance and are attracted to natural beauty, we highly recommend this location. In fact, we want to return for a longer stay ourselves! Full disclosure: There were some minor maintenance issues but nothing that hindered our enjoyment of the property.

This cottage was comfortable and the location was peaceful and quiet. There are 2 other residences on the property and 4-5 cars in the parking lot but I never saw another person during my 2 day stay. I loved being able to take my dog out into the back field and let her run.

Beautiful area, easy in / out

The house is cozy and well furnished. It's great for two people. The enclosed porch with a gas fireplace is a great place to enjoy the beautiful rural setting. It's very quiet.
