Beautiful custom home directly overlooking the ocean! Mary the host was incredibly helpful and generously permitted my two well behaved german shepherd dogs. The entire family enjoyed relaxing in the backyard, collecting shells along the beach during low tide, cooking a family dinner, and setting a fire during a cooler evening while watching a movie. Excellent seafood restaurant 5 minutes away called Splash. Guard gated community with very active security patrols both day a night.Truly a wonderful break.This was our first VRBO experience and will not be our last. Thank you Mary for the opportunity for my family to enjoy a piece of your heaven.

Mary’s place is a beautiful place to watch sunsets and spend some time with your loved ones. The structure of the house is exactly as the pictures really nice house.

A strong odor of mold hit us when we first walked in. It took us a few hours to realize it was coming from the dishwasher. Mary, our host, was very quick to send someone over and clean it out, and while we were never able to use the dishwasher, Mary was very apologetic and accommodating. Still, two people in our party developed reactive airways that would bother them for the entire 4 days we were there. The non-master beds were not queens, they were full-size. But they were comfortable. The master has good views, but note that it does not have any privacy, since it has open (curtained) archways to the home's interior common areas and kitchen. That makes for tough sleeping. All in all, the host was kind and flexible with checkout, the home sub-par, and the ocean-front views the real highlight that brightened our spirits. Couple other notes: few decent restaurants a short drive (not walkable) 5 min south. Beach is cobblestone except at fully drained tide. The surf break looks like it would be fun and private on a W or S swell, but unfortunately was flat while we were there.

The house was wonderful! Great location in front of the ocean. The house is large, well equipped and meticulously decorated. Very quiet and peaceful area. The security is excellent. We enjoyed the large fireplace in the living room. It was terrific hearing the waves all night. Mary was very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend the Sandcastle. We will definitely be back again.

This property exceeded our expectations! This house is beautiful from the front gate, throughout the magnificent garden, all the way through the open and welcoming inside of the home, to the incredible Pacific Ocean front paradise! We will be back....

Such an amazing experience. When you walk in through that whale door to seeing all the greenery out front of the home to the landing spot by the ocean had us in shock. Such a beautiful home. We felt very safe and secured with the guards at the gate guarding the entrance as well. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you Mary for also making it a great experience and replying to any questions we had!

The Sandcastle is a wonderful property perfectly located on the bluffs above the coast. The owner, Mary, is incredibly helpful and accommodating. We will come back!

Three couples from church went on an adventure and had a wonderful time! Our stay was just perfect. My husband loves to cook but we are never sure if there will be sufficient kitchen ware at our disposal. The home was fully stocked with nearly anything you might need to cook a gourmet meal (he always brings his own chef knives, such a snob😉)! The gas barbeque was an older model but a little finesse and hubby was able to roast some steaks, veggies and a few chickens. There is a lovely garden and covered patio between the gated street entrance and the front door. It provided an inspirational shaded shelter for my art making! The home decor was a mix of Mexican folk artisan and comfortable furnishing with wood and Saltillo tile! The bathrooms were fully stocked with plenty of cotton Turkish towels, nice touch! The full window paneled view of the ocean was stunning! We left most of the doors open throughout our stay to hear the crashing waves. Be sure to bring mosquito repellent though, I am prone to bites so they had a feast with me. Of course, hubby went unscathed🤨! The beds were very comfortable and the bedding was new and crisp. The water pressure was great and the hot water plentiful! We enjoyed reading and journaling on the whale watching platform. There was an umbrella for protection from the sun, so many hours idled by doing this! My husband did manage to get into the ocean for a swim but the rest of us were more of the land lubber types...I will say though, although the owners rightly point out the caution needed to brave the steps to the ocean, I found them manageable and ventured down to explore. Make sure to wear water shoes though, as the large pebbled beach made beachcombing a challenge. All in all, we had a memorable stay! Last notes...don't use too much soap in the dishwasher and be careful to light the gas fireplace with a minimal amount of gas to start the flame, then increase the valve as needed...just sayin...lol

Great property in a nice and secure community. The house was super cute and bigger than I thought. We enjoyed sitting outside looking at the ocean and enjoying the sunset and the beautiful weather. It was quiet and peaceful. The community is close to shops and restaurants about a five minute drive away and 10 minutes to Puerto Nuevo for lobsters. Great time spent relaxing. Thank you, Mary for your quick responses and your accommodations.

The location was just as described on the profile. The instructions to arrive were very precise. The location was clean and the owner was very accessible. She text me after I arrived to make sure the home was in good condition as expected and if there was anything that was needed to please let her know. We would love to return to this property!

The property is not quite as it's listed. Much of the furniture is different and very dated. Even the patio furniture wasn't there as in the picture. The views are amazing. Being able to see and hear the ocean is wonderful. Many things were rusted, kitchen sink didn't drain, there were cobwebs and what looked like mold on the ceiling in the shower/toilet area. The primary room is not blocked off at all- people need to know that curtains cover 2 walls. I think this place could be fabulous but it really needs some attention and elbow grease. Another bug plus is that we could bring our fur babies and they loved it too.

The house sits right on the ocean and you can get to the water by going down several steps. Unfortunately, there was no sand (all rocks this time of year), but it was very beautiful. Restaurants (Splash, Encanto and Puerto Nuevo) were all very close and delicious. The wineries (Valle de Guadalupe) were less than hour drive and very tasty and definitely worth the drive. Super cool property located in a perfect spot for us. The layout and decore of the house is really cool and the view is amazing. My favorite place to stay in this general area. Well guarded front gate to the area provides a nice sense of security. Huge fireplace in the main room and a secondary gas fireplace in the adjoining room was epic since it was a little chilly during our stay. If you're looking for a unique rustic mexican 3 bedroom place in this area and love the beach you'll love this place.
