We had two families of four staying at Sleeping Willows, and although it was a little tight, it was an excellent stay. The loft area was perfect for the kids to play in (aged 4-8) and there was some space in the backyard to play. The kids loved watching for the train every time it came by. It's both convenient and dangerous to be right off the main highway, but the kids were old enough to know not to wander near the road. The garden was beautiful, well-kept, and almost magical! The fire pit and deck were great places to gather. Overall we had a lovely time and would recommend it to anyone with kids. Thanks to Jan, our host, who made the process really easy and was always within reach!

Jan was a great host! The house was clean and inviting. We loved the backyard and patio space with the grill and firepit. The location is a short drive from Chicago and a few minutes down the road to downtown New Buffalo. We had everything we needed during our stay and Jan was very helpful in giving recommendations. Highly recommend for groups looking for a weekend getaway!

Convenient location between Indiana and Warren State Dunes parks with easy access to local beaches. House is small but charming with enough space and very clean. We changed our vacation plans and were able to book last minute. It is right off Michigan Ave and train tracks are across the street so it can be noisy outside and there's a business next door. The garden was cute I would have liked a bench or swing amongst the flowers. There were some very nice wooded walking paths to the rear of the property we enjoyed. My kids enjoyed the hammock and it was pleasant to enjoy a bonfire one night. My kids loved the bunkbeds and loft area and my son did not want to leave. It was a good rest after long days at the beach and dune climbing. Jan was a wonderful host and very easy to reach with any questions.

Perfect location to many beaches. Perfect back porch and fire pit area. Perfect beds and bedrooms for 5 adults and 3 ( ages 8 to 11) kids. Perfect area to ride bikes just across the street. We had a stupendous time.

We stayed for a bachelorette party and it was a great time. Hard to find at first because it was right off the highway and abrupt to find, but we got the hang of it! It was very small and homey!

Jan was wonderful to rent from. The house is darling and very clean. It is close to the highway and the railroad tracks, so bring your ear plugs to ensure comfy sleeping.

We had a great time and the house was nice and had everything we needed. The outdoor areas are beautiful to sit outside and enjoy the weather and time with friends! We loved the private beach!! Jan was great to give advise on where to eat or what to do. She showed us all 3 properties and they are all great!!! Hope to come back soon! Thanks

We had a group of 5 teenage girls and 3 moms. The house was very clean and the garden area was beautiful. We took many pictures in the garden area. Three of the girls slept with sleeping bags and 2 blow up air mattresses in the loft area. We had plenty of hot water for showers, but needed a couple of extra towels for showering purposes. We utilized the golf cart for the beach area. We drove down close to the beach and parked the golf cart at the beach location. There was no one else near the area on the beach since it was later in the day. You could walk to the beach, but we recommend driving down and parking closer since you have to pass a busy street and it is a bit of a distance. We utilized the back porch for our morning breakfast and chatting area. Jan was very helpful with providing us with several suggestions on where to eat. We were attending a concert in South Bend and visited Bob's 19th Hole. We had an excellent stay and we highly recommend to other. There is a Dollar General store close to purchase items you forget. The WiFi was a little spotty at times, but all the kids were trying to use it at one time. There were plenty of dishes and cookware to utilize. The only thing missing was an iron and ironing board. We would highly recommend for a family or group to stay in the cottage. We are planning on a return visit next year, but may need to rent another property of Jan's due to size of group.

This charming cottage was the perfect place for a fun weekend getaway. We rented this house for a wedding we were attending in New Buffalo over the weekend. The location was perfect, we were able to get to and from all of the wedding events very easily and quickly. The owners of the property were so nice and accommodating! The house had everything we needed and the backyard is so cute and peaceful. This is a great place for a family to stay or a few friends looking for a weekend escape. We will be back, we loved New Buffalo and what it had to offer.

This property would be a perfect place to stay in New Buffalo if it was not right next to a busy highway. Upon our request, the owners brought over two window fans we used to block out the highway noise so we slept better the rest of our stay. The backyard is gorgeous with amazing landscaping and a fire pit perfect for roasting marshmallows. The home itself is clean and well maintained. The kids loved the loft and we were able to make them a bed with some lawn chair cushions. Bring an air mattress and it is a perfect place for kids to sleep. The beds were comfortable and everything (including the air conditioning) worked well. We had no trouble with the Wi-Fi service and there was always a good connection. The private beach access is a nice touch, but the beach itself was a bit rocky instead of sandy. However the kids loved playing in the waves and finding cool rocks. The New Buffalo public beach is $12 admission and can get pretty crowded on the weekends, but if you get there by 11am you are sure to get a parking spot. One the best days there was spent at Warren Dunes Park/beach about 20 minutes east of the property. White sand beaches and blue water. We kept forgetting we were by a lake because it felt like we were by an ocean. We also found a really cool park nearby called Galien River County Park with easy trails and a cool overlook tower. We enjoyed BBQ at New Buffalo Bills and ice cream at Oink's. Overall a great 4 days in Michigan with lots of fun memories. Thanks to Jan and her husband for their responsiveness to our questions and requests for recommendations.

My family only had 2 nights to spend in New Buffalo and I was able to book this home on short notice . Perfect size for my husband and 2 kids. The gardens around the house are amazing . It is on Hwy 12 and the train track . I knew that when I read past reviews so I was not surprised, but definitely hwy noise and some train. Access to beach was great. We rode bikes there and you can drive your car to their house and take the golf cart.
