Had a relaxing fall weekend in lovely Haliburton. Cottage was wonderful

Cottage country, in the fall. Perfect. This was a perfect property for myself and a friend to reconnect, cook food, go for walks, and a paddle in the beautiful quiet lake. I admit to packing more cold weather clothes than we actually needed, that's how fair the weather ended up. The cottage was well equiped for our days and nights together and I wish we had even more time - it was quiet, clean, had many more thoughtful amenities than any other I've experienced. We'll be back!

We really liked the location of the property - it's private and peaceful as described in the listing. Roz is super helpful and provides A LOT of detailed information! The place itself is simply furnished, but it's got everything you need for a get-away (we particularly liked the supplies in the pantry behind the kitchen). All in all, a great place to escape from it all!

Clean, Neat and Quiet cottage with all necessary supplies. The only recommendation is if there are two more canoes be much better for us as we have 3 couples (6 adults) but only one canoe

Nice cottage with great view of Deer Lake. Very comfortable, private, clean place without being to fancy. Very quiet lake with lovely water and south view. Could have a better area for hanging out if you had more that a few people but came with all you need for a good stay.

This was our second time staying at the cottage, and just like last year, we absolutely loved it. A year ago, we fell in love with the lake and the location of the place. It's super quiet, out of the way, almost no motorboats, and we would hardly see anyone for days! This is a perfect spot if you look for solitude, peace, and quiet. The cottage is super comfortable and very well equipped, so you can find everything you need. And Roz is absolutely amazing, and a wonderful host. We highly recommend it, and we hope to return!

Great location on a quiet lake with loons. Enjoyed the use of the canoe and kayak. Also enjoyed diving off the raft. Good hiking in the area. Some of our party did the trail rides at South Algonquin. While it rained quite q bit our wee there, we still had three nights where the stars were out in abundance. Also at least two hummingbirds were using the feeder. Very confortable cottage. Would go back again.

Housecleaner was banging on the door at 1035am, and started circling the property prior to check out time. Then stared at us from her truck. Concocted a story that we had 9 guests, which is a complete fabrication. There was one adult, 4 kids (10.5-16.5yrs old). Charged us extra fees for routine cleaning that were not laid out in the manual. Cleaning BBQ grill, window fingerprints (we just opened and closed windows as a normal adult does) as well as single cheerio that got missed. Also charged me for laundry- please note that they do not wash all bed linens between guests, as stated by the owner in an email. We have worries about bedbugs now. Charged for rinsing out trash cans. The house was vacuumed by us, as well as swept. Beds were made. Towels hung up. Dishes done. Trash removed. Counters wiped off. Stove clean. House was tidy, which is stated by the owner in an email. But is charging for damage/excessive cleaning for bbq grill, and fingerprints. She states in an email that she told the cleaner to ask me for cleaning money, which I have no communication about, as well as no need. House was tidy and clean. Owner states pest problems AFTER we arrive. Tells me that it is imperative to put all food in plastic bins. (Have this in an email from her). We found mouse excrement, dirt and dead bugs on top of the fridge, beside the stove in the kitchen. Spider nests in the bathroom and a bedroom. House is very damp. I’d recommend bringing your own beach towels. Location great. View is fabulous. But be aware that the owner and cleaner will ding you for extra charges for routine cleaning after you leave as a money grab. There was no damage. There was no excessive cleaning required. I am a front line hospital worker with 100% positive travel around the world, and never experienced this kind of trouble from an owner or cleaner.
