The house, yard, and view were even more beautiful than in the photos. It was immaculate, comfortable, spacious, and extremely well-appointed. The beds & bedding felt luxurious, the kitchen was wonderful to cook in, and it hit the right balance between pristine and homey (in the best way). There were so many thoughtful details (e.g. the labeling in the kitchen, the info in the binder, etc) that made our stay smooth, and the house had wonderful artistic/decorating touches that gave it real charm and originality. Surisingly to me, one of the very best features of this place is the caretaker Xeno. He managed the impossible task of being completely unobtrusive and almost invisible, yet being simultaneously welcoming and helpful if/when needed. He is also very kind! And clearly he works hard and with great care to keep the house and gardens in lovely condition and ensure a pleasant stay for guests. The location in Albion seems remote, quiet, and private, but with Mendocino 12 minutes away and Fort Bragg only 25, everything is at your fingertips. Be sure to have dinner at the Ledford House which is only five minutes away. My two dogs also loved the property. I did find that there were a lot of ticks, but that was true this year of everywhere we went in the area, and is part of a natural landscape, a wet winter, and abundant wildlife. I only mention it so that you plan to put your dogs on a tick preventative treatment. Wonderful property, actually worth the price!

Wonderful home! Lots of room to spread out, open, lots of natural light. Well stocked kitchen. Would stay at Riventides again if we ever go back to the Mendocino coast. Highly recommend this place!

We had a great time. Very spacious house with a large fenced yard our dogs adored. Our family of four had plenty of room to read, enjoy the hot tub or just sit and watch the view. The kitchen was well equipped with coffee maker, coffee, spices, etc… Although we didn’t use them, there are tons of books, movies, games and puzzles. The caretaker was super friendly and greeted us coming in and said goodbye on the way out. Otherwise we didn’t see or hear him. Overall, so nice and relaxing. We would definitely come back! The dogs give it two paws up.

Our recent stay at Riventides was wonderful! The home was warm and inviting, the property was large and private and the view off the back patio is breathtaking. The neighborhood is very quiet and it's a great location to reflect and recharge. You are far enough away from towns and people that you can enjoy privacy, yet close enough that you can grab groceries and enjoy a beach on a warm summer day. It's also just a short drive to Mendocino and Fort Bragg. At the time of writing this, the property is dog friendly, and our 80lb furry child thoroughly enjoyed running on the park-like stretch of lawn to chase her ball every morning and evening. The spa was clean and toasty, also very private off the master bedroom and the shower was piping hot with great pressure. The kitchen had everything we needed with a great butler pantry to store all our groceries. The on-site manager who stays in the living space above the detached garage was really great too, just there if/when you need him for anything otherwise he is very quiet and seemingly invisible during your stay. He has a phone number for questions and texts back quickly. Overall this location gets very high marks. We had a great stay and hope we can book again someday soon.

My husband and I (along with our pooch) recently stayed at Riventides. We found the property in excellent condition, lots of amenities, nice large rooms and a quiet location. Close to Albion, Little River and Mendocino. The property owner was terrific to deal with--very prompt and informative We especially enjoyed our dinners at The Ledford House (Albion) and Luna Trattoria in Mendocino. The lunches at Cafe Beaujolais were fun.

Just a perfect peaceful retreat, we loved it.

We had a wonderful four day getaway at a beautiful location and property! Everything about our stay was excellent, from the home itself to our communications with the homeowner and on-site property manager. We will definitely return!!

Our second stay in this lovely home was great. House is charming, warm, and outfitted with every amenity you would like. Very comfortable for our group of five not-so-young adults.

We really enjoyed our stay at this amazing house. Kitchen has everything you need for cooking and baking, the table is large enough for a big family gathering, and the view is gorgeous! The manager was very responsive and attentive. I highly recommend this place, it was a treat for us to stay at this beautiful, very well maintained house. Thank you for your hospitality!

The house is beautiful and very peaceful. We loved that of the 3 bedrooms there are 2 bedrooms downstairs. And each bedroom has its own bathroom which was another great feature. The entire home is just lovely. The outside deck was our favorite place to sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Thank you for accepting our request to stay. Zeno (on site manager) was very kind and helpful but unless you need something you won't know he lives on site.

It was everything I had hoped for. The house was roomy enough to have family members visit for the weekend. The setting and view were beautiful. It was a great place for quiet time and solitude. My wife and I would definitely consider staying here again.

This place was more than we expected. Beautiful and spacious interior with wonderful views. The kitchen was fully stocked with materials, there were plenty of books to read, and cozy furnishings. The bedrooms were comfortable with great amenities. We loved watching the fog roll in and out, the clear stars at night, and taking time to rest. Our dog loved the property and felt right at home. Would recommend this place!!

After a beautiful drive up from the East Bay, I, my son and daughter-in-law, and their two young teens immediately fell in love with this wonderful house as soon as we walked through the door. The pictures do not do it justice. It’s perfect. The large rooms allowed us to stretch out and be totally comfortable. It’s clean. My Mrs. Clean daughter-in-law brought her own cleaning products along and had no need for them. The kitchen has everything you would want. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The yard in back is big enough for family touch football. The kids kicked around a soccer ball and we all enjoyed looking at the view of the river and ocean. My son and grandson went fishing while we “girls” relaxed, played some cards and read. We drove to Ft. Bragg, Mendocino, and of course Albion. For a delicious dinner I can recommend the Ledford House. Food was great and the view spectacular. We hated to leave and desperately want to return as soon as possible.

Everything about the house was as described. Great location close to town of Mendocino but remote enough where you can get away from the traffic and noise. Highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting this area.

Had a wonderful stay with my family including mother and young daughter. We enjoyed hiking, the beaches, the art galleries and the wine tasting. And then lives relaxing at the house indoor and outdoors!!

Wow! Beautiful house with high ceilings, Immaculately clean upon check in, very pristine and clean! Great bookshelves and large cooks kitchen, upstairs one bedroom loft with 3 beds is great for adult children or kids to stay as there is a bathroom up there and the bedroom has a door. Lois was super prompt with all my questions and the caretaker Xeno was very helpful and welcoming. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is wifi service is a bit tricky but we all certainly managed just fine to access internet and we were able to use it most of the time. Lois has done many things to help and fix this so it probably won't be a problem for most people.

Fantastic house and view of ocean and lake

We were met by the caretaker of the property and he was a lovely man with lots of information for us. The house was cozy and comfortable with a great kitchen. We used the fireplace and the hot tub, wonderful. Enjoyed the view on the back porch every morning and evening, watching the fog lift and then come in. Good location. Only about 10 min. to Mendocino and 20 min. to Ft. Bragg.
