We spent the 4th of July at this beautiful lake house. The home and property are perfect. The dock is amazing. The host was extremely nice and very easy to communicate with. We will definitely be looking into renting again.

The house was immaculate, with everything where they said it would be. The dock was a great place to unwind outside, and the sunroom was a great place to unwind and see the lake from inside. Enjoyed taking out the kayaks from the beachy area. Relaxing and private.

We stayed 6 days and spent the entire time in our bathing suits lol. The house is bigger than it looks in the pictures and very comfortable. We had some issues with two of the eyes on the stove and a plethora of spiders at night lol but that was it and totally minor. The little beach on the lake was perfect as were the dock and the kayaks. All are easy to use, easy to access, and easy to clean up. The fire pit was great, and the owners provided a stack of wood to use so we only had to gather little sticks for kindling. We had the very best time swimming and kayaking every single day. We also walked through the woods and found a rock waterfall with what I think was a natural spring next door. My 6-year-old prob jumped off the dock 100 times lol. This has been one of our favorite vacation rentals ever! The lake views are gorgeous from either the living room with a fireplace and big screen TV or the sun room with its bank of windows overlooking the yard. We saw deer and blue heron, squirrels and blue birds. The furniture in both rooms is comfortable, each with a couch and chairs with plenty of pillows. The kitchen was well stocked and the freezer has an ice maker. The grill outside worked great and our steaks tasted amazing. The bedroom we stayed had a king size bed that was so comfortable. Not too hard, not too soft…just right. There were extra blankets and pillows in the closet. There are several comfortable places to sit outdoors, on the deck or out on the stone patio where you can build a small campfire. All with fantastic views of the water. The covered dock on the water is another beautiful place to sit and there’s a small, clean sandy beach area right beside it. We took our folding chairs down and sat there in the sun with our feet in the water. There’s a Dollar General maybe a mile away we used a few times for incidentals. Very convenient. We drove into Monticello and ate a few meals and even found the Sac-O-Suds where the movie My Cousin Vinny filmed in 1992 and took some photos, bought a t-shirt. If you’re looking for a relaxing, low-key, peaceful place to rest and rejuvenate, then this is the place for you. Jean is responsive and helpful and has gone out of her way to create a lovely vacation destination on Jackson Lake. Thank you, Jean! xoxo

My family and I once again thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jean's lake house. We love all the various spots to relax and enjoy time as a family, both indoors and out. We love watching sunrises and sunsets over the lake, relaxing on the deck, grilling, roasting marshmallows over the fire pit, playing in the sand and shore on the private beach, and kayaking together as a family. Jean is an excellent host and communication, check-in, and check-out were smooth. We hope to have another opportunity to relax in this serene setting!

Loved the outdoor furniture on the dock! Spent every morning and evening reading on the dock, enjoying the peace and beauty of the lake. What a great spot! The home was comfortable and clean. Had a great stay.

The lake house feels like stepping back into your past. Like a visit to your grandparents house, it was immediately homey and comfortable. Very clean with plenty of room for sleeping and hanging out. The dock is generously sized and we spent many hours during the day and into the evening, relaxing and watching boats pass on the lake. We enjoyed the kayaks and spent quite a bit of time exploring the area around the house. The beach was great for our youngest. He loved building sand castles and playing in the shallow water. Our family had a wonderful weekend away and look forward to visiting in the future.

We had a great time at this rental. We were looking for a last minute get away near Atlanta where we could get great Wi-Fi and some peace and solitude - this rental was perfect for our needs. Excellent Wi-Fi + a lovely front room with floor to ceiling windows and a beautiful view of the lake. Working in this area was truely lovely. The private dock is a short walk down a grassy hill/front lawn. The dock is well taken care of and feels secluded - we didn’t see any next door neighbors, we did see a neighbor across the lake :). The host is very nice and took extra care to accommodate our last minute reservations. Would recommend + book again!

Great host and lovely house on the water. Short walk down to the covered dock. I sat there often to read and write. Perfect place for a getaway and still within range of good places to eat.

Our family was excited to return to this relaxing retreat for a second time! The lakehouse was as inviting as we remembered, with plenty of space for our family of three. Many beautiful flowers were in bloom! We enjoyed spending time both indoors and in the many outdoor spaces - enjoying the views from the home, patios and grill; having meals and reading down on the dock; playing in the sand; kayaking; and watching sunsets and stargazing from the hillside. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and Jean provided excellent information. We returned from our vacation refreshed. We hope to return to this serene spot again!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at the lake house. It was very clean and cozy. This home was very antique and had so much character. I could have sworn I was back in 1987 like Uncle Rico from "Napoleon Dynamite" or on the "Ozarks", which was pretty cool. It was so therapeutic to escape the troubles of 2022 relaxing in the sun room and beside the lake. I wished we could've stayed longer. The only recommendation I have is to get your food and supplies in Covington or the city before you get to the home. There aren't a lot of stores or restaurants by the home. Overall, I can't wait to go back when we have more time.

Perfect location to get away from it all and have it all! Porch all glass windows beautiful water views! Boat dock gorgeous well made and comfortable enough to take a nap! Fire pit for outside evening pleasure. We enjoyed our stay.

Only complaintwas the hard floors were cover in sand when we arrived, and there is a significant number of cockroaches on the outdoor deck at night. Was a shame as

We had a lovely long weekend at this beautiful lakehouse! The house had plenty of room for our family of three, and the view from the front porch was stunning. We loved looking out at the lake throughout the day from indoors and from the multiple outdoor seating areas. Outdoors, we enjoyed grilling, relaxing on the dock and watching wildlife, kayaking, and especially playing on the small sandy beach and in the shallow waters there. Jean is a wonderful host and provided helpful information and quick responses to our inquiries before and during our stay. This is the perfect retreat for a relaxing family getaway. We hope to return again!

This was our 2nd year as a family back at this lake house. We knew we wanted to come back to Jean’s place due to this location. The house is perfectly located on the lake where you also feel secluded from any neighbors. If you have kids they will enjoy swimming from the beach pad or jumping off the dock. Jean was very accommodating and replied to us very quickly with any questions we had. Our family always has a blast here.

The property was very clean and well maintained. The owner Jean was incredibly helpful and kind. We spent most of our time on the lake which made for a perfect getaway. Close enough to some stores and restaurants to be convenient. The dock made for the perfect lounging and swimming area!

To start with, beware of the previously broken mirrored glass on the bedroom closet door. The owner, Jean, will charge you for it even though it was already broken. I sent a text to the owner, Jean, stating the mirror glass was already broken and she responded that she knew it was, but when I checked out she stated the mirror glass was broken more than charged me for it. LOL It was broken before arriving and I was charged for it anyways. Also, the previously broken mirrored glass on the bedroom closet door is a danger the children sleeping in that room. The mirror is located next to the bunkbeds where children sleep, and the mirror could easily hurt someone. Jean stated the mirror was broken for the past 4 years and has been taped up. Four years without fixing a broken mirror says a lot about this rental property. Why would anyone allow a mirror to go broken for 4 years with children sleeping and playing around it in that bedroom? I told the owner that the broken mirrored glass was in the same condition when we left as when we arrived. She didn't believe me. Take pictures of the entire place on the arrival day so you won't be charged extra. Also, when my family and I arrived the house was filthy. We had to clean the stove top and oven before using it, clean out the sink from the old food still stuck in the drain, clean the spider webs from around the living room doors, windows, corners, and TV. Also, don't go out on the patio at night unless you want to be carried off by HUGE cockroaches! There were so many roaches my family couldn't sit on the patio at night and relax. They were so thick in front of the door we were afraid they were going to come in the house chasing us. (I laugh now, but it was not funny when my family couldn't sleep, thinking about roaches all night long.) Also, during the last evening of our stay the power went out on the dock while family was sitting on the dock enjoying family time playing cards and it didn't come back on. We could smell something burning like there was a short in the electrical line. I'm glad it was our last night there. My family was ready to leave this unsafe rental. I hope that the owner gets the power to the boat dock fixed correctly so it doesn't happen to other guests. It's clearly another safety issue that should be addressed by the owner. Good Luck!

We decided to take our girls to the lake for the 4th of July weekend. We had the best time!! The lake view was amazing and we enjoyed watching the sunsets. There was plenty to do (kayaking, swimming, fishing and grilling). The beds were very comfy and the den comfortably sat all 5 of us. Jean quickly responded when we had a question. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We really enjoyed our stay at the lake house! It was so clean and stocked well. The carpets were so soft and the beds were very comfortable. Loved all the time and extras. The beach was incredible and made it great for our toddler. Everyone really enjoyed the kayaks and fishing off the dock. Our son caught the biggest catfish he’s ever caught. We even caught the ice cream truck. It couldn’t get all the way down but if you hear the music run up the hill and wave them down!

Incredible lake front property with easy slope to the great dock. Very clean, fully stocked house. We had a great time cooking all our meals and enjoyed swimming off the dock, kayaking, and relaxing on the dock sofa and chairs.

The property is clean, spacious, and well kept. Everything worked well and the wifi is great if you need to connect to work while there. There are adequate restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores close by if you want to just unwind without venturing out too far. Our favorite part was the Lake. The lake was beautiful, and we spent most of our time on the dock and on the water. We did make a trip to Covington to see the sites of the many Hollywood movies and TV shows filmed ther over the years and grab some coffee and ice cream on the square. We will be making this one of our regular getaways!
