Though the neighborhood isn't upscale this gem of a home is protected by private drive and lush vegetation giving lots of privacy for vehicles and yard. The house was amazing! Nice views and we loved that it had 5 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. The large living room with view, gigantic kitchen and game room basement with pool table and player piano were bonuses. Close to everything in Eureka and great home base for visiting the coast and Redwoods. We loved it!

Our family needed to be in Eureka for a memorial. With eight kids (ranging ages 16 to 6) and eight adults...this couldn't have been more perfect. The house easily accommodated us all and very comfortably. Loved the large kitchen....which had everything you could possibly want/need for cooking. The play room downstairs was a hit with all the kids. Also loved that they recycled! Mrs Schnell was always available by phone should a question arise. It was a short two day stay....would still have been perfect for a longer one.

We loved our stay! Having a bathroom in every room was awesome. The house was so clean!!! There is history all over the house and a beautiful view. It was nice for the whole family to spread out and have fun. We had people from age 2 all the way to 86. The oyster festival was only 20 minutes away and the beach was within 10 minutes!

The house was large and can handle many guests. The kitchen is well equipped with two stoves, two dishwashers and plenty of work space. The only problem we had was the height of the beds. One adult member of our party is hadicapped. The access into the house was fine as there is a ramp that leads to a back door. There was a bathroom that he could use that had grab bars. However, the beds on the ground floor are quite high and it made it difficult to get him in and out of bed.

The house was perfect for our large group! Communication was great and Ruth worked with us when we needed to change our dates. Wonderful stay and we hope to return.

Nice spacious house. House was cleaned before we arrived. many shops to buy grocery etc nearby. We had a nice vacation at the home. Kids and adults enjoyed the pool table in the basement. Thanks Ruth.

Never had such wonderful vacation house. Super clean, sweet, and nice house. big room for big families/friends' party. And all rooms have a private and big bathroom.

The house is wonderful, the pictures online don’t do it justice. All of the rooms are comfortable, the basement was perfect for the kids. Plenty of room to spread out, the kitchen is beautifully stocked, the five bedrooms on the upper two levels are spacious, each with an en-suite bathroom. Overall, this location worked out great for our family celebration.

Our criteria for selecting this property were: 1) location near redwoods, 2) living space, bathrooms and sleeping configuration for our 5 families.
Ruth was very easy to work with. She addressed a couple of issues with the property promptly.
The extra bathrooms made it easy to get off to the zoo and tidal pools each morning.
The presence of homeless folks in the neighborhood is mitigated by the security system and outdoor lighting.

This house and property were just beautiful. Fully equipped with everything you can possibly think of. The bridal shower was amazing and all the guests were very impressed with this house. We didn't want to leave. The host was very quick to respond to any questions or concerns.

Our whole family of 12, with kids and grandkids met in Eureka and stayed here for several days over Christmas. The pictures don’t do it justice, the property was fantastic, very large, roomy enough to spread out so early to bed folks weren’t bothered by the late partiers. The hosts were responsive and great, and the home had a lot of personal touches that made us feel right at home. 10/10 would stay here again.

I wish I could rate the 'accuracy of listing' as six stars. We wanted a big comfortable intresting house and it was as advertised. Epic views, so much space, 8 bedrooms, fascinating arcetecture. There are so many little spots to sit and relax, or gather in groups of any size. The pictures of the game room don't do the place justice, it's just awesome.
The hostess was super friendly and very chill, the property is beautiful, I just can't say enough positive things about this rental.
We will be back!

My husband and I hosted our four children and their families here. There were plenty of beds, bathrooms, shared spaces and private spaces for all of us. We especially enjoyed the kitchen and dining spaces because they were well-stocked and spacious. The weather was perfect. And, there were many activities nearby.

Great house for big family
The house was on a very secluded lot. It was the perfect choice for our adult family - plenty of bedrooms/baths. The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed the great sunsets on the balcony right off the kitchen. It is a nice central location for lots of nearby attractions. Ruth was quick to answer and resolve all issues that came up during our stay.

Secluded home in the middle of the town and heart of the Redwoods. Anything and everything you would want, or need is furnished. Fantastic communication with the owner. You will not be disappointed!
