Phenomenal locaton, bonus having our own dock. Great child and dog safe porch. Shower was fine (hot water & sufficient pressure) .... Would rent here again in a minute.

Everything we needed for the perfect lake George vacation, very clean , well equipped, cozy , great view , perfect dock for two boats

We all enjoyed our time at Silver Bay however we were there during the heat wave and there was very little relief. We did leave a day earlier because the rain kept us from doing anything.

Silver Bay is a spectacular property

The location was great- very quiet. It was wonderful to swim in the lake and kayak! The view from the deck was amazing, and nice to be able to enjoy it rain or shine.

This is an incredible house/property with a most exquisite view of Lake George, a gift of a covered porch, clean and comfortable!!

Geoff was great to rent from. Everything you need was there. Porch was great for sunsets and Adirondack storms.

Fernwood checked all the boxes for our family. Private, insanely gorgeous view, cozy cabin, fishing from the dock, kayaking, boat rental right down the road, YMCA day passes available, and on and on. There is not one thing I would want changed. The Geils Family have such rich history with Fernwood, and we are so thankful to have had the opportunity to rent it for a week! Truly a special place.

Our multi-generation family and small dog stayed at Fernwood for a wonderful week in early August. The location is good, close to the lake and private, with a great swimming area (sandy bottom) and easy docking for a 22 ft boat. There is a floating dock about 100 ft from shore that you can swim to. The lake gulls also enjoy using the float and entertained us with their antics all week long An easy path with well spaced steps lead to the lawn and dock area. The outdoor fireplace, seating area and hammock are mid way down.on the lawn. 2 kayaks and a canoe near the lake are easy to launch from their cradle and fun to use.. The house is laid out well and easily accommodates a family for all activities and large enough to offer privacy if you want to be alone. The kitchen is well appointed and it's easy to prepare meals. Everything you need is there. I was happy to find a number of sharp knives, which is rare in many home rentals. Best of all, you can fill the dishwasher and still have enough dishes for a meal. The front porch with 6 rocking chairs faces the lake and offers lake gazing at its best. We had breakfast there every morning, watching the boat traffic and planning our day. We are looking forward to another stay..

Loved staying at Fernwood. Exactly what I would want staying right on Lake George. Perfect fit for our family.

Great place to have the all the kids come into from out of town for a family get together. The view from the deck was amazing and this end of the lake is much more peaceful than the South end. Plenty of space for a large family inside and outside. Everyone said they wanted to come back again next year.

My family of 4 + 2 friends had a wonderful time at Fernwood. Beautiful inside and out. Very warm and inviting. The weather was tremendous. Thank you again Geoff for allowing us to enjoy your family home.

The Geils family welcome you into their home...rustic, comfortable, relaxed and just about perfect! The house is a home with just the right creature comforts and amenities...the location and view on the shores of magnificent Lake George, well, simply fabulous. We've come up with 6, and this year a late addition had us at 8. This "cabin turned home" handled all 8 without a whimper. Such an awesome stay, and we hope to enjoy it for years to come!

We could have stayed for two weeks, we had such a great time. Fernwood was a great fit for our two families (4 adults, 4 teens, 1 canine). You couldn't get any closer to the lake than this house without being IN the lake. Silver Bay is in the Northwest corner of Lake George, decently quiet, not a ton of traffic on the lake, but close to stores and restaurants in Hague and Ticonderoga. When we weren't in the lake we spent most of our time on the huge porch overlooking the lake. The bedrooms were fine, decently comfortable, a little dated (mothballs in the closets). The kitchen was spacious and well-equipped (could use a few sharp knives) even with a big plug-in skillet for pancakes. We highly recommend visiting Lake George and staying at Fernwood!
