Overall the Wharf House is awesome. The property is gorgeous right on the water and with a private beach, deck and peer. There is lush gardens and nice pool. While there we got massages with (Karen and another woman) we loved them!!! Pinky and the crew made a lovely meal and took care of us following covid restriction while making us feel comfortable. My only negative was due to the cloudy, humidity and rain during the time we were in Jamaica the bedding was somewhat damp. When it was really cool in the room it was not too comfortable in the bed. Other than that (Im sure it was due to the previous wet weather) I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!!!

We had an amazing 5 days at the Wharf House with our family. The house was spacious and beautiful, the gardens lovely and the waterfront was perfect for our early morning paddle board rides. Stefan was a wonderful host and attended to our every need, and the staff were fun and made us feel very welcome. The food was exactly what we were looking for and Ms Pinky's poached eggs were out of this world!! We would not hesitate to return.

What a truly wonderful experience! The Wharf House is a magical serene spot. This quietly elegant home boasts beautiful and comfortable interiors. Vintage and authentic, feels like Ralph Lauren with a touch of John Robshaw. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome, cared for, loved and safe. The staff's attention to detail from the delicious morning coffee; Miss Pinkey's heartfelt delicious food, the cleanliness of the house and the care of the grounds were so noticed and appreciated. Finally, Nikki and Stephan are gracious hosts and were so helpful with arrangements for a delightful driver and suggestions for fun Jamaican adventures. We just returned from a week long stay at the Wharf House. It was a magical time. The kids and adults played on the kayak and paddle board out on the bay every morning. The nature was so gorgeous from the beautiful sunrises and sunsets, to the starfish and other creatures around the cove. We loved being able to play on the beach one minute and swim in the pool another. The kids also enjoyed hours of ping pong in the evenings. The furnishings were old colonial and beautiful. The beds were so comfortable. The accommodations were perfect. And last but certainly not least was the awesome staff at the Wharf House. Nicky and Stephan touched base with us prior to coming to help answer all our questions. The cook, Pinky, had delicious salt fish fritters waiting for us when we arrived and the food the trip was wonderful. She worked with on a delicious menu. Britannia and Elisha were so sweet and helpful. Every night they turned down beds and everyday they helped me pick up after my messy teens. Leroy was a great friend to my boys and helped them the kayak and outdoor items. And Russell also kept a close watch on the estate in the evenings. Stephan stopped by and graced us with his fun company as he checked on our stay, took our grocery and bar orders, and helped us to arrange some of our many excursions. Verol the driver made us feel very safe and recommended great places to go. Mayfield Falls is a must!! The owners and staff all felt like family after our stay. The Wharf House was magical. So much so that our eldest son proprosed to his future wife on the deck over the water. As soon as Stephan heard about the proposal, he showed up with a couple bottles of bubbly for us to celebrate with. We all made life time memories and hope to go back soon!!! Nathan and Sierra

Words and pictures cannot capture the beauty of this place. Waking up to amazing sea views, enjoying a bountiful breakfast on our expansive dock, kayaking on the peaceful bay, exploring the expansive property, the list goes on and on. The hosts and staff could not have been more welcoming and attentive. Pinky's food was delicious. Verol, the driver, was easy to work with and always ready to haul our 9-person crew. There is only one way for us to visit Jamaica now, and this is it. We are totally spoiled.

Words can't begin to describe what a wonderful place the Wharf House is. The waterfront location offers stunning views of MB in the day as well as the night. The grounds are extremely well maintained by a most friendly staff and if you choose to,and you should, hire their cook Miss Pinky, you will not be dissapointed. The owners Stefan and Nikki were very welcoming to our family and took great care to make sure we had a wonderful time in Jamaica. We played many games of ping pong, utilized their two SUP's and double kayak to venture out to the nearby reef for some great snorkeling. We visited Negril, the luminous lagoon, a dog sanctuary, went ziplining as well as toured Appleton Estates but the best part of our day was coming back to the wharf house for wonderful family time, lots of reading and card playing and great Jamaican cooking. We miss it already! Thank You Stefan and Nikki for sharing your very special place with us.

We are two families who visited over Thanksgiving week.... children ages 10, 14, 15 and 17. The set up of the Wharf House was perfect. It was convenient to the Montego Bay airport, but not in the middle of everything. It is a truly beautiful property, from the decor of the rooms to the views over the water. We enjoyed the two paddles boards and one two-man kayak provided. Snorkeling gear is also provided. There was a beautiful spotted eagle ray that visited us every night. Ping pong and croquet were a bonus that we all enjoyed. The staff was friendly and helpful. We hired Miss Pinky to cook our meals which I would definitely do again. Wharf House also recommended two drivers who were very reliable. We took a day trip to Negril and also visited a dog sanctuary, recommended by the owners of Wharf House. We felt very safe in this area and due to the isolation of the property, there is no foot traffic to worry about. Yes, we would love to visit the Wharf House again.

Our visit to The Wharf House was absolute perfection! The property is stunning and the staff was welcoming, warm, helpful and just fantastic. Pinky's cooking is not to miss! Her food embodied the soul of the island and it's people. Everything was delicious and her salad dressing should be bottled! Elisha & Leroy were helpful and attentive every day. The attention to detail in everything was above & beyond our expectations. It is the ideal place to visit when you want to relax and get away from your everyday life, you may never want to leave as we all did! Thank you Nicky & Stefan for an unforgettable amazing weekend!! I love this villa and the beauty, elegance, peacefulness and relaxation that it brings to our Jamaican vacations. This was our second visit and it actually exceeded my amazing memories of our first stay two years ago. Stefan and Nicky are the warmest hosts and really seem to take pride in making our time at the villa as wonderful as it can be. The location is unbeatable, the bay is lovely, the property is gorgeous and the staff makes it perfect with their friendly service. I honestly think I will never rent another place in Jamaica. On this trip, in addition to my own family, I brought along my mom and my sister and 2-year old nephew and they loved the place as much as I do. There is something for everyone - beach, dock, pool, quiet places to read or nap, snorkling, paddleboards, sunshine, music, great food! I can't wait to come back, which hopefully will be very soon!!

We are a family with three generations who regularly travel together. In the last three years, we've been to Vietnam, Mexico, Italy, and England. We always pick villas, apartments and home stays, rather than hotels. I picked Wharf House based on the photos and strong reviews. We had a wonderful stay many years ago at a very fancy Villa on Jamaica's Discovery Bay; Wharf House was, overall, much more enjoyable, and at roughy half the price. For this trip, we were 10 people -- my wife and I, my daughter and son-in-law, grandchildren aged 16, 8, 7, and 5, plus an au pair and an older friend of my wife's and mine.. Wharf House was a perfect venue for a week's stay in Jamaica. We booked the entire premises, including both main house bedrooms, the two cottages, and a bedroom for our 16-year-old grandson in an additional cottage on the premises that isn't listed on the website. We did very little for the whole week other than enjoy each other on the expansive deck, al fresco dining, and the spacious pool. We were admirably cared for by Stefan and his staff, including Miss Pinky, Elisha, and LeRoy. We planned all meals with Miss Pinky, went out shopping for groceries on our own and with Stefan, and had the fun of dinners with Miss Pinky's oxtail stew, jerk pork, chicken stew, and barbecued ribs, all accompanied by great vegetables and green salad. The photos on the website capture Wharf House's amenities perfectly, but can't convey the spirit of the place and the enthusiasm and dedication of the staff. It's the combination that can't be beaten. Our young grandchildren cried when they said goodbye to the staff. Nothing more need be said, except that we'll come back -- ideally the next time with our son, daughter-in-law, and other three grandchildren as well.

If you are considering a stay at The Wharf House, I'd like to highly recommend it. We stayed for a few days before sailing from Montego Bay on a cruise to Cuba, and we all agreed that our time at this lovely home was a high point of our trip. I've had the opportunity to travel to many places in the world through my career, and this historic home with it's beautiful sea view, majestic trees and lush gardens, and friendly and interesting owners and staff is a favorite. We arrived hungry after flying all day from San Francisco, and Pinky served us a light supper of chicken sandwiches, salad, and ice cold Red Stripe beers. We ate on the dock with twinkling lights and beautiful stars overhead, and the sound of the water lapping on the shore. We immediately felt very welcome and very much at home. The home and cottages are lovely, with comfortable beds and furniture, and lots of places to congregate if you're there with friends or family. I'd recommend having Pinky arrange meals for your stay...they were fabulous and very affordable. Stefan and Nicky were so kind to us, and a wonderful source of information about Cuba, since they had traveled there many times. We now consider them friends, although we just met them on this trip. This is a wonderful place to stay, and my friends and I all loved it and hope to return. I think you'll love it too.

We recently completed an all too brief, but full, stay at the Wharf House with our best friends at the tail end of our Jamaican vacation. We typically stay at resorts, but were drawn to the 'Old World Charm' of the Wharf House and wanted to try something different. From start to finish, it was a fabulous experience! We were greeted by warm smiles and handshakes and cold beverages. After a tour of the property, we settled in on the wharf and pretty much stayed there the entire time. The aquatic life is diverse and fun to watch both in and out of the water. The unobstructed view of the ocean and Montego Bay are just mesmerizing both during the day and night. Add to that the soft ocean breezes and the soft scent of Jamaica, it just fills you up until you feel like you will almost burst from the beauty of it all. And then there was the food! Sorry Sandals, but you have nothing on Pinky's salt fish fritters...hands down one of the best bites I had on this Jamaican vacation, with the locally made pepper jelly - sooo good. Even a beautiful snack tray that Nicky put together of dips, cheese, and other tasty nibbles was so elegant, again, another black mark for Sandals...Stefan warned that a stay here will change how you want to vacation, and I couldn't agree more. I have never felt more welcome and cared for than at the Wharf House. Such an amazing degree of thoughtfulness was put into our brief stay that I am almost speechless. The next time we visit Jamaica, I hope there are rooms available (the house itself is just beautiful - the wood doors with the key in the lock...) because our next stay will be much longer! Thank you Nicky and Stefan for opening your home to the world. I feel quite blessed to have stayed there.

For our family reunion it was the perfect setting. We had the needed privacy in our cottages and rooms, but at the same time there were the ideal communal spaces where we gathered. We had all our meals on the amazing deck but we also played games inside in the cozy living room. The kayaks and the beach were well-used during our stay. Each room is beautifully decorated with local art and everything is well-maintained. I see that other reviewers have mentioned the warm welcome by the staff and by Stefan and Nicole.. I can only second and third that. Stefan checked in with us regularly to see if everything was fine and he gave us excellent advice and help and he was willing to answer all our questions about Jamaica. Pinky the cook made the best Jamaican meals we had and she is a warm-hearted person on top of that. Elisha and Leroy were kind and generous. We also had the services of Verol, a licensed driver, to take us to the Blue Mountains and back and around Mobay. I can recommend him highly. The serenity and charm of this house will long be remembered by everyone in our family. Don't hesitate, book the Wharf House.

There is no way to put into words the amount of magic and transformation that I experienced from my stay at The Wharf House. From the moment we entered the driveway and then drove through the gate the magic had begun. My dreams were vivid and intense and I was shown a connection to the Island and the people that I would have never thought could be true. The last day of my visit I walked out on the doc and raised my hands to nature to the sky, the ocean the mountains and the trees and I truthfully have no idea how I will ever put that moment into words. I fell in love with the Wharf house during my 6 day stay in January 2017. I was immediately captivated by the beauty, comfort, cleanliness and the Old World charm of this place. I felt completely at home here, and both the owners, and their amazing, gracious staff did so much to be sure that I was well fed, and had everything that I needed. The food was delicious, and the beds are so comfortable. The natural beauty and energy of this paradise is what really captivated me most, with all sorts of plants, trees, and birds - and the elemental forces of nature - the wind, the air, the water, the sun, and the earth all seem to welcome your and comfort you. Sunrise, sunsets, and mid day on or overlooking the water can be so magical - we saw many many rainbows It is so easy to find a quiet meditative spot in stillness for reflection and or reading, and just as easy to find a spot that motivates you to move and dance. I so look forward to my next visit to this piece of paradise. Thank you Nicky, Stefan and you entire staff!

I stayed at the Wharf House in Reading, Jamaica from 1/9/17 to 1/13/17 for a Shamanic Priestess training. Weeks before arrival we were contacted by Nicola De Lisser to inquire about travel arrangements and food allergies to arrange meal plans. As I have certain food allergies I found this to be incredibly helpful and very perceptive on her part. Most accommodating to say the least. I stayed in the Garden Room which was lovely. There was plenty of drawer and closet space to take clothes out of suitcase and live relaxed like this was really my home....which Nicola told us all it was to be for the next five days and to make ourselves at home...she and her staff makes it very easy for you to do this here. Ahh yes the staff...I wish I had each and every name to mention here because they are just AMAZZZING!!!!! But I will just say with there was fresh hot and cold water in our room everyday....along with hot chocolate, hot teas, coffee/cream/sugar. The windows in the rooms opened up wide and let in the fresh Jamaica air which was done every morning when the beds were made up....followed by being closed in the early evening with turn down service. This said a lot for me and did not go unnoticed which is why I must mention it here. Such a beautiful property with powerful energy and the staff makes it a point to ensure that it all gets to you. The food....OMGoodness....where do I start. Miss Pinky is a profound chef of a high caliber who has certainly found her calling in life. Her sweet love and passion is in every dish. I learned a while back that truly great food comes from the heart, blends with the recipe and it's quality ingredients. I can promise you it is in every single dish you will have here from Breakfast to Dinner to Dessert. There is something for everyone and many many Jamaican specialties to try that you probably have never heard of unless you have traveled to this island before or are a Native. Let's just say, the food is reason enough to stay here because I'm pretty sure they aren't open to the public as a restaurant so if you don't stay you are missing out to visit this area of Jamaica and not eat Miss Pinky's cooking. I found the amenities to be absolutely fabulous...the linens were of the highest quality...towels were super thick and soft...the grounds were immaculate and fragrant of Jamaica....the furnishings in the Main house were personal and delightful.... I felt like I was back at my Grandmothers home....

My total experience at the warf house was pure extascy. I was there for a 5 day shaman priestess training retreat. A perfect place to indulge the 6 senses and more. The beauty of Jamaica with its sunrises and sunsets over the Montego Bay. The native plants,and trees on the proerty pure pure bliss. The warf house and the surrounding property has an energy anout it. The history alone brings forth the energy of peacefulness and love. The sense of family felt there as well. The staff was loving took great care of us. The food was absolutely amazing. From traditional Jamacian cuisine to very healthy dishes to meet the needs of everyones diets. The rainbows so many rainbows.I can not wait to return.

This house is even more gorgeous than the pictures. Everything is clean and well-maintained, there is internet in every room, and there are multiple sitting areas with a view of the ocean. Every amenity is provided, and there's a full staff on the property that cooks, cleans, and provides a turndown service at night. The owner is very kind and helpful. He's available at any time for any requests you may have, and he will also recommend activities you might want to do in Montego Bay. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting the area. We felt very comfortable and welcomed the entirety of our stay. Great hospitality, great host, great house all perfect

Firstly, Miss Pinky, the chef who made breakfast during our stay, hands down, makes THE best saltfish fritters we've ever had! Pair the delicious meal with the breathtaking view of the Caribbean Sea and there's no better way to start your day. If you're looking for a spot to completely decompress and relax, with your own private beach, this is it. The hosts allow for as much or as little interaction as you'd like. Though only breakfast is offered for the day, there are plenty of food options close by car. This spot will definitely become a staple in our lives. Thanks for a lovely stay Nicki and Stefan!

I would recommend the amazing villa to anyone looking to relax, have fun and eat some great food. It was just the perfect location to celebrate with friends and family! Beautiful property....gracious hosts We spent a week, and had an absolutely wonderful time. The house comes fully staffed, including an excellent cook, Pat. Comfortable, directly on the water over looking Mo bay. The house is set up for privacy. Two bedrooms in the main house and two cottages. Perfect for a large family with older children, or Adult couples. 15 min from airport Highly recommended.
