Great house, had everything we needed for a family getaway. Central location and easy to get around the area.

The layout and amenities were perfect for traveling with a one year old! Hang out spaces upstairs and down, mini crib and other baby items available, clear communication from owners. We had a great long weekend getaway!

We had a wonderful stay at Dala House near Blowing Rock. The cabin was clean, cozy, and well stocked. We loved the location near Blowing Rock, with easy access to Boone, the trails around Moses Cone, and many other hiking trails in the area.

Swedish themed "Dala House" was perfect for our family; ages ranging from 11 to 78. Nearby zip lines, canoeing, and rafting for the youngest; easy to moderate trail hiking and drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway for the oldest. We all enjoyed refreshing new experiences.

Communication was excellent and the property was as described in a really nice neighborhood. Very close to Blowing Rock and only 20 min from Boone. We had a wonderful time!

We had the good fortune to spend several days at the Dala House. It was the perfect place for our multigenerational group! The house was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. In addition, the layout of the house provided the perfect blend of togetherness and privacy. Stephanie has missed her calling if she's not an interior decorator :) In addition to being beautiful the house was very functional. We found everything we needed to cook at home and for our grand children to stay safely and comfortably. The hosts provided so many thoughtful extras, especially for a family traveling with young children. If you stay, be sure to star view from the deck. Magical. We hope to return to this very special place.

We had a great time. The cabin was beautiful. We loved the puzzles and games they had for the kids and we all had a great time. Will definitely rent again.

Such a beautiful property, and a wonderful time! We went tubing at Hawksnest. Skiing at App, and rode the Alpine coaster prior to leaving for home! Perfect space for our family! Beautiful, clean and spacious! Will definitely return!

We so enjoyed the stay at this home! I loved the decor! Much different than any other country cabin I've ever stayed in. Little touched everywhere that let you know the owners wanted you to feel at home. Location was great. Good restaurants right at the bottom of the mountain in Blowing Rock! We'd definitely stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay here. It was so convenient to have all of the necessities for young children. The cabin is extremely clean, organized, and comfortable. We loved the accommodations as well as the (covid approved) activities available in the area.

We have visited this area many times in our 43 years of marriage, and my husband said this accommodation was his favorite. It is exactly as pictured in the listing. Very clean and attractive. I had all the cookware we needed and food delivery services from grocery store and restaurants were excellent. Stephanie was great in her communication before the trip. This home is very convenient to Blowing Rock and the Parkway which will take you to several beautiful hiking and picnic areas. The views are spectacular at the top of the neighborhood so walk up there while you’re here. We had the good fortune of being here the week before peak color, so we enjoyed watching the changing colors not only on hikes but, also, from the back windows of the home. We sat on the deck several afternoons just enjoying the weather and fresh air. We were looking for a safe getaway where we could relax and be safe during the pandemic. This was perfect. We would definitely return.

My family and I had such a great stay! My two children loved the bunk beds. I loved the design elements that the whole home had and the fact that it was extremely clean. The beds were amazingly comfortable. My kids discovered a set of dominos and played for hours in the play room on a rainy afternoon. Everything was perfect.

Master bath very large and very nicely done. This property is about 12 minute drive from Main Street. No close neighbors. Surrounded by trees so no “view”.

We stayed at this amazing cottage for a long weekend (two parents, children ages 4 and 6). The location is great; very close to town, but tucked away in a private area. The property has been immaculately remodeled, and it was well appointed with everything we needed. Also, the owner, Stephanie, was super helpful and friendly, and she gave us some tips about the area when we texted her. We hope to come back!

Misty mountain is absolutely beautiful. We walked the "neighborhood" several times and the views were stunning. We definitely understand where Misty mountain got her name. I will recommend this place to our friends.

Our family of 5, including 3 teenage daughters had a great visit at this cabin. The property is very nice and just as described. It is also very conveniently located to Blowing Rock and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We would definitely stay here again. And Stephanie we very communicative and helpful.

Everything was beautiful! It was a very relaxing stay, and the house is in a perfect location. The amenities were spot on. We had 4 adults and 2 kids stay and it was lovely. My only suggestion would be to watch the last step going down towards the Master bedroom. My father ended up miscalculating it due to shadows and fell. The Dala House is definitely somewhere I would recommend to go to in order to "get away" and take a break!!!! Thanks for everything!

From beginning to end, renting the Dala House was perfect! Great location...7-8 minute drive to Blowing Rock, WARMTH in every way...cleanliness, attention to detail, amazing well equipped kitchen, comfy furniture, wonderful mattresses, great deck surrounded by trees for family time, morning coffee or just peace.....these are only some of the things that brought our family simply joy these past 2 weeks! The owners were so helpful and communicative during the entire process. They shared many tips for living in the mountains, touring and eating...we loved cooking in the kitchen and dining at Blowing Rock’s excellent restaurants...Bass Lake was a 5 minute drive and we exercised there every day! This was a five star experience...thank you Stephanie and Ed for creating this “peace” away from our home.

The Dala House was perfect. Such a nice property that was so comfortable for our family! Everything was thoughtfully provided, including emergency kit and kitchen staples- even some ziplock bags for picnics! We needed nothing. The safety gate for stairs helped us stay relaxed with our littles (ages 5, 3, and 16 months). We loved the toddler backpack for short hikes. The high chair, pack n play, video monitor, blow dryer, and kids dishes allowed us to pack lightly for our trip. We enjoyed the variety of dvds and puzzles. All appliances were in perfect working condition, and the home was so clean. We especially enjoyed the porch, where we are most meals and played games. We were such a convenient distance to several destinations including Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather mountain, Linville falls, Julian Price park, mast general store at Valley Crucis, downtown Blowing Rock, and Grandfather Vinyard and Winery. Thank you for such a fun, comfortable, and somehow even relaxing vacation for our young family! If we come back to the area, I’d want to stay at the Dala House!

As you can see by the pictures this is a lovely cabin. The kitchen is very well stocked with many spices and seasonings, and utensils. Board games and family movies are also available. This home is very well located with easy drives to streams, hiking trails and downtown Blowing Rock. Stephanie, is extremely generous in sharing her knowledge and love of this area. She couldn't have been more accomodating. We began each morning on the deck, taking in the cool mountain air, the beauty of the landscape the sounds of the birds. We will return!
