Comfortable studio, comfortable bed, quite enough space, gracious and responsive host

The host was great, very helpful and friendly. The use of beach chairs they had was very helpful. It is about a half mile walk down to the beach.

Wonderful visit that my wife and I will always remember fondly. Nancy, Rick and children were extremely helpful and by the end of our stay I would consider them friends. The place is perfectly situated between town and Kailua Beach. Walking distance if you want. Buzz's steakhouse is a must visit. One of the the most convenient things about the place is you have your own parking spot. The studio is well stocked with a full kitchen and for us the shower was a dream. Very comfortable bed, great TV and sound system. Nice patio in front to have your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. I could go on forever but I will end by saying if you are looking for a clean, quiet and perfect spot with great hosts who will respond to any questions and make your stay memorable you will not find better place.

We visited Kialua in Jan'.'22 for 6 weeks. Visited family, son and his wife. Great trip. lovely town . Beautiful area. great beach at Kailua. Ricky and Nancy are great and their sons too! villa was exactly what we excepted from pictures. Everything is a short walk. several very good carry out places close bye warm donuts in the morning from Donut King, dinner at Buzz 's steakhouse, visiting the marketplace for sandwiches .Kualou Ranch (zip lining) was great ... what an adventure! plyeda lo of golf , visited the entire island. saw 30' waves on the north shore ( rick's advise) thank Rick and Nancy for all you did... We will return in the future!

We had great experience, everything was nice and clean. Beautiful outdoor sitting area to enjoy coffee and feel you are in paradise. Close to the ( kite) beach and shopping center. Complete amenities, equal distance from town and beach. Nice property with 2 cabanas besides the main house. Everything you need for a great visit to Kailua and overall, economical! Very clean (not just Covid clean, but everything about the studio is very nice) and a complete kitchen, sitting area, bath and such along with great hosts. I'm guessing we will be back!

I hate to publicize what a hidden gem this is. Too many people find out, and I won’t be able to rebook. Well furnished, well supplied, bright and clean. Unpack your bag and start the vacation!

Spent 3 weeks here with our daughter, beautiful location 5 minutes to the beach and town centre. Hosts welcoming and always on hand if you have questions.

Rick and Nancy have established a very nice rental unit and did not compromise on quality as this would be a reflection of their own high standards. The only thing was when you click on VBRO for directions it say 150 meters from the beach and as it turns out that distance is not correct. This may not be an issue as it puts you an equal balance from town center and the beach but just to be aware. Rick and Nancy are very quick to fix any issues. Would book again to complete more hikes and exploring.

Rick and Nancy provide a wonderful experience at their Kailua vacation cottages - the location is beautiful (just a short walk to either the beach or downtown Kailua), the cottages are tastefully furnished (with a full kitchen!) for both the short or long visit, and the hosts themselves are friendly and helpful. Everything you could want for a quiet beach getaway is available at Rick and Nancy's cottages - I could not have found a better place to stay.

Nancy and Rick went above and beyond making our stay fantastic. The studio was very comfortable, and the full kitchen helped. There were buggy boards available for us to use, plus chairs. The walk to the beach is 2 minutes, which made life easier not having to find parking at the beach. Would highly recommend this studio for its location and the friendliness of the owners, Rick, and Nancy.

Nancy and Rick's place was very clean and well-stocked. The appliances are clean and new - including the shared high end washer-dryer. It was even more private than we anticipated - during our week there we barely noticed that other people were in the vicinity. The place is an easy walk (maybe equal to 3 east coast beach blocks) to the beach or to food and grocery in town. If you use their bikes, it is even easier. We made a few trips into Honolulu and around the island for hiking and we thought that this apartment was perfectly located for exploring. We used their beach chairs every day - Kailua beach is the best beach we've ever visited. We are city people and didn't really notice the traffic on Kailua Road - it is a slow speed road and is lightly traveled outside of beach times. I would recommend Nancy and Rick's place - and their advice about Oahu - to anyone without reservation. Thanks for offering such a comfortable and easy place to stay. I sure hope we see you again next year!

Rick and Nancy were gracious and accommodating hosts for my wife, my 9yo daughter and myself. The place exceeded all of our expectations. The fit and finish of the residence were superior to what the pictures might suggest. Yes, a seperate bedroom might have been nice, but I still feel that we were fortunate to have chosen this place. The location was a pleasant 8 minute walk to the most amazing beach. I don't recommend places easily but for this place I simply must.

Rick & Nancy are pros. They know Kailua town and have everything you need for a great stay. Their property is in a terrific location close to town and the beach; easily walkable to all the major attractions. Their unit was clean and comfortable, and check-in was a breeze. If you're looking for a hassle-free vacation in Kailua, then Rick & Nancy will take care of you. Hard to go wrong here. I'll be back!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nancy cottage. Super clean - has everything you need - from A/C, WIFI, beach towels, boogie boards, beach chairs, cooler, everything. Would most definitely go back.....so close to everything on Kailua (from the beach, to town, to the park, shopping). So convenient. Perfect for a couples getaway

Nice people, very clean, and great place to relax. Most of all, the location was perfect for us. It is in between the beaches and the shopping district. All within walking distance.

My 2 young teenage girls and I stayed at this wonderful, warm and cozy cottage. Both Nancy and Rick were so very nice and welcoming. Everything you can think of was available. Room was clean, bright and my girls really enjoyed the built-in ceiling sound system. Beach was close to walk to. Places to eat were real close that you can either walk or drive to. Just absolutely loved it! We didn't want to leave. If we ever go back to Kailua, we'd definitely stay here again. Highly recommend it. I'd give it more than 5 stars! We miss it there already!

My wife and I stayed in this fabulous bungalow a few blocks from our favorite Hawaiian beach. The place was easily accessible and had everything one would need. The owners were awesome and extremely flexible. I would definitely stay again.

The cottage indoors has every amenity one could need away from home and the quality was very high. Very clean warm and inviting. Might I add they have cycles, beach chairs and boogie boards to loan. This quaint cottage was a perfect stay for my family of 3. Son age 11. We found it to be the BEST location the Island had to offer. Reasoning, Far enough away from the touristy side of Honolulu feeling like we were on vacation to come home to after a days worth of fun. To the most beautiful beach of Kailua also calm to where you can feel like laying your head down and knowing your child is going to be alright and not swept away from undertow and forceful waves. (Not the case on many parts of the island.) We found it to be centrally located to everything the Island has to offer. Nancy and Rick both are wonderful and very welcoming hosts and are there to help assist and recommend whatever it is you may need. The cottage indoors has every amenity one could need away from home and they didn't skimp on quality. Very clean warm and inviting. Might I add they have beach chairs and boogie boards to loan. My son enjoyed the board so much we ended up buying one and bringing it home. This will be home away from home for us and look forward to coming back. We have and we will recommend this little gem by the sea~

Being greeted with a cold beer when you arrive sets the tone for me. The cottage is great, is in easy strolling distance to the beach and has everything you could need - everything.. Bath towels, beach towels, beach chairs, a barbeque, bicycles(!!) which were great for the quick ride to shops eateries etc. We had a really good time and would unreservedly recommend Rick and Nancy's cottage for anyone visiting Oahu.

We had a great stay here! The cottage was very new, clean and comfortable. The beach is about a block and a half down the street....and SO worth the jaunt! The ocean was GORGEOUS with a blue green hue and fine white sand. We would recommend this little gem to our friends.

Our cottage was very convenient to both Kailua town and the beach - both are within easy walking distance. My wife liked how bright the room is. We both liked the room being new and clean. Although the cottage is close to a fairly busy road, noise was not a problem

Excellent kitchen and bathroom. Bed was comfortable for us and futon was OK for my daughter. Very comfortable place to stay. Do have to mention busy road during the day and sketchy hot water system. Laundry room was nice to have. A clothesline would be nice for drying towels and swimsuits.

My daughter, mother and I recently returned from a weeks stay at this beautiful cottage. We loved the proximity to the gorgeous beaches and also to conveniences such as groceries stores, etc. The cottage was very cute and the furnishings beautiful but too small for 3 grown adults. It would be more suited for 2 adults and possibly 1-2 children. We enjoyed the use of the beach chairs, towels, boogie boards and especially the bikes. Parking was great and the cottage itself was easy to find. But we found the location, although convenient was incredibly noisy. The cottage is located on a very busy street and traffic is constant. We could close the windows, but then needed the use of the AC to be comfortable. The breezes kept the unit very comfortable without it. Traffic noise was our biggest complaint. But this side of the island is much preferable to stay on and we enjoy it much more than staying in Waikiki. The beaches are amazing and the layed-back lifestyle very enjoyable.
