First, let me say that this is not a fancy place, but it is wonderful!! The house was immaculately clean, the kitchen was well stocked with all that you need, and the whole place was homey and comfortable.
The view of the tides going in and out every day was amazing. We sat on the deck for hours watching the water and the wildlife. It was so lovely and peaceful.
There's much to do from exploring the town 8 minutes away, to eating the freshest lobster ever, and sunset sailing on a schooner. Don't miss Acadia National Park! It's beyond worth the 2.5 hour drive!
Owner was helpful and nice. We would DEFINITELY stay here again, highly recommend!!

My mom & I had a great mother/daughter weekend. Weather was spectacular, the view from the house was lovely as was the surrounding area (very quiet & peaceful). We enjoyed trips to the harbor for dinner and made it to opening day of the Maine Tasting Center - so fun!. The only con of the house would be that it lacked bedroom shades. We were both awoken at 4:45am each morning to the bright sunlight which was rough.

The house was perfect, it had everything we needed. Every appliance, dish, kitchen gadget you could need. Great showers, plenty of hot water with great water pressure and heat (yes, we used the heat :-)) Cozy living room with plenty of seating and views to the water on the deck though big sliding doors, just lovely. Communication with Lisa was excellent. Location was peaceful, quiet and 3 min from Boothbay Harbor.. Back deck overlooking was water was our favorite spot. Would definitely stay here again. Lisa was wonderful to work with and the reservation and check in process was stress free. The online description and photos are accurate. We really liked the layout of the home and the views were beautiful. Large sliding glass doors in the living room and two of the bedrooms take full advantage of that view and are one of the home's best assets. The only suggestion we have for the home is perhaps an air purifier for the game room downstairs to eliminate the musty odor (although our kids did not seem to mind). The kitchen has a brand new ceramic top stove and what looks like a newer fridge and microwave. The dishwasher has a sanitary-cycle option that we used. There is a park just a few minutes walk away that has a footbridge out to a small island that is perfect for walking the dog or just taking in the scenery. Boothbay Harbor is only a few minutes away and has many shops and restaurants. We recommend Mama D's for breakfast and the Footbridge Brewery for craft beers and a fun atmosphere. If you don't mind driving an hour to Owls Head, there is an impressive Transportation Museum with antique cars, motorcycles and aircraft.

We really appreciated being able to stay at this house. The location is beautiful, right on the water. The beds were comfortable and the layout was very nice for our group.
Unfortunately the house smelled extremely musty, it was coming from the basement so we didn't go down there. It's a split level though so the smell was throughout the house. You're also asked to wash, dry, and fold the sheets and towels. I wouldn't mind starting a load of laundry but this was stressful as we were trying to leave with a toddler. I'd recommend a little more involvement by the host in the house's maintenance and cleaning.

Excellent location loved the house waking up to the back river view is beautiful very close to walks downtown Boothbay harbor which is beautiful lovely owner too rent from has a lovely personal touch, will definitely be in touch with again with luck that she has an availability when I would like to go

Very pleasant and homey, located close to the tidal river with a nice open deck overlooking the water. Super close to the botanical gardens. Plenty of seating indoors and out. Master bed was a very comfy queen. Bed in other rooms were twins. Great views of the water from most rooms. Kitchen was rustic but clean and conveniently stocked with condiments etc. The house was in a little cul de sac just off the road but well insulated and quiet. The owner was helpful and gave us information before our stay to help us plan our trip. We highly recommend porter preserve for exploring along the water and getting a real feel for the coast. Beautiful location. We had a nice relaxing vacation. If you are looking for a nice relaxing vacation, this is the place. Lisa was very accommodating. We arrived early and she let us check in. Close to downtown, grocery store, and restaurants. Would definitely recommend. We are planning our trip for next year.

We had a great time staying at the property, and the location is absolutely perfect! There were a few hiccups in terms of cleanliness (stained sheets, some dead bugs on the quilts) and some amenities (burner on the stove not working, trouble with the toilet in the primary bedroom having a very weak flush), but overall the stay was great. Check in process and communication with the owner were easy! Important to note that guests need to wash and dry sheets and towels before leaving and take trash to the dump. It wasn’t an issue for our short stay, but would be a headache if you were trying to get on the road early to beat traffic or if you had a big group.

We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the birds and lobster fisherman. We found the lobster pot and got lobsters at the pound right up the street! We were close to two amazing hiking parks and a small beach. Bed was super comfortable. Great place to relax.

The house sets close to the river with a large deck facing the river. Nice to set on the deck and have morning coffee.Very quiet you hear a lobster boat on the river but hardly no car traffic.Close to the harbor only a few minutes
away,good grocery store near by and lots of local food

We had a good stay. The ping pong table was great entertainment. The kitchen was good with all the equipment you would need. Two out of 4 burners worked on the stove so cooking takes planning.
The view is of the bay and rocks. It is nice to see the tide move in and out.

This home was just what our group needed & wanted. The 3 bedrooms were comfortable, with freshly washed & folded linens. The oversized furniture in the spacious living room was an added bonus for relaxing conversation & snacks after a day of hiking & exploring. The view from the deck, whether eating at the picnic table or lounging in the deck chairs, was delightful at all hours of the day. Kitchen was well stocked & large dining room table was convenient for hosting meals as well as group games. As I said this location was very convenient to the Maine Botanical Gardens, a large grocery store, Boothbay Harbor boat trips & lobster pounds. Totally enjoyable!!

Lisa is a great person to deal with.she is always willing to work through complications that may arrive when people travel. Her home has all supplies for a comfortable stay and the view is amazing. We have vacationed there 4 times, would have done so more if the pandemic had not occurred and would like to return next year.

We loved the property that was on the water . It had a spacious yard which was perfect for catching a frisbee . We loved the back porch and eat meals out there often . My teens loved the ping pong table down in the basement. This home was very spacious and had two bathrooms. I was able to bake cookies as the kitchen had everything that was needed . Each room had fans which was great on hot nights although the cool breezes from the water kept us cool at nights. The washer and dryer was great to have as well. This home had everything that you could possibly need . There was only one item that may turn potential renters off to this place and that is the white rug . It has several bad stains on it that resembled pet stains . They were all over the rug . This is why I gave only 3 stars on the cleanliness. However , the other areas - kitchen , bathrooms , bedrooms were clean . I would stay here again but really feel that the rug needs to be addressed.

Great location
We were in Boothbay for a wedding. The house was convenient for all the weekend wedding activities. The owner kept in touch with me before the trip. The house was on the water and it was nice sitting on the deck watching boats, kayakers and birds. The house was clean. The kitchen had everything you needed although we didn’t use it much since we had large groups eating out.

Perfect weekend getaway!
This is the perfect place for a quiet weekend away! The deck is like something out of a movie and we spent hours just looking at the water and watching the birds … especially the osprey nest in the inlet! So convenient to run out to Hannaford or into town for relaxing meals or walking around the TOTALLY charming shops. We couldn’t stop talking about how perfect it was. Thank you Lisa for making our weekend so lovely! ❤️

This property was absolutely FANTASTIC. We have stayed at other properties in the past and this one was the BEST. Very quiet. One floor living. Wonderful deck to watch the tide come in and go out. We watched lobster boats go about hauling the catch. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, plates and silverware. Lisa was wonderful to work with, as no inquiry seemed unimportant.

We had a great stay. A wonderful location and a great porch to watch the water and sunsets. Walking distance to the town store and the park picnic and swimming beach (Brrrr!)

Peaceful within minutes of fun
We didn't use the house as much as the deck. Mornings and evenings were serene watching the water. Days were spent doing fun stuff (recommend Barret Park for fun with the dogs & Mine Oyster for food with live music). At first look I noticed everything is white. Fear set in as we are traveling with dogs, but then I looked closer and realized that others had definitely been there before us. While not dirty, there were stains on the carpet. To others it might bother, but honestly it made me relax a little. We had a memorable vacation and want to stay longer next year!

Just Right
This property made for the perfect getaway! Located not far of the main road to Boothbay but you would not know it. The perfect mix of relaxing away from it all but yeah 5-10 minutes you have your choice of amazing things to do. The host has done a wonderful job with the property the deck and sliding glass doors just fill the house with amazing natural light. Looking forward to booking with my family again

Fun friends get away
Three couples enjoyed our stay when we visited Gardens Aglow at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. We enjoyed watching the tidal water, birds and snowfall out the large living room windows. The directions that Lisa sent with the key made it very easy to find the house.

Fees, location, scenery from deck were great. Pictures on VRBO a little deceiving. The living room & kitchen were nice but a little smaller than it looked. Much of the furniture-especially the mattresses and blankets need to be replaced. We did not need to use the downstairs area, but glad we weren’t counting on using it. Just my opinion, but it was too cellar-like (dingy, dark and damp).

Hidden treasure
If you're looking for a new up to date house this might not be for you. However, if you want a very well stocked bright and comfortable home in a great location with a wonderful view stay here. Six of us stayed for 6 nights and it was perfect for us. The owner is very accommodating and will answer any questions. We would definitely return. Only thing we couldn't find was a broom.

Perfect home close but private
We really enjoyed our stay! The home is on a beautiful cove with herons and all kinds of birds to watch from the deck while you sip your coffee. It’s a real home, with all the ‘fixins’! It’s a campy house- simple, clean, and sliders out to the massive deck from 2 bedrooms and the living room. Open concept.,
Lisa was a terrific host. We hope to return!
