There were a couple hiccups with check-in and the hottub went out while we were there BUT the local staff responded promptly even during a holiday weekend and we were compensated for our troubles. The home was exceptionally clean, the beds are comfy, and the location was great with easy beach and town access. Nice private backyard, and plenty of space of our family of 6!

This is a sweet little house with a very private back yard and lovely morning sun. A convenient walk to coffee and a little further to the Nye Beach area. It fit our family of 5 well - and I love the sunroom in the back!

We very much enjoyed our stay! Great location and accommodations. The only downside is that you have to walk through the bedroom to get to the 2nd bath and the 3rd bedroom. But other than that no complaints! We will definitely be back!

We loved the backyard and since the weather was perfect, we spent a lot of time there in the shade. We could see just enough of the ocean from the front room to know where we were and walked to the beach a few times. While I loved the retro vibe and look of this house, it did feel worn. The hot tub was hot and clean, but needs TLC on the jets. The house was good for the price. Nothing spectacular or horrible. Nice place to chill.

The house was very nice and very clean. We’ll stocked kitchen. The problem was it sits on top of a steep hill which made it it unwalkable to beach and town for us elderly folk. Nothing about that in description of the property.

This was our second stay at Jumping Scallops. Overall it was a good stay. The house is centrally located which is perfect for our needs. This time it was cleaner when we arrived which was appreciated . Only two negatives. While the hot tub is greatly appreciated it seemed like fewer jets were functioning this year as opposed to February 2023. Also we had planned to utilize the gas grill but there was no propane tank (in 2023 there was a propane tank). I can only assume it was stolen and that was disappointing. Overall we were still happy and plan to return.

Wonderful kitchen to work with, family friendly. Good appliances. Clean.house stays nice and warm. Fireplace was wonderful, clear instructions. Hot tub was clean and hot! A well working hot tub is rare at a rental Home.

It had everything we were looking for, it was close and convenient, hot tub was fun, towels were soft, bed were comfy, Chinese food up the street was AMAZING, quiet neighborhood, would stay again.

The very private and quiet location, the close proximity to the beach, and the easy access to restaurants, stores, etc. all made the stay more enjoyable. The house was fairly clean and most of the issues noted in our stay one year prior had been remedied.

Cute home! Great location, walking distance to Nye Beach and the Bayfront! It was great for 6 of us though the layout was a little strange, you have walk through one room to get to another. And the floor in front of back bathroom shower was a little warped and there was only one cast iron pan for cooking. Other than that it was great!

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was comfortable and loved the hot tub. Nice kitchen and like leaving with clean clothes. The only problem was finding the house. SW 5th Street is very confusing. We spent 40 min once we got to Newport locating the home. OVERALL WONDERFUL. Great restaurants and Nye Beach is great for walking.

Wonderful place to visit. Walking distance, even with young kids, to cool things in Newport. Short driving distances to many other Oregon Coast adventures. But the best part was cooking and eating around the impressive kitchen island and visiting with family. We would definitely return to the same property in the future.

My family of four stayed for a week while exploring the Oregon coast. The house is definitely more vintage than updated but was very well stocked and provided everything we needed for the week. The house is in a fantastic location, in walking distance to the beach, the bay and multiple local attractions. The beds were comfortable and the hot tub made for a relaxing way to end each day. I would absolutely stay here again.

Great location but a little challenging to locate.

We were visiting family. This house was wonderful. The kids loved having their own area, the hot tub was fantastic, and the location was excellent for the places we wanted to get to. We wish we could have stayed longer.

This was a great centralized location in Newport. It is VERY tricky to find. I was a little disappointed that the view was only partial and visiting in February it took a very long time for the heat to start warming up the space. Initially we thought it was really clean but after taking off our shoes we realized there was a bunch of sand on the floor. It was comfy and spacious. The Hot tub was great. Not so great were the dishwasher...which couldn't get a load clean after running it 3 times. I emailed the local property manager and never heard back from them. Also a negative was the amount of hot water. Very Very limited. Two super short showers in a row were barely okay. Don't run the dishwasher and expect to take a shower unless you like them COLD.

Three friends drove to the Oregon coast for 5 days and had a wonderful time in Newport. The town is wonderful and the house was very comfortable. Would do this again in a heart beat! Thank you!!

The location was very private and close to the beach and downtown Newport. The hot tub was great and the house itself was comfortable and well-equipped. The only significant downside turned out to be several things that did not function properly, including the coffee maker, the BBQ, and the gas fireplace. None of these items should be difficult to return to service with a minimal effort.

I have rented many home properties, from a few days to over a week stay and this home did not disappoint. The kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped and the house was very clean. The sunroom made it easy to have some people up front and some people hanging out in another full room. Ignore any bad reviews, I would rent this home again!

The hot tub was set to 70 degrees when we arrived and never warmed to an acceptable temperature during our stay. The house is cozy, clean and well provisioned. 10am checkout felt unreasonably early.

This home, a bit confusing to find because of the gravel road and hilltop, has beautiful views of the neighborhood and ocean. It is very cozy, has a lovely sunroom and comfortable beds. The yard is a nice addition too. The house, however, has a very outdated stove, it didn't come with any laundry detergent, like I've experienced in other Vacasa rentals, the bathtub in the main bathroom has loose handles and is hard to use, and the pot and pans selection is very limited. I would suggest bringing your own soap and cooking tools, if you plan on cooking a big meal. The hot tub also didn't work that well. It didn't stay hot for very long and the buttons for the jets only half worked. The location of the house is really nice though. A 3 minute walk down the street to the beach and super close to Nye beach access and shops. Although the beach access close to the house is via a staircase and the walk back up to the house might get your heart pumping. Overall, the house is cute, but could use some updates and attention.

This probably would have been a 5 star review had we only stayed one night. All was well and clean when we arrived. No complaints for the cleaning crew. They had lots of extra blankets, sheet sets, towels etc, which was nice. The kitchen was well stocked too. The first evening, I used the hot tub and noticed some sand at the bottom of the tub. I've used many hot tubs and never seen visible debris like that in there before, so it made me question the frequency of hot tub cleaning/maintenance at this home. On the second day, we used the dishwasher and noticed when putting in the detergent pod, there was already most of a chalky-pod stuck in there. Meaning, the previous dish load didn't get properly cleaned. Yuck. We hand washed dishes the rest of our stay. Not a big deal, but it still takes time. (I think this should be easily resolved if the managers replace the chalky packet pods with a liquid dish detergent.) We also did several of the puzzles in the living room, but they were missing about 10 pieces each. We reviewed the checkout instructions the night before we checked out - one was to have the towels washed and dried, so we got that started the night before. On the morning when we were getting ready to leave, the toilet overflowed. It was not clogged, there was something going on with the flusher where it just kept filling the bowl. We got it to stop filling, but then we had no towels to soak the floor! It was a mess. We finally figured it out, but it was not a fun way to spend our final minutes to say the least. I made a note of the phone number on the check out instructions to call & inform of the problems before writing a bad review. That number was the previous management company, not Vacasa. So I had to make two calls. The Vacasa person I spoke with was very kind and appreciative of the feedback and said she'd get in touch with the local management. I hope the local management is informed on and fix the above issues with this property before the next guests. It's a very cute home, gets beautiful sunset views, and is in a very convenient location. If we didn't have the above issues I would have given it 5 stars.

Great place for a visit to the coast. House was very nice and had everything you could need. Location was convenient. Easy walk to the beach and the town of Nye Beach.

Jumping Scallops was a perfect place to hang out between our 50th HS Reunion activities. We laughed and talked and reminisced. The space was ample, with enough areas to gather or to take a break if needed. It was very well maintained.

I loved the hot tub and the fact that it looked over the area. The back yard area was perfect for my 2 year. It was a much needed stay for my family.

We enjoyed the location. Walk to the beach, short drive to the bay & shops, lighthouse and devils punch bowl. & We enjoyed the spa & big open windows.

It fit our needs just right. We had a hard time finding it using google maps. If we would have followed the directions vacasa sent, we would have driven right to it. We could sit and have coffee watching waves from living room. We had misread that the hot tub had ocean view, it does not, but it is set in peaceful, private back yard.

We really enjoyed the house. Very charming with lots of room and a great play room for the 6 and 8 year olds. The problem we had was the washing machine didn’t work. It dumped water on the floor, so we had to mop it using towels. Then we couldn’t wash the towels or clothes. Overall, very enjoyable though. We would rent it again.

The house was warm and had large bedrooms and a large kitchen. The private backyard was beautiful. I would recommend this house to everyone.

My family enjoyed our stay in Newport at this cute and eclectic beach house. It is in easy walking distance to shops and restaurants in Nye Beach. It is also a short walk to the beach.
