There were a few teething problems which were quickly sorted by John. There was one safety issue which was picked up by a friend who used to be in the business. The top window facing the A5 urgently needs a safety catch as the window is a floor level and opens straight out into a 4 storey drop onto concrete. We did not have to open the window so it didn't bother us. The overall view of the cottage was very good. And will not hesitate to stay there again.

Smithy Cottage was a comfortable delight. It was spotlessly clean, well-equipped and a real pleasure. We most liked the large, open-space dining/living area that opened into the kitchen. It had great high ceilings, wonderful light and one wall facing out over the valley was entirely glazed. When it worked, the wifi was very good, too. Our only niggle was that the wifi tended to cut out, sometimes for long periods of time. Parking was easy, too.

Just loved staying at smithy cottage, had a great time, lots of space to relax, comfy bed, loads of places to visit nearby.

The cottage is in an excellent location, 5 minutes from restaurants and shops on foot, but away from the bustle of Betws. The parking is really good, the owners came and introduced themselves and checked we had everything we needed before leaving us in peace for the week. The only 9 we gave was because there is no dishwasher (I hate washing up on holiday) but everything else is there. As walkers we like lots of hot water for showers and the bath, this is really good in the cottage. We tried to book again for August it’s that nice, but it’s also popular so we will be back next year.

I need of a good clean. All the windows we're really dirty. Excellent wifi!

We have had many cottage holidays in the last 30 years and Smithy Cottage ranks among the top three that we have visited. Well furnished, very comfortable, excellent views in a wonderful area of North Wales
