We loved the house. Great location and plenty of room! We would definitely stay there again. Missy was responsive and friendly. One small drawback…While kitchen was well stocked, dull knives, one old skillet, etc made cooking challenging.

The town center has many restaurants, shops and bars and has a wonderful farmers market that is worth a visit. Meijers grocery store is a short drive away. I would definitely stay here again.

We had a great stay! This was a clean and unique house that was brimming with character, from the custom woodwork to the distinctive rooms. The location is perfect - just a few blocks from town, the beach, and kids corner. The house offers one full bath and two half baths - one with a shower, and one with a toilet. The only drawback is the carpeted kitchen without a dishwasher, but we used paper plates which saved us from spending too much time doing dishes! I would definitely recommend.

The house was so lovely and decorated adorably. It has such a cozy feel that we automatically felt relaxed. With the beach only a few blocks away, we enjoyed walks, and bike rides to enjoy the sun and sand or take in the sunset. It was fun to take quick bike rides to town as well. We loved it and can’t wait to come back!

Close to the beach and town. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 children. The back bedroom was the only drawback. Very warm room with window air conditioner that was noisy. Otherwise, everything in the house was lovely. We throughly enjoyed our week.

We had an excellent time at this property. The owners provide everything you could possibly need during your stay. The home is in a great location. Very accessible to the beach and the town. We would definitely come back!

This house was perfect for our family vacation in South Heaven, it had everything we needed to feel like at home. It is beautiful decorated with beach theme in every room, it really makes you feel like you are on vacation. The property was very clean, we enjoy the patio for barbecues. The location is great, a few blocks to the beach or to downtown. We enjoy every minute of our vacation, the beds were very confortable. We were feeling cooped up and claustrophobic dealing with working / schooling from home due to covid, so we rented this home for a change of scenery. It did the trick. My two kids and I spent most of our week in South Haven inside the house, working and attending online school. The wifi was strong. Ours wasn't an ideal vacation, but that has everything to do with the times, and nothing to do with the house.The house is a delight. Charming, sprawling, decorated with intense and thoughtful detail in an aquatic, "blue mind" theme. Location is on a quiet residential street a few blocks from the beach. The bedrooms are calming. Beds and sheets are high quality. The kitchen is well-stocked with quality appliances, plateware and glasses. We cooked most of our meals. Regrettably there are no locally-owned groceries in the area, so we were forced to pick between Meier, Walmart and Aldi.There are tons of board games, puzzles, books and other media to keep your group busy. Like everything else about this property, the owners go way beyond what you find in most rental homes.The owners use a cleaning service, so there's no onerous cleaning chore list to complete before leaving. Our visit was in October, so we didn't swim in Lake Michigan. We did take the short walk to the beach every night to watch the sunset. We biked around the neighborhood and on local trails. This house would be perfect for a warm weather vacation. Lake Michigan beaches have all the benefits of ocean beaches, without the jellyfish, red tide, sea lice and sharks.South Haven has typical resort town restaurants and shops, but we did not frequent many. Too many Michiganders aggressively flout covid-19 guidelines. Many shop and restaurant owners, employees and patrons do not wear masks. Black River Books, a used book store near the house, was great about covid protocols, as were Kilwin's and Golden Brown Bakery on Phoenix. Most restaurants, however, packed 'em in at 100%, violating Michigan's 50% capacity order. If you take covid-19 seriously, please don't be scared off by my comments. You can load up on groceries and do your own cooking. The beaches and trails offer safe activities. There are lots of boat rentals available in the summer. I'm just letting you know what to expect from the indigenous population.Final note, if you seek Michigan's world-class agricultural products, check out Breedsville, a short drive away.

Our group of 2 adults and 3 teens really enjoyed staying at Missy's property. It was perfectly located between South Beach and downtown. It was fully equipped with everything you would need. The neighborhood was full of cute historic homes which make the stay even more pleasant.

My family had a wonderful experience at Missy's home! Each room was well decorated with nice and comfortable furnishings, making it a place you want to hang out and chill. The beach was a very short walk from house as well as darling downtown South Haven. Travelling with two kids who are in the tween/teen stage, walkable access to things to do was a must. They could have freedom to walk around and check out the town making them much nicer humans to be around. Missy was very responsive and easy to work with. I would rent here again!

Beautiful old house . Cozy and perfect for our family . We loved every minute spent there . The children enjoyed the lake . We loved watching the sunset with the children . The evenings spent grilling .. Walking to kylwinns for ice cream after dinner . So many memories of a lovely week in Southaven at a lovely old house on VanBeuren .

What a great place to roam all that south haven has to offer as well as the other towns on the west coast. The extras at this cottage were A+ : games, puzzles, kitchen, towels, soft sheets, comfy beds, beach chairs, bikes and more!

Love this house. It meets the needs of our family. The location is within walking distance to town and beach.

Perfect location! A short walk to the beach and a short walk to town. We loved the bikes at this property and used them everyday. The beds were comfortable. The hardwood floors in this older home were squeaky which might bother some, but it just brought back sweet memories for us of grandparents homes. We had spirited family matches of corn hole, darts, and board games. We enjoyed reading on the patio, grilling and when the nights turned cooler - a fire in the fire pit with the supplied wood! If you are wanting to do a lot of cooking/baking, the oven is small and not sure about exact temp settings as it is older with dials - but who goes on vacation to cook!!?? More than sufficient for our needs. Our 2 year old grandson LOVED the rubber duck collection for the tub! A lovely, lovely week in a new favorite part of the country!

What a beautiful home, stocked full with any amenity you need! South Haven is always fun, and this home gave our family of 6 ample room to spread out and enjoy R&R. Beautiful patio area!

Pros: Great location to South Beach & Downtown. Great brick patio for morning / evening reads & breezes. Upstairs bedrooms spacious & great bedding / bathroom nice enough however window painted shut, would have been nice to open it for a "breeze" with 5 + people using it. Stocked garage with bikes, dart game, gas grill & more. Living room & extra seating area, dining area great with 2 couches, a loveseat, big chair, & dining set for 6. The side seating room couch & loveseat have seen some wear & the pullout sofa bed in this area not clean or comfortable. Bring a blow up. Room for improvement for price: We have been coming to South Haven for over 35 years. We love South Beach. The price of rentals has more than doubled in that time & while this rental is priced for the area demand, it left some things to be desired. -Entryways/Exits:The care of the gardens & ivy is "overgrown" (not just English garden style). The 2 front doors can not be opened for a breeze or entry / exit as the ivy has grown over them so much. I tried, the space between the inside wood door and the storm door was covered in cob webs and spider sacks. Hadn't been opened in a very long time. The back exit off the "herb garden" (no herbs, over grown and ivy growing into the Air Unit out back) is not a clear exit either. The only way in or out is the door off the driveway/garage side, & this works, but the storm door handle is broken & doesn't close completely. This could be a problem if there is a fire. -Windows: All the living room, dining room, & card room off kitchen windows have no screens & storm windows latched on. We were not able to open a window to get a breeze & the weather outside was cooler than inside (75 during day and 60's at night). We were able to open 2 kitchen windows (w/screens) while cooking but that was it. Opening windows was a must as there is no hood vent over the stove top cooking area in the kitchen island. -The "well stocked kitchen" was overstocked and cluttered from with random kitchen items that need to be thinned out and organized. Two of the baking sheets didn't fit in the small oven which is separate from stove top, worked but has old burner knobs removed as a wooden counter top now resides over it and some pans too big for oven. Plenty of dishes but overflowing into the 1st front entry way that doesn't open, and the card room built in. Needs to be de cluttered and organized. Air conditioning was: Doesn't work in Blue Bedroom. HOT!
